Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: MAN, THE ENTIRE HUMAN ORGANISM IS DERIVED FROM A SINGLE FERTILIZED EGG CELL. From the instant called conception, human organism grows and develops continuously to enter adulthood at age 20.
Yes indeed, Life is Complicated. The complexity of Life involves the merciless living process called the aging combined with the uncertain and often unpredictable phenomenon called life span while God may have sanctioned to man a life span of One Hundred Twenty Years.
The concept of Life-Span implies that there is an Individual whose existence has a definite beginning and end. The human body develops from a Single, fertilized Egg Cell called Zygote which is produced by the union of a male sex cell called sperm and a female sex cell called egg. Human life includes clearly distinguishable stages such as infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. From the instant called conception, human organism grows and develops continuously to enter adulthood at age 20. At about the age of 25, the progressive developmental changes are completed. While there are individualistic variations in the aging process, most human beings can be identified to be living in a condition called old age by the time they attain the age of 80-years.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: MAN’S EXISTENCE IS GOVERNED BY THE ETERNAL LAW OF AGING. MAN EXISTS WHILE HE PASSES THROUGH VARIOUS STAGES SUCH AS BOYHOOD, YOUTH, ADULTHOOD, AND OLDAGE THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH CHANGES IN FORM AND APPEARANCE.
The exact duration of human life is unknown. Guinness World Records has verified the age claims of old, living persons in the world and the highest authenticated human age is 122 years.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: FRENCH WOMAN JEANNE CALMENT COULD BE THE OLDEST PERSON TO HAVE LIVED. SHE DIED IN 1997 AT THE AGE OF 122 YEARS THAT IS VERIFIED BY THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: DINA MANFREDINI DIED IN JOHNSTON, IOWA, USA ON DECEMBER 17, 2012 AT AN OFFICIALLY VERIFIED AGE OF 115-YEARS. THE FACT OF HER OLD AGE CAN BE EASILY RECOGNIZED.
There could be a maximum life-span for the human race that is established in the human genome. To account for human longevity, it is important to study all the human records. In that exploration of written human records of human longevity, I studied Bible, particularly The Old Testament Book of Genesis which is recognized as The First Book of Moses.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The Oak tree of Abraham (Father of Multitude)
Bible shares information concerning the inheritance of longevity from the study of the genealogical records of Hebrew people such as Adam, Noah, and Abraham. In my view, the statements concerning the age at death of Hebrew people cannot be dismissed as religious fiction.
The Biblical Record of Human Life-Span:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE OLD TESTAMENT BOOK GENESIS IS A WRITTEN RECORD OF THE LIFE-SPAN OF HEBREW PEOPLE. HUMAN HISTORY AND THE RECORDS OF HUMAN LONGEVITY BEGIN WITH THE CREATION OF ADAM AND EVE IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN. THE HEBREW WORD ADAM MEANS MAN.
There is no evidence to suggest that human life-span has increased since the beginning of recorded history. Advances in Medical Science and the understanding of the principles of nutrition, sanitation, environmental hygiene, and disease prevention have contributed to a remarkable increase in the life expectancy of the general population. However, there is no valid reason to make a similar claim about human life-span. On the contrary, the Hebrew record of human longevity depicts a sudden, and dramatic drop in the expected human life-span.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE BIBLICAL LIFE-SPANS OF ADAM TO JACOB PROVIDE A VERY INTERESTING CONTRAST BETWEEN THE HEBREW PEOPLE WHO LIVED BEFORE THE EPIC FLOOD AND AFTER THE FLOOD.
The Biblical Record of man’s creation and his mortality reveal that the LORD God Creator played a crucial, and decisive role to change the length of the human life-span while external factors like food, and environment could easily tilt the balance in the direction of long-lasting life or premature death.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age:LORD God Creator played a crucial, decisive role to change the length of the human life-span while external factors like food, and environment could easily tilt the balance in the direction of long-lasting life or premature death.
I would like to briefly go over a few details about the recorded life histories of Adam, Noah, and Abraham who was originally known as Abram.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Genesis, Chapter 5 claims that Adam at the age of 130 years, had a son named Seth.
Genesis, Chapter 5 claims that Adam at the age of 130 years, had a son named Seth. Adam lived for another 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived 930 years and then he died (Genesis 5:5).

IN THE HEBREW RECORD OF HUMAN HISTORY, METHUSELAH, THE GRANDFATHER OF NOAH, LIVED THE LONGEST LIFE POSSIBLE FOR ANY HUMAN BEING. HE HAD EXPERIENCED THE AGING PROCESS, BUT HIS LIFE VIGOR ENDURED OLD AGE UNTIL HE ATTAINED THE MATURE AGE OF 969 YEARS.SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: NOAH’S LIFE HISTORY IS THE MOST INTERESTING LIFE-SPAN RECORD OF THE BOOK OF GENESIS. ALTOGETHER NOAH LIVED 950 YEARS, A LIFE-SPAN THAT IS NINETEEN YEARS SHORTER AS COMPARED TO THE LIFE-SPAN OF METHUSELAH. HOLLYWOOD ACTOR RUSSELL CROWE ENACTED THE ROLE OF NOAH IN THE MOVIE TITLED NOAH.
Methuselah (grandfather of Noah) lived 969 years and then died (Genesis 5:27).
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: It is an interesting fact for Methuselah lived longer than Adam who was created by God, and longer than Noah with whom God made His Covenant to defend all Life that lives on planet Earth (Genesis 9:17).
It is an interesting fact for Methuselah lived longer than Adam who was created by God, and longer than Noah with whom God made His Covenant to defend all Life that lives on planet Earth (Genesis 9:17).
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The father of Noah, Lamech altogether lived 777 years (Genesis 5:31)
The father of Noah, Lamech altogether lived 777 years (Genesis 5:31). After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: During the lifetime of Noah, God announced a predetermined human life-span and had fixed it as 120 years.
However, the LORD God Creator makes a very dramatic decision and said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal, his days will be a hundred and twenty years.”(Genesis 6:3) God expelled Adam from the Garden of Eden and condemned Adam to lead a mortal existence. But, at that time, God made no decision about human life-span.

Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Noah survived the “Flood” and God made a Covenant with Noah and it extends to all life on the Earth.
Noah was six hundred years old when the “Flood” waters came on Earth (Genesis 7:6). Noah survived the “Flood” and God made a Covenant with Noah and it extends to all life on the Earth. Yet the same time, God makes no concession, and made no promise to extend the life-span which He decided to fix at 120 years.

In this account of Hebrew life histories, the author was not making any attempt to increase or decrease the life-spans of the Biblical characters to show any individualistic preferences. The Book of Genesis traces the genealogy of Abraham (originally called Abram) after the death of Noah at the age of 950 years.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The reproductive vigor continued to survive the aging process and Terah after living for 70 years, became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran (Genesis 11:26)
The reproductive vigor continued to survive despite the aging process and Terah after living for 70 years, became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran (Genesis 11:26).
And Terah, (father of Abram) lived 205 years and died (Genesis 11:32) and the Book of Genesis offers no further explanation for the shortened life-span of Terah.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The life history of Terah is highly relevant for he lived longer than Abraham with whom God made a Covenant.
The life history of Terah is highly relevant for he lived longer than Abraham with whom God made a Covenant and told him, “You, however will go to your fathers in peace, and be buried at a good old age.” (Genesis 15:15)
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: God promised Abraham a good old age and not a very long life-span. The life history of Terah is highly relevant for he lived longer than Abraham with whom God made a Covenant
The Promise of Good Old Age:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE HEBREW RECORD OF HUMAN LIFE HISTORY IS A VERY SIGNIFICANT DOCUMENT. LORD GOD CREATOR MADE SEVERAL PROMISES TO ABRAHAM, AND MOST PARTICULARLY THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE. GOD’S DECISION ABOUT MAN’S MORTALITY AND THE HUMAN LIFE-SPAN REMAINED THE SAME AS REVEALED IN THE BOOK OF GENESIS, CHAPTER 6, VERSE 3. THIS FACT BECOMES ABUNDANTLY CLEAR WHEN WE COMPARE THE LIFE-SPANS OF ABRAHAM WITH THAT OF TERAH HIS FATHER.
The relationship between age and longevity becomes very vivid in the life history of Abraham. He was fully aware of his old age and knew that he was childless and it could be impossible to have his own offspring with his wife Sarah while both of them had already experienced the effects of old age.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: God separated the problems of the Aging Process from His Promise of Good Old Age and blessed Abraham with numerous offspring. Abraham had a son named Ishmael through his wife’s maid-servant and was ninety-nine years old when he got circumcised.
Abraham had a son named Ishmael through his wife’s maid-servant and was ninety-nine years old when he got circumcised. Eventually, Abraham’s wife Sarah became pregnant and bore a son who was named Isaac.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age.
After Sarah’s death, Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah (Genesis 25:1). Around the same time, Abraham’s son Isaac had already reached the age of reproductive maturity and married Rebekah at the age of 40. Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age.
Altogether, Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years. Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years, and he was gathered to his people (Genesis 25:7-8).
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age. SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: GOD’S PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE WAS MADE TO ABRAHAM. ISAAC, THE SON OF ABRAHAM DIED AT 180 YEARS AGE AND HAD LIVED FOR FIVE ADDITIONAL YEARS AS COMPARED TO HIS FATHER. IN THIS PAINTING, ISAAC WAS GIVING HIS BLESSINGS TO JACOB AND HE WAS DECEIVED FOR HE BECAME BLIND ON ACCOUNT OF THE NATURAL AGING PROCESS.
The life history of Isaac is very interesting for he died at 180 years of age, 5 years longer as compared to his father Abraham. But, Isaac was not given the Promise of Good Old Age. The aging process gave him plenty of misery and he became blind and lost the ability to make the distinction between his two sons, the first-born Esau and the younger son Jacob.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: JACOB WHO IS ALSO KNOWN AS ISRAEL(PRINCE OF GOD) IS A GREAT NAME IN HEBREW HISTORY. HE LIVED FOR 147 YEARS. IN THIS PAINTING, JACOB IS SEEN BLESSING HIS SON JOSEPH. IN SPITE OF THESE BLESSINGS, JOSEPH LIVED TO THE AGE OF ONLY 110, THE SHORTEST LIFE-SPAN AMONG BIBLICAL HEBREW PEOPLE WHOSE LEGACY STILL LIVES.
It is important to note that the aging process had consequences and had adverse impacts on the lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Genesis 47:9. It is the most impressive, and truthful statement about the experience of the aging process that I read in the Book of Genesis.
The Book of Genesis, Chapter 47, verse 9 reflects the sense of disappointment felt by Jacob about his life-span; “Joseph brought his father Jacob in before Pharaoh. After Jacob blessed Pharaoh, Pharaoh asked him, ‘How old are you?’ And Jacob said to Pharaoh, ‘The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers.” It is the most impressive, and truthful statement about the experience of the aging process that I read in the Book of Genesis.
The Biblical Theory on Aging:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE BIBLICAL THEORY ON AGING BECOMES CLEAR IN THE NEW TESTAMENT BOOK OF REVELATION, CHAPTER 1, VERSE 14 IN WHICH JESUS CHRIST IS PORTRAYED WITH THE HAIR OF OLD AGE; “HIS HEAD AND HAIR WERE WHITE LIKE WOOL AS WHITE AS SNOW, AND HIS EYES WERE LIKE BLAZING FIRE.”
In the Book of Genesis, God created Adam as an adult and had blessed him and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. From that time, God instituted the universal Principle of Generation in which human reproduction is achieved by the union of an egg cell and sperm cell. From the moment called conception, the human organism uses an aging process to grow and to develop into a human being. If God had not driven Adam and Eve out of The Garden of Eden, they would still be living on Earth for they ate from “The Tree of Life.” To ensure man’s mortality, Adam was permanently banished from The Garden of Eden, but, he lived a long life. The aging process eventually caused Adam’s death. Later, God changed His mind; and this change was proclaimed in Genesis, Chapter 6, verse 3.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: God made a decision to limit the human life-span without exclusively depending upon the aging process which undermines man’s ability to live a long, fruitful life.
God made a decision to limit the human life-span without exclusively depending upon the aging process which undermines man’s ability to live a long, fruitful life. Apart from the reduced longevity, the Promise of Good Old Age given to Abraham was not extended to his offspring. Jesus who is a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, lived His mortal existence for a very short period and died before reaching old age. Jesus did not escape the natural aging phenomenon after His Resurrection.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Jesus who is a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, lived His mortal existence for a very short period and died before reaching old age. Jesus did not escape the natural aging phenomenon after His Resurrection.
This interpretation is supported by The New Testament Book Revelation, Chapter 1, verse 14 in which Jesus Christ is portrayed with the characteristic gray hair of old age; “His head and hair were white like wool as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.”
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Jesus Christ took a human birth and is experiencing an aging process even after the fact of his Resurrection after death.
Jesus Christ took a human birth and is experiencing an aging process even after the fact of his Resurrection after death. The aging process cannot undermine the Longevity of Jesus Christ for God promised man an Everlasting Life through Belief in Christ.

WHAT IS FOOD?
Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Spirituality: What is Food? Human Foods are divided into Classes and the basic nutritional goal is to have a Balanced Diet with items from all of the major Food Groups. The Balanced Diet may or may not provide the experience called ‘SATIATION’
Man is constituted as a Physical being that is made up of about 100 trillion individual living cells that are structurally and functionally differentiated as the tissues, organs and organ systems of the human body. Each living, individual cell is thermodynamically unstable. It means that the living system that is represented by the cell will dissolve into its non-living molecules and elements if not supplied energy from an external source. Food provides those energy-yielding molecules to energy-demanding molecules that constitute the Physical being.
Food is used as a general term to describe substances consumed by man for nourishment. Food is defined as any substance which a living organism can convert into its own living substance from which it grows and develops new tissue, manipulates energy, etc., using a process called ‘metabolism’. The term ‘nutrient’ is explained as a substance that serves as food, or provides nourishment. The term ‘nutrition’ refers to the process of feeding or being nourished. As mentioned earlier, all the tissues and organs of which the human body is composed, consists of building blocks called cells. Every cell contains a spherical body called nucleus and a ground material, living substance, or living matter called ‘protoplasm’. The most striking characteristic of protoplasm is its vital property called ‘Nutrition’. In Human Physiology, the term ‘Nutrition’ is used to describe the ‘power’ which protoplasm has of attracting to itself the materials that provide energy, and the substances for its growth and maintenance from surrounding matter or extracellular environment. Man must feed himself and yet he depends upon the ability of cells to recognize the specific nutrient substances and take action to absorb them and process them for further use.
Nutritional Science describes three major functions of food; 1. food generates energy for growth, maintenance and activity, 2. food supplies agents like vitamins and others that are needed to make or to help enzymes which carry out a variety of cellular processes, and 3. food provides the building materials like proteins and amino acids that are used for building cells and tissues of the body. The essential human nutrients are proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, and vitamins. Human body cannot synthesize some of these nutrients and they must be supplied. To make this easy for understanding, human foods are divided into classes and the basic nutritional goal is to have a ‘Balanced Diet’ with items from all of the major Food Groups to perform all the living functions such as the uptake and conversion of nutrients, making, breaking, and repairing of organic molecules, production of energy, and regulation and coordination of various metabolic sequences.
WHAT IS WHOLE FOOD?
Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Spirituality: What is Food? Human Foods are divided into Classes and the basic nutritional goal is to have a Balanced Diet with items from all of the major Food Groups. The Balanced Diet may or may not provide the experience called ‘SATIATION’ – This image called ‘MyPlate’ depicts important Food Groups such as Vegetables,Fruits, Grains, Proteins and Dairy. Could we be able to say that these substances together be called as WHOLE FOOD?
The term ‘WHOLE’ is often used to describe something that is entire or complete to signify that it has all the elements or parts constituting the entire amount and it is not broken, damaged, or defective. The term ‘WHOLE’ also means auspicious, healthy, or uninjured and not diseased. We need to define human being as a ‘Whole Person’ to understand the complete entity that exists as man. There are five aspects of ‘Whole Person’:1. Man-the Physical being, 2. Man-the Mental being, 3. Man- the Social being, 4. Man- the Moral being, and 5. Man-the Spiritual being. These five components have to come together to establish the reality of man’s biological existence in the physical world.
In the context of ‘Whole Food’, we need to find qualities that fit this description of being ‘Whole’ and its ability to perform all the functions that are attributed to Food. There is a huge growing concern about the substances that are added to food by food industry. The concern involves the use of synthetic or artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Food that may contain artificial colors, artificial flavors and chemical preservatives may not promote good health and are even suspected to cause injury or disease. Hence, the concept of ‘Whole Food’ demands the exclusion of such artificial colors and flavors and all synthetic preservatives from the food products used by man for his nutrition. Even when chemicals are not added to food, there is a concern about chemicals like synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and hormones that are used by the food and agriculture industry. It calls for understanding the term called ‘Natural Food’. To be called ‘natural’, food must not be exposed or tainted by chemicals that are not ‘naturally’ present in the substances that are consumed as Food. This concern is often reflected in the demand for ‘Organic Food’ that calls for the exclusion of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and growth hormones in the production of food. Apart from these considerations, the use of additives to change the taste, texture, and appearance of food have caused several health-related concerns. Some of them relate to the use of artificial sweeteners, and the use of partially hydrogenated oils. To qualify as ‘Whole Food’, it may require the exclusion of artificial sweeteners and the so-called ‘transfats’ from food. This concern is also extended to genetically modified organisms or GMOs that have become common. The genetically modified trait may impart some benefit to the substance and yet it may not qualify to be described as ‘Whole Food’.
Whole Food – Whole Satisfaction:
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Phytochemistry: Quinoa seeds are Gluten-Free. It is also Cholesterol-free, low-fat, and high in protein. Throughout the ages many foods have been considered sexual stimulants. Quinoa has a special reason to be recognized as an Aphrodisiac, a chemical agent that can enhance sexual performance. Such a claim can be based upon the study of Polyamines found in its leaves and seeds.
Man is constituted to exist as a Mental being. Man relates to himself, his physical body with the help of his thoughts and moods. It seems that man often tries to discover his ‘essence’ or true identity not in his physical, living substance, but by knowing his ideas, thoughts, and imagination which describes his physical identity. These mental concepts that relate to identity are always associated with emotional feelings and moods that give meaning to the living condition or living state. Food provides substances to constitute the body and it also affects man’s thoughts and moods. The problems related to man’s feeding behavior will not be eliminated by supplying him what could be defined as ‘Balanced Diet’.
The health problems associated with food consumption and caloric intake seem to persist even when man consumes ‘Balanced Diet’. It calls for further understanding of the functions of Food and we have to define the term ‘Whole Food’ by sharing the ‘Whole Story’ about Food and its role in human life. There are two important aspects of Food that are not taken into consideration by Nutritional Science. The Law may require that food products that are sold by retail food stores or grocery stores must provide adequate ‘Nutritional Information’. The products are labeled to provide information about the ingredients, allergens, and nutritional facts to help the consumer of food to make an informed choice about the food that is consumed. Such nutritional choices are helpful and yet there is a problem about the Food. There are two roles performed by Food and the concept of ‘Whole Food’ may have to give recognition to the role of Food apart from its function as the supply of nutrients. Food has to provide Satiation or the experience of mental contentment or psychological satisfaction from its consumption.
Whole Food – Whole Community:
Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Spirituality: Man is the natural host of trillions of microbes. It adds a new dimension to the social aspects of man’s existence in the natural world
Man is constituted to exist as a Social being. Man’s growth and development demands social support. Man as a biological living entity could only be described as an association of trillions of individual cells. At the same time, there are about 10 times 100 trillion microbes that inhabit the human gastrointestinal tract. Man is a natural host and there is a mutually beneficial relationship between man the host, and the microbes that reside in his body. During the entire course of his life, man shares his food and drink with the guests who have taken residence in his body. These guests perform the function of an internal organ system and are important for man’s health and well-being. Man will always exist as a member of a Biotic or Biological community without any chance of true independence. This understanding is promoting the consumption of foods that are popularly termed as ‘PROBIOTIC’. Man to support his health and well-being has to consume some living organisms on a regular basis to replenish the microbes that are lost due to excretion.
Food plays a vital role in the development, and the maintenance of social interactions, and social relationships.Food-directed activities of man often need social situations and social bonding. Food has the intrinsic ability to nurture a relationship between the provider of the food and the food consumer. At the same time, there is a direct emotional relationship between man and the Food he consumes. Man derives emotional satisfaction called ‘Satiation’ when he consumes Food. It contributes to satisfaction or a sense of mental contentment to shape his living experience. Man lives to experience satisfaction or mental contentment by gratifying his desires or cravings. Food craving is very important part of man’s life and biological existence. Balanced Diet may or may not provide the psychological contentment that man wants to derive by consuming Food. Such satisfaction demands social bonding between man and the food and between man and his provider of food. Hence, we have to develop our understanding of Food as a medium or as a substance that has the potency to develop and form relationships, association, connection, and bonding between man and his social community and environment in which man exists, and by the consumption of ‘Whole Food’ man may find ‘Whole Satisfaction’ in his living experience.
Food = Energy = Life = Whole Ecology:
Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Planet – Whole Family – Whole Spirituality : Salutations to Mother Annapurna. The name Annapurna is the Original Source of Whole or Purna Concept (Always Full, Complete and Perfect). My mother’s name is the equivalent of Whole Food.Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Life -Whole Spirituality: Food is the medium through which interrelatedness, interdependence, and the interconnectedness of living organisms is expressed.
Man is constituted to exist as a Spiritual being. The term Spiritual refers to relationships that are based upon feelings of sympathy and understanding. Man has to define the spiritual basis of his relationship with the rest of the biological community and the physical environment that is common to all of them. Ecology is the Science that is concerned with the relation between organisms and their environment. ‘Food Chain’ in Ecology describes the sequence of transfers of matter and energy from organism to organism in the form of food. Food is the medium through which interrelatedness, interdependence, and the interconnectedness of organisms that are members of an Ecological System is expressed. A balanced growth of organisms that are connected in an Ecosystem demands the concept of ‘Sustainable Development’. Natural resources have to be used wisely to sustain the qualities of environment that support living systems.
Man needs food for his nourishment and to find this nourishment, man may have to stop environmental pollution and degradation that may upset the delicate Ecological Balance that operates in Nature. The manner in which man acquires energy-yielding molecules from his environment will define man’s definition of Food.
Whole Food – Whole Morality:
Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Planet – Whole Family – Whole Spirituality: Salutations to Mother Annapurna. The name Annapurna is the Original Source of Whole or Purna Concept (Always Full, Complete and Perfect). My mother’s name is the equivalent of Whole Food.
Man is constituted to exist as a Moral Being. Man is intrinsically endowed with a nature that displays the ability called discernment. Man has the ability to choose right conduct and right behavior as he has the ability to discern right from wrong, and distinguish good from bad. This human nature called discernment is related to the nature of the living substance or living matter called protoplasm. I have described its vital property called the Power of Nutrition. It uses this power with a sense of discernment. Protoplasm while attracting substances found in its external environment, it uses a very selective uptake process. Some substances are accepted and tolerated and some are rejected. It expresses intolerance to the presence of certain substances and its response may cause a severe and sometimes life-threatening allergic reaction.
Man has no ability to consume all substances as Food. Man has to know about good and bad food choices, and man has to know as to which food is right and as to which food is wrong. Human beings acting individually and collectively have developed ‘Food Culture’ and Food Traditions to express their moral and ethical principles in all of their food-directed activities and behavior. In recent times, these concerns have developed into ideas such as ‘FAIR-TRADE’, ‘WHOLE-TRADE’ and ‘ECO-TRADE’. There is a growing genuine moral and ethical concern to support the living conditions of people and communities involved in growing Food. There is a growing interest to consume Food that is called ‘LOCAL’; food that is grown or manufactured in the local communities. Man must consume Food for his living and he may have to do it in a morally and ethically responsible manner. These concerns have generated the demand for ethical and compassionate treatment of all animals used as Food for human consumption. Food and Agriculture Industry are developing standards for Compassionate Treatment of Animals. The concept of ‘Whole Food’ would include the moral and ethical principles that man would apply to define his food-related behavior.

Food is defined as any substance which a living organism can convert into its own living substance or living matter called protoplasm, the physical basis of Life. This substance could be viewed as a spiritual substance as it has the potency to formulate functional harmony and mutually beneficial relationship among the cells, tissues, and organ systems that grow and develop using the energy and organic molecules synthesized by protoplasm. The concept of ‘Whole Food’ will naturally include the concept of Food as a Whole Spiritual Substance that must be treated with respect and devotion. Such an attitude of respect and devotion would help man to use Food as a Spiritual Medium to establish a Connection, a Relationship, an Association, a Partnership, and Bonding between the Food Consumer and the Divine Providence.

I define the term ‘Whole Food’ as follows taking into consideration the five aspects of the role of Food in supporting the biological existence of man in his community, and environment as no man is truly capable of independent existence that excludes the social community and the physical environment in which he exists:
1. Whole Food provides the nutritional substances for the Physical well-being of man and supports his living functions.
2. Whole Food provides the satisfaction, the mental contentment that man needs to support his Mental well-being.
3. Whole Food provides the stimulus for social relationships and social bonding that man needs to support his Social well-being.
4. Whole Food provides the ability to man to express his moral and ethical principles to support his Moral well-being.
5. Whole Food provides the Spiritual basis for man’s relationship with Divine Providence to support the Spiritual well-being of man.
Whole Dude – Whole Food – Whole Spirituality
Whole Food is the nutritional substance that supports man’s Physical, Mental, Social, Moral, and Spiritual well-being. These five components of well-being are important to have the experience of Peace, Harmony, and Tranquility in human Life. There is no Joy in Life and there is no Happiness in Mind, and there will be no Love in Heart until man finds Peace, Harmony, and Tranquility in the Living Experience. I say that, Whole Food gives man the experience of Whole Life; a Life of Satisfaction, Contentment, Happiness, and Joy.

Excerpt: The Michigan Medicine AHEAD study is examining the efficacy of a medication aimed at preventing Alzheimer’s Disease in individuals at increased risk of developing the disease. The study has, however, faced criticism regarding its focus on years of schooling and its lack of a research protocol to verify the identity and individuality of the human organism. Critics assert that biological processes like the flow of biological information and protein synthesis are not influenced by education level and that individuality should not be tied to factors such as race and ethnicity. The conceptualization of “life as knowledge in action” and that it is an interplay of cellular function and knowledge must be explored.

The AHEAD Study is researching the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in people who might be at increased risk for developing memory loss associated with Alzheimer’s Disease. The study is looking for participants age 55-80 years old, who have generally normal memory function in daily life, and who are not being treated for memory problems. For individuals age 55-64 years old, an additional risk factor is required, such as a parent or sibling with Alzheimer’s Disease or previous biomarker testing showing increased risk for developing Alzheimer’s Disease. This study sees participants in Ann Arbor. Contact Lauren Mackenzie at spearsl@med.umich.edu or 734-232-2415.

On Tuesday, December 05, 2023, at the Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) at the Cardiovascular Center (CVC), I was interviewed for participating in the AHEAD Study and I completed the Stage 1A of the Screening process. I am asked to provide information about the most important occupation of my life, my sexual orientation, my race and ethnicity in the context of my place of birth and the country of origin, the total number of years I spent in the School to register my personal identity for participation in the Medical Research Project. The Research Protocol has not identified the basis for discovering the identity of a multicellular human organism. I can answer the questions I am asked. Do I have the ability to communicate my answers to the cells of my own body and reflect that identity in the living functions they perform to keep me alive?

The Rudolf-Rudi Connection formulates a Theory of Human Existence that refutes the doctrine of Existentialism
Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods. The Rudolf-Rudi Connection formulates a Theory of Human Existence that refutes the doctrine of Existentialism.
Yes indeed, Life is complicated. The complexities of Life involve knowing What You Are (Essence) and What You Do (Existence). But, Existence precedes Essence.
Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods. What is Matter? and What is Spirit? If materialism is about the influence of material wealth, I would like to use the Power/Force/Energy called Money to talk about Life and Death. The Laws of Conservation are applicable to both the living, and the non-living matter. Hence, it can be stated that “Life can neither be created nor destroyed.” If any person can refute my claim using valid, scientific information, I would give the person a US $1,000 bill as a reward.
What it is to be a Substance? and What it is to Exist? We need to establish knowledge about the man on a firm basis and the information it provides must be tested for its accuracy and consistency with an external reality. We have to make the fundamental distinction between the living and the non-living matter. The scientific advances of the 19th and 20th centuries reinforced the materialistic position concerning the basic similarity of organic living and inorganic physical matter. The man is viewed as a product of natural evolution and is thought to be subject to the same laws of Physics and Chemistry or mechanistic principles.
We need a methodology to study philosophy and to understand philosophical statements. Logical Positivism, also known as Scientific Empiricism aims to clarify concepts in both everyday and scientific language. It describes analysis of language as the function of philosophy. This analysis of language and of concepts is important to understand questions of belief and ideology which affect what we think we ought to do individually and socially. I use this method of ‘Applied Philosophy’ to analyze the philosophical doctrine of ‘Existentialism’ and to study the views and philosophy of Jean Paul Sartre and his efforts to interpret the human nature and the human existence.
Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods. The Vitruvian Man c. 1492. The painting by Leonardo da Vinci displays the spirit of scientific inquiry. We must investigate the biological basis of Human Existence to know about Human Nature. The Nature is a reflection of the potency that keeps the Object existing.
What is man? The motivation for asking this question comes from a statement expressed in Sanskrit language, “Sarvesham Swastir Bhavatu”, which seeks the well-being of all humans, of all races, of all religions, of all cultures, and of all nations. Our efforts to support the well-being of man would be affected by our understanding the ‘real’ or ‘true’ nature of man. All human traditions, including religious, cultural, literary, philosophical, and scientific traditions make assumptions about human nature. The basic assumption about human nature is that of finding it displayed in thoughts, feelings, moods, and the actions and the behaviors that proceed from such mental states of the human individual.
I ask my readers to discover Human nature by understanding the biological basis for human existence. Human nature is a reflection of that potency that keeps the human object existing. To describe human nature from mental life or mental states of an individual causes Subject-Object Dualism. I try to know human nature by knowing the characteristics of the substance that exists. The substance when it performs its functions, the characteristics of its behavior could be observed in biotic interactions, the interactions of the cells, the tissues, the organs and the organ systems that constitute the human organism. I try to discover human nature of a subject who objectively exists because of the functions of the cells, the tissues, organs and organ systems that provide the basis for that existence.
Existentialism – The Philosophy of Human Existence:
Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods. Jean Paul Sartre (1905 – 1980), French novelist, playwright, and exponent of Existentialism.
The philosophical focus of Existentialism is concerned with the uniqueness of the individual human being, the meaning or purpose of human life as a subjective experience, and with the freedom of human individual. Sartre believed in the ability of every person to choose for himself his attitudes, purposes, values, and a way of life. Sartre’s thesis is that humans are essentially free, free to choose (though not free not to choose) and free to negate the given features of the world. In his novel, “Being and Nothingness” (1943), Sartre expresses an opinion that the only ‘authentic’ and genuine way of life is that freely chosen by each individual for himself. Sartre’s driving belief in Radical Freedom involves the ability to choose not only a course of action but also what one would become. According to Sartre, man is truly free, the world, whether material or social can place no constraints on him, not even to the extent of determining what would or would not be good reasons for following a given course of action. Sartre thought that there are no transcendent or objective values set for human beings and that there is no ultimate meaning or purpose inherent in human life. Sartre insists that the only foundation for values is human freedom and that there can be no external or objective justification for the values anyone chooses to adopt.
Human Consciousness and Human Existence:
Sartre divides the being, the existing realities into two categories;1. one category is called being- in-itself (L’etre- en-soi) which comprises the inanimate things such as rocks, and 2. the second category is being- for-itself (L’etre- pour-soi) which comprises beings that have feelings such as human beings. Sartre has effectively excluded a vast majority of living organisms from the category that he called being-for-itself. Sartre understands consciousness as an ability to know or be aware of feelings. His view is only partly correct. The true function of consciousness is awareness of the state, condition, and the fact of living. Hence, this Amoeba proteus is a conscious entity while it is living in its given environment.
Sartre makes a radical distinction between consciousness (L’etre-pour- soi, being-for-itself) and non-conscious objects (L’etre-en-soi, being-in-itself). Though it is correct that human beings have emotional feelings, thoughts, and moods, the nature of consciousness is the same in all living entities. The presence or absence of feelings is of no consideration to make the fundamental distinction between inanimate and animate beings. He focused on the opposition between objective things and human consciousness. This basic dualism is shown by the fact that consciousness necessarily has an object; it is always consciousness of something which is not itself. Consciousness makes the distinction between itself and its object. Sartre makes a conceptual connection between consciousness and nothingness. Human consciousness is a non-thing as its reality consists in standing back from things and taking a point of view on them. Because consciousness is a non-thing (Sartre’s “neant” literally means “nothingness”), it does not have any of the causal involvements that things have with other things. This means that consciousness and thus humans themselves are essentially free. In Sartre’s view, to pretend that we are not free is that of self-deception or bad faith (mauvaise foi). According to Sartre, the freedom of human consciousness is experienced by humans as a burden and it causes anguish. Sartre’s most basic point is that to be conscious is to be ‘free’.
In my view, the physiological function called consciousness primarily involves the awareness of my own energy dependent existence at a given particular time and place. In other words, I am Conscious for I know that I am not Free. Sartre’s concept of human freedom is a simple mental entity and it involves the freedom of imagination. However, man has a very limited freedom to convert his imagination into an external actuality. The man lacks total freedom and has no true freedom as he does not directly rule or govern even a single cell in his body which comprises of trillions of individual living cells which have functional autonomy and are independent entities while being part of a group.
Human Consciousness and Human Freedom:
Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods.Human Consciousness and Human Freedom – Sartre contends that we can never be just objects to be observed and accurately described. However, Biology describes man as a multicellular organism, man can view a cell from his own body and then the Subject viewing the Object and the Object that is viewed are the same and the Subject can accurately describe the Object. I observe cell structure and functions to understand human consciousness and human freedom.
I disagree with the view shared by Sartre and various others about the nature of human consciousness. The problem involves the description of consciousness as a mental function. Consciousness is a neurobiological function, and more importantly it is the basic living function. The living cell is aware or conscious of the fact of its own existence, it is conscious of itself and its internal condition, and it is conscious of its external environment and objects found in its external environment. Hence, consciousness must be described as a biological characteristic of living cells and living organisms. Consciousness describes the nature of the substance that is living, the matter that lives and is known as living matter. The living matter is conscious of its internal condition, a condition that demands the supply of energy from an external source to keep its existence. The biological properties of motion, and nutrition come into play because of this biological characteristic called consciousness. Hence it is a vital, or animating principle of all living cells and living organisms. The living cell because of its consciousness knows its nature of energy dependent existence and uses its power of motion and nutrition to attract substances found in its external environment to perform all other living functions to support its growth and maintenance. The fact of energy dependent existence and the consciousness of that conditioned existence displays the lack of human freedom in matters that pertain to human existence. A complex human living system exists because of harmonious interactions, partnership, relationship, and association between the cells, the tissues, the organs, and the organ systems that constitute the human individual. These biotic interactions display behavioral characteristics such as mutual assistance, mutual cooperation, mutual tolerance, mutual subservience, mutual functional subordination to provide benefits to each other to support the survival and reproductive success of each other. There is sympathy, compassion, and understanding for the needs of each other, the participants of a biotic or biological community or association of living cells that comprise the human person.
I observe the human organism and I can accurately describe that Spiritualism is the chief attribute of human existence and human nature. The man has no freedom and the man has no choice other than that of existing as a Spiritual Being. It is ironic that the man has no cortical or mental awareness of the spiritual nature of his own body and the substance that lives because of its nature. By seeking awareness of the underlying spiritual nature, the man will be able to live in harmony and peace within himself and with others in his environment. I agree with the view of Sartre and suggest that man’s existence precedes his essence. Sartre has failed to contemplate upon the biological basis of human existence and hence could not describe the reality of human essence and human nature. The Subjective Reality of physical existence precedes and defines the nature of human being. Who you are (your Essence) is defined by what you do (your Existence). To know the man’s essence, to describe the human nature, we need a man who is existing. If there is no living, physical being called man, it would serve us no purpose to know its nature or essence. In Spiritualism, the man’s essence and existence come together to establish the purpose of man in Life.
THE ART OF RECEIVING AND THE ART OF GIVING:
Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods. Ecology is the Science that deals with the relations between living organisms and their environment. Humans as individuals and as social or national groups have to make adjustments to their geographical, social, and biotic environments to live in peace and harmony. The Art of Receiving and The Art of Giving is inescapable and is inevitable consequence of human living and human life.
Sir Winston Churchill said, “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.” To add clarity to this quote, I would like to say that human existence depends upon receiving energy from an external source. Human nature involves sharing that energy with others. The human person comprises of about 100 trillion individual, living cells and at the same time there are about 10 times 100 trillion microorganisms that inhabit the human gastrointestinal tract. There is a mutually beneficial relationship between man the host and the microbes that inhabit the gastrointestinal tract. These microbes receive a fair share of energy and material that man consumes as food and drink. This relationship persists during the entire course of man’s life. If receiving is inescapable, giving is inevitable consequence of human living and human life. Spiritualism is the potency that gives the man the ability to Receive and to Give to others.

In Biology, cell is the basic or fundamental unit of structure, function, and organization in all living things or it is the building block of life. Let me begin with my respectful tribute to some of the people who contributed to ‘The Cell Theory’, one of the foundations of Biological Sciences. Cells were first observed in the 17th century shortly after the discovery of the microscope. Robert Hooke, british curator of instruments at The Royal Society of London, during 1665 coined the word cell. Dutch microscopist Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) made over 247 microscopes and examined microorganisms and tissue samples. He gave the first complete descriptions of bacteria, protozoa (which he called animalcules), spermatozoa, and striped muscle. He also studied capillary circulation and observed Red Blood Cells.

Improvements in microscopy during early 19th century permitted closer observation and the significance of cells had received better understanding. Matthias Jakob Schleiden (1838), German botanist, Theodor Schwann (1839), German physiologist, and Rudolf Virchow (1855), German pathologist, and others made important contributions to the Cell Theory that describes cell as the building block of all Life.

The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods.Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Rudolf Virchow, German pathologist in 1855 coined the biological dictum “OMNIS CELLULA E CELLULA” – All living cells arise only from pre-existing living cells.
The Cell is the smallest unit in the living organism that is capable of carrying on the essential life processes of sustaining metabolism for producing energy and reproducing. Many simple, small, single-celled organisms like Protozoa perform all life functions. In higher, complex, bigger, multicellular organisms, groups of cells are structurally and functionally differentiated into specialized tissues and organ systems. Thus, the Cell Theory includes the following foundational principles of the Biological Sciences:
1. All living things are made up of cells. Cell is the most elementary or basic unit of Life.
2. Cell is a fundamental unit of structure, function, and organization in all living things including plants and animals.
3. Cells only rise from division of previously existing cells.
4. All cells are similar in composition, form, and function. All cells are basically the same in chemical composition (in spite of variations) in organisms of similar species. For example, all the solid tissues in the human body can be shown to consist largely of similar cells; differing it is true, but that are essentially similar to an Ovum.
5. The cells exhibit functional autonomy. The activity of an organism depends on the total activity of ‘INDEPENDENT’ cells.
6. Energy flow (metabolism and biochemistry) occurs within cells.
7. Cells contain hereditary, biological information (DNA) which is passed from cell to cell during cell division.

The basic or fundamental unit of life in the human organism is derived from the fertilized egg cell that eventually develops into a complete organism. The most significant feature of similarity between the cells of the human body is the presence of a soft, gelatinous, semi-fluid, granular material inside the cell. This substance known as Protoplasm or Cytoplasm, or Cytosol is similar to the ground substance found in the Ovum or the Egg Cell.

This viscous, translucent, colloidal substance is enclosed in a membrane called Cell Membrane, Plasma Membrane or Biological Membrane. A small spherical body called nucleus is embedded in the Protoplasm of the cell. The three essential features of any living cell in the human body are that of the presence of protoplasm, the nucleus, and the cell membrane.

Purkinje (1839) gave the name protoplasm (Gr., Protos- primitive or first, plasma- substance) to the contents of the cells. This theory states that the cell is an accumulation of living substance or protoplasm, definitely limited in space and possessing a nucleus and a cell membrane .Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? I seek the existence of Soul or Spirit in a substance that is basic to life activities, and in a material that is responsible for all living processes. I, therefore, propose that the understanding of the true or real nature of this ground substance of all living matter will help man to discover peace, harmony, and tranquility in all of his internal and external relationships while man exists in a physical environment as a member of a social group, social community, and Society. In this blog post, I would like to pay my respectful tribute to Jan Evangelista Purkinje and Hugo Von Mohl for their great contribution to the scientific understanding of the living substance, living material, and living matter.

Jan Evangelista Purkyne (Czech name), Jan Evangelista Purkinje (German name)also known as Johannes Evangelist Purkinje, b. December 17, 1787, d. July 28, 1869. The pioneer Czech experimental Physiologist whose investigations in the fields of Histology, Embryology, and Pharmacology helped create a modern understanding of the eye and vision, brain and heart function, mammalian reproduction, and the composition of cells.
Purkinje conducted his research on human vision at the University of Prague and later on, he served there as a Professor of Physiology (1850-69). He went to Germany and was appointed the Chair of Physiology and Pathology (1823-50) at the University of Breslau, Prussia. There Purkinje created the world’s first independent Department of Physiology (1839) and the first Physiological Laboratory (Physiological Institute, 1842). He is best known for his discovery of large nerve cells with many branching extensions found in the cortex of Cerebellum of the brain (Purkinje Cells, 1837). He discovered the fibrous tissue that conducts electrical impulses from the ‘pacemaker’ called Atrioventricular node or A-V node along the inside walls of the ventricles to all parts of the heart to help in Cardiac contractile function (Purkinje Fibers, 1839). In 1835, he invented and introduced the scientific term ‘Protoplasm’ to describe the ground substance found inside young animal embryo cells. He discovered the sweat glands of the skin (1833); he discovered the nine configuration groups of Fingerprints used in biometric identification of man (1823); he described the germinal vesicle or nucleus of the unripe ovum that now bears his name (1825), and he noted the protein digesting power of pancreatic extracts (1836).

April 01, 1872, German Botanist noted for his research on the anatomy and physiology of plant cells.
Hugo Von Mohl named the granular, colloidal material that made up the main substance of the plant cell as “Protoplasm” in 1846. Purkinje invented the word, but Hugo gave more clarity, understanding, and knowing the nature of this ground substance. He viewed cell as an “elementary organ” and in Physiology he explained Protoplasm as an organ of Motion or Movement, Nutrition, and Reproduction. It is the preliminary material in cellular generation. He was the first to propose that new cells are formed by division of preexisting cells and he had observed this process of Cell Division in the algal cells of Conferva glomerata. His observations are very important to understand the Cell Theory that explains cells as the basic building blocks of Life. He was the first to investigate the phenomenon of the stomatal openings in leaves.

Cells use unique proteins, biological molecules and receptor sites to recognize the other living cells and use chemical signals to facilitate the interactions. Such interactions between living cells have the characteristics of consciousness or awareness.Michigan Medicine asks, What is the Most Important Occupation of Your Life? The Answer is Grocery Clerk at Whole Foods. The Rudolf-Rudi Connection at Whole Foods. God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality. Cytoplasmic Membrane or Cell Membrane is an integral feature of Cytoplasm, a limiting membrane devised by Cytoplasm to create boundaries to perform its numerous living functions.
The Functions of Cytoplasmic Membrane or Cell Membrane or Biological Membrane:
1. Protection: It protects the cell from its surroundings or extracellular environment. Plant cell possess wall over the plasma membrane for extra protection and support.
2. Holding cell contents: Plasma membranes hold the semi fluid protoplasmic contents of the cell intact; thus keeping the individuality of the cell.
3. Selective Permeability: Cell membrane allows only selected or specific substances to enter into the cell and are impermeable to others.
Gases like O2 and CO2 can diffuse rapidly in solution through membranes.
Small compounds like H2O and methane can easily pass through where as sugars, amino acids and charged ions are transported with the help of transport proteins.
The size of the molecules which can pass through the plasma membrane is 1-15 A0. This property is responsible for keeping a cell ‘as a cell’, an individual unit.
4. Shape: It maintains form and shape of the cell. It serves as site of anchorage or attachment of the cytoskeleton; thus providing shape to the cell (especially in animal cells without cell wall).
5. Organelles: Cell membrane delimits or covers all sub-cellular structures or organelles like nucleus, mitochondria, plastids, Golgi apparatus, endoplasmic reticulum, microbodies etc. thus protecting them form the surroundings and also helps in maintaining a constant internal environment.
6. Compartmentalization: Cell membrane separate the cells from their external environment and cell organelle from cytosol. It help the cells and their organelles to have their own microenvironments, structural and functional individuality.
7. Cell Recognition: With the help of glycolipids and glycoproteins on its surface, cell membranes are able to differentiate similar cells from dissimilar ones, foreign substances and cells own materials. Cell recognition is useful for tissue formation and defence against microbes.
8. Antigens: Cell membranes possess antigens which determine blood grouping, immune response, acceptance or rejection of a transplant (graft rejection by MHC’s on plasma membrane).
9. Microvilli: They are microscopic finger like projections of plasma membrane present on some cells like intestinal epithelial cells, which are involved in a wide variety of functions, including increasing surface area for absorption, secretion, cellular adhesion etc.
10. Sheaths of cilia and flagella: Cilia and flagella are projections from the cell; made up of microtubules which are covered by an extension of the plasma membrane.
11. Cytoplasmic bridges in plasmodesmata and gap junctions: Plasmodesmata in plant cells and gap junctions in animal cells; meant for intercellular transport and communication, form cytoplasmic bridges between adjacent cells through plasma membrane.
12. Endocytosis and Exocytosis: Bulk intake of materials or endocytosis occurs through development of membrane vesicles or invagination and engulfing by plasma membrane.
Exocytosis: It is reverse of endocytosis that provides for releasing waste products and secretory materials ot of the cells with the help of plasma membrane.
13. Impulse transmission in neurons: The transmission of a nerve impulse along a neuron from one end to the other occurs as a result of electrical changes across the plasma membrane of the neuron
14. Cell metabolism: Cell membranes control cell metabolism through selective permeability and retentivity of substances in a cell.
15. Electron transport chain in bacteria: In bacteria; Electron transport chain is located in cell membrane.
16. Osmosis through cell membrane: It is movement of solvent molecules (generally water) from the region of less concentrated solution to the region of high concentrated solution through a semi permeable membrane. Here the semi permeable membrane that helps in osmosis is the cell membrane. Eg: Root cells take up water from the soil by osmosis
17. Carrier proteins for active transport: They occur in the cell membranes and control active transport of substances. Example, GLUT1 is a named carrier protein found in almost all animal cell membranes that transports glucose across the bilayer or plasma membrane.
18. Plasma Membrane enzymes: Many enzymes are present on the plasma membrane with wide variety of catalytic activity. Example: Red blood cell plasma membranes contain a number of enzymes such as ATPases, anion transport protein, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, protein kinases, adenylate cyclase, acetylcholinesterase.
19. Cell Membrane Receptors: Receptor on the plasma membrane performs signal transduction, converting an extracellular signal into an intra-cellular signal. Membrane possess receptors for hormones, neurotransmitters, antibodies and several other biochemicals.
20. Plasma membrane assisted Cell movements: Undulation and pseudopodia are cell membrane phenomenon involved in cell movement. Amoeba, macrophages and WBCs move with the helps of temporary organelles like pseudopodia. Pseudopods are temporary cytoplasmic projections of the cell membrane in certain unicellular protists such as Amoeba. Some mammalian cells such as fibroblasts can move over a solid surface by wave like undulations of the plasma membrane.
The Ground Substance of Spiritualism and Spirituality. The vital characteristics, the animating principles of Protoplasm could be known by observing Amoeba proteus. The Living Substance works as an organ of Motion or Movement, as an organ of Nutrition, and as an organ of Reproduction to generate new cells which have a life span of their own. In these physiological functions, I describe the characteristics such as Cognition, Consciousness, Memory, and Intelligence as spiritual attributes of Life as they bring functional unity and harmony in the interactions between different parts of the same individual organism while it exists in an environment as a member of a biological community.

The Single Fertilized Egg Cell has ground substance that is of Spiritual nature and the Spiritualism and Spirituality consists of the following functional, and organizational characteristics:
1. The Cell is Conscious of its own existence and knows its internal condition and knows it external environment.
2. The Cell is intelligent and it has the cognitive abilities like perception and memory to acquire information, to retain information, to recall information, and to use information in the performance of its complex tasks in a sequential manner.
3. The Cell has the ability to show characteristics such as mutual cooperation, mutual tolerance, and display functional subordination and subservience while being independent.
4. The Cell grows, divides, and develops into a complete organism while it acquires substances and energy from an external environment. The power of Protoplasm/Cytoplasm to attract matter found in its external environment is called Nutrition. The Cell continuously transforms matter to build matter of its own kind for its own benefit to sustain its existence with its own identity and individuality. The Organism represents a social group or a biological community of Cells. The Spiritual nature of Protoplasm/Cytoplasm brings this functional harmony and unity in the Social Group or Biotic Community of Cells by bringing together its Essence and Existence.
5. The Cell Theory is incomplete for it does not describe the conditioned nature of the Cell’s existence. The Cell represents a Living System that is thermodynamically unstable. It requires a constant supply of matter and energy from its external environment to sustain its living functions. The concept of Whole Spirituality formulates the connection between the Cell and its external source of matter and energy.

Whole Dude – Whole Eternal: River Ganga meandering through the Shivalik ranges near Rishikesh symbolizes my WAVE THEORY OF IMMORTALITY. Man always exists in constant relationship with his physical environment. Immortality is not about perpetual residence in a Heavenly Mansion. Immortality is associated with the idea of Ultimate Reality which is represented by SAT+CHIT+ANANDA. In this physical world, the Indian Identity is immortalized by the flowing River adoringly described as Mother Ganges.Whole Dude – Whole Eternal: The Land personified as Bharat is immortalized by the River Ganges that flows down this Land.
Tarangini – A Flowing River or Stream – River Ganga or Ganges emerging from the Shivalik Hills, Rishikesh. She symbolizes an immortal stream of thoughts, ideas, and mental conceptions that drench the soils of the Land of Bharat and the minds of its inhabitants.
How can a Man survive after his death?
This is not a discussion about “Afterlife”, or “Hereafter”. This is not a discussion about death, resurrection and then “EverlastingLife.” This is not a discussion about man’s historical legacy, his enduring fame after death, or about his perpetual existence in a Heavenly Mansion after his physical death. This is also not a discussion about transmigration or reincarnation of the humansoul.
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
The concept of immortality describes deathlessness or the idea of “Lasting forever”. In the material realm, everything that is born must die. The fleeting experience of human existence is often compared to the existence of an air bubble on the surface of a Lotus leaf. The material body cannot enter the immaterial realm. Only a “Tarang” or a ‘Wave’ that is not attached to any physical or material entity, a Wave that is set free and remains in motion, could make the transition and journey into the immortal realm. Does Individuality survive the physical death of the Individual?
Whole Dude – Whole Eternal: Transient Being vs Eternal Being
What it is to be a Substance? and What it is to Exist?

I use this method of ‘Analytic Philosophy’ to analyze the concept of Spiritual Optics, the Spiritual dimension of the Man’s experience of Life in the Natural World. There are two facets of the man’s experience of his own existence. These are, 1. The Identity which keeps changing or varying over the entire lifetime, and 2. The Individuality which continues to be the same without changing under the influence of time. The man can be presented as the constantly changing or varying, transitory, mortal, physical being on the basis of his Identity and on the flip side there is the dimension of unvarying, unchanging, constant, and eternal being defined by his Individuality.

The Lotus Effect -The Two Facets of Lotus Flower
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
Botanist Wilhelm Barthlott of the University of Bonn in Germany discovered in 1982 that the lotus leaf has a naturally self-cleaning, water-repellent surface. The secret lies in waxy microstructures and nanostructures that, by their contact angle with water, cause water to bead and roll away just like mercury. Barthlott patented his discovery, calling it the Lotus Effect.
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
While Barthlott takes credit for his discovery of the waxy surface of the lotus leaf, Indians have known the Lotus, an aquatic plant, for a very long time. Lord Vishnu, the Protector always carries a Lotus flower in his hand, He is generally depicted in images in a lying pose with a lotus springing out of His belly button, His eyes are always compared to the petals of the Lotus flower and His consort Goddess Lakshmi prefers to be seated on top of a Lotus flower. Indians use the Lotus flower for their worship and in Indian Art and Literature, Lotus finds a prominent place and the Lotus is given the official status of the National Flower. Indians are also equally impressed about the waxy nature of the surface of the lotus leaf and they know that the surface causes the water to bead and the drops rollaway with great ease. This phenomenon is very often used to describe the transient nature of human existence.
But, the Lotus is the only flower that is constantly held in the hand of Eternal God.
Two Faces of the Coin – Two Facets of Existence:
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. If Identity described by the Phenotype establishes one face of the Coin, the Individuality describes the second face of the same coin and is established by the Genotype. The same Individual with the same Genotype exists as different Individuals with varying features of Identification. Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. Identity and Individuality are the two sides of the same Coin. The Phenotype establishes the Identity, and the Genotype establishes the Individuality of a Living Cell or of a Living Organism.Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
The coins that we use are minted with two different faces and we need to flip the coin to see the face on the opposite side. So also, human existence has its two sides, an eternal entity and at the same time a transient, perishable, temporary, ephemeral, fleeting, and finite entity. I would refer to the following two verses to illustrate this view-point.
THE BHAGAVAD GITA, CHAPTER II, VERSE 13:
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
“As the embodied soul continually passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth, and then to old age, similarly, the soul also passes into another body at death. The self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change”.
Since every living entity is an individual soul, each is changing his body at every moment, manifesting sometimes as a child, sometimes as a youth, and sometimes as an old man, the spirit soul however remains the same and does not undergo any change. The individual soul eventually changes the body itself, the soul transmigrates from one body to another body and hence death is viewed as the soul changing bodies from old to new one. According to one’s work in the present life, the living entity experiences enjoyment or suffering with the changing of bodies. This view helps the individual not to lament about death.
SHANKARA’S BHAJA GOVINDAM AND NIRVANA SHATAKAM LYRICS:
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
The life of a man is as uncertain as rain drops trembling on a lotus leaf. Know that the whole world remains a prey to disease, ego and grief.
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
The ‘ADVAITA’ school of Indian philosophy was founded by the great teacher Shankara who is popularly referred to as Adi Shankaracharya. He composed lyrics known as Bhaja Govindam (Praise Lord Vishnu, the Protector) in which he describes the transient, ephemeral, and fleeting nature of human life and existence.
He compares human life to that of the bead of water drop on the surface of the Lotus leaf. He reminds us to understand that the body’s existence is very temporary and he observes that the entire humanity is suffering due to sickness caused by ignorance which makes people to crave with a sense of attachment and desire to keep their impermanent existence.
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life.
The very same Adi Shankaracharya in the lyrics known as Nirvana Shatakam describes the individual entity as an embodied Soul. The Soul is eternal but the physical body is temporary and just like the water drop on the surface of the Lotus leaf, the drop could roll away any moment, and the Soul may change bodies sooner than we wish or desire. There is no point in cultivating a sense of attachment to the body as the Soul is not willing to cling to the physical body.
Man is a created being, exists as an Individual with Individuality, and has living substance constituted by Chemical Elements that are immortal, imperishable, or eternal. However, Man, the physical being with a shape and form is transient as he is born with a plan for the dissolution of its form.
Whole Dude – Whole Life: Transient Being vs Eternal Being. The Two Facets of the Human Existence. The Two Facets of the Lotus Flower. Mortal vs Everlasting Life. On Tuesday, the Sixth Day of August 2019, I coined the phrase Whole Dude – Whole Time to answer the question, “What do you do for Your Living?” I live on Whole Food to do the Whole Job during my Whole Life.
In my analysis, I cannot be classified either as White-Collar, or Blue-Collar Worker. I cannot be described as Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal, or Full-Time Employee of any entity that provides the earnings, or wages in exchange for any mental or physical work performed by my human body.To live as Whole Dude is a Whole Time Job.
Whole Dude, Whole Man, Whole Person , or Whole Self works Whole Time during his Whole Life, from the moment of his conception until his death, by performing the Whole Job described as Cellular Respiration even when he watches TV relaxing on his couch or even when he is snoring, fast asleep in his bed.
Whole Dude – Whole Time: Cellular respiration is a set of metabolic reactions and processes that take place in the cells of organisms to convert biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then release waste products.

The answer does not require your nationality, citizenship status, your race, your gender, your educational experience, and not even your occupational history. When you recognize God as the Supreme Controller, the Supreme Sustainer, and the Supreme Maintainer of Life on planet Earth, you will find a perspective different from all other human perspectives.
What do You do for Your Living?
This blog post is dedicated to Goddess Sarasvati, the Goddess of Pure Knowledge and Perfect Wisdom. The question, “What do you do for your Living” must be answered by attaching meaning to terms such as ‘Life’, and ‘Living’ using the information provided by Science. If the human Subject called “I” is existing, it has to be accounted for by the description of work or job performed to maintain or sustain the fact of its existence.
Whole Dude – Whole Time: Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Whole Job for Whole Life.
Goddess Sarasvati symbolizes the pursuit of Knowledge and Wisdom and helps me to define Life as Knowledge in Action.
Whole Job-Whole Life. What are Living Functions?
Whole Dude-Whole Time. Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Whole Job for Whole Life.
Spirituality Science. What do you do for Living?
THE PROCESS, THE MECHANISM CALLED CELLULAR RESPIRATION IS NOT LEARNED OR ACQUIRED EXPERIENCE. NO SPIRITUAL TEACHER, NO SPIRITUAL MASTER, AND NO SPIRITUAL GUIDE CAN IMPLANT THIS KNOWLEDGE IN MAN.
At a fundamental level, the Living System called man is thermodynamically unstable and it means that the System demands a constant supply of energy from an external source. The process or the mechanism called ‘Cellular Respiration’ is involved in energy acquisition, energy manipulation, energy transformation, and energy expenditure involved in the performance of the numerous Living Functions that establish the fact of the Living Thing existing in its given environment at any given place and time.
Whole Dude-Whole Time. Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Job for Whole Life.
THE LIVING CELL IS THERMODYNAMICALLY UNSTABLE. TO EXIST, THE LIVING CELL NEEDS CONTINUOUS SUPPLY OF MATTER AND ENERGY FROM ITS EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT. PROTOPLASM OR CYTOPLASM USES THE POWER OF NUTRITION TO ACQUIRE MATTER AND ENERGY FROM ITS EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT AND ENABLES THE LIVING CELL TO PERFORM A VARIETY OF LIVING FUNCTIONS CALLED METABOLISM.
The Knowledge Theory vs The Living Functions:
Whole Dude-Whole Time. Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Job for Whole Life.
Spirituality Science. What do you do for Living? Many important biological processes involve Redox or Oxidation and Reduction Chemical Reactions. These chemical reactions reveal a dynamic process that is the characteristic of both Life and Death. If Life is explained by a series of chemical reactions, the same process continues into Death.
I ask my readers to carefully examine the role of Knowledge in the performance of human living functions. The man exists in the physical world, not on account of learned experience, or acquired Knowledge which he may use in the performance of actions that relate to his social occupation that provides him with earnings or income with which he caters for his physiological needs like food, water, clothing, and housing.
Man’s physical and mental work is not the ultimate basis of his existence. For example, the man has no direct sensory awareness of the numerous Redox or Oxidation and Reduction Chemical Reactions involved in the dynamic process called Life and Death.
What is Knowledge?
Whole Dude – Whole Time: Life is defined as Knowledge in Action.
Knowledge is defined as the act, fact, or state of knowing a range of information. The act of knowing requires knowledge or information relevant to a particular act. The state of knowledge describes the condition that characterizes an object in which such knowledge or information exists. If knowledge is defined as a fact of knowing some information, it describes a clear perception, or understanding, or awareness, or cognizance of information that pertains to that fact. Knowledge can only exist, can only be found in an object which has the abilities of perception, understanding, awareness, or cognition. In other words, knowledge is an attribute of the act, fact, or state of living. A living object is the seat of knowledge and the presence of knowledge could be verified or detected in any of the actions or activities of that living matter. The act of living requires a state or condition of knowing information relevant to sustaining life’s functions.
Whole Dude-Whole Time. Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Job for Whole Life.
If the human brain or mind is viewed as the Seat of Knowledge, hands, and feet, or the muscles used in vocalization are the sites where Knowledge is transformed into Action. In common usage, the word knowledge is used to describe all that has been perceived or grasped by the human brain or mind. The learning, the body of facts, principles, etc., accumulated by man is stated as his knowledge. The state of knowing becomes evident only when knowledge is transformed into action. The man displays knowledge in the use of his hands and feet in the performance of his actions. Man can communicate his knowledge in his speech, in his writings, and in his use of a variety of tools, instruments, gadgets, and machines. If the human brain or mind is viewed as the seat of knowledge, hands, and feet, or the muscles used in vocalization are the sites where knowledge is transformed into action. Knowledge involves receiving/storing information at one site and using that information in the performance of action at a different site. The ability and the quality of a man’s function reflect upon his state of knowledge relative to that function. Knowledge is verified during its application to perform a function. This concept or understanding of knowledge in action could also be used in the context of describing functions at the cellular level.
Whole Dude-Whole Time. Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Job for Whole Life.
The Da Vinci Telerobotic Surgical System permits the surgeon to perform an operation on a patient from a remote site. The mechanical robotic arm could perform tasks with great precision while it has no knowledge of its own. While information can be found in books, in writings, in speech/ speech recordings, and etc., it should not be described as knowledge. A robotic, mechanical arm could perform tasks with great precision while it has no knowledge of its own. Knowledge, awareness, and ability to use information exist only as an attribute of life or as an act of living.
What is Life? Life is Knowledge in Action:

Anatomy of Plant Cell clearly illustrates that Life exists because of the establishment of Knowledge, the source of Information for a variety of biological functions. Both Bacterial (Prokaryotic), Animal, and Plant (Eukaryotic) Cells share similar characteristics. The Living Cell functions by application of the information contained in its genetic material. Use of information to perform action describes the Knowing and it represents Knowledge in Action. Virus particles composed of Nucleic Acids either RNA or DNA within a case of Protein, in it’s Free State the Virus particle behaves like Inert matter and when it infects living cells of plants, animals, or bacteria the Virus starts replicating using the Chemical Energy and Nucleic Acid synthesizing abilities of the host Cell. The Application of Knowledge in Viral Replication is very interesting. The Structure of the Influenza Virus reveals its Functional Organization. Each function involves the application of Knowledge. This Knowledge is derived from its hereditary information. The Virus exists because of genetic material which provides it the information to perform its function that is characteristic of its existence.
What is Life? Life is Knowledge in Action. A living cell performs a variety of functions that are characteristic of its life. The Cell Structure known as Nucleus is the Seat of Knowledge. In structures known as Chromosomes it stores hereditary, and biological information for its growth, development, replication, reproduction, and metabolic functions such as protein synthesis for its growth and maintenance. Protein Synthesis takes place in structures known as Ribosomes that are located in Cytoplasm outside the Nucleus. Nucleus transfers information to Ribosomes by using Transfer RNA. Nucleus provides only information and to use that information for its function of Protein Synthesis, the Ribosome derives Energy from another Cell Structure known as Mitochondrion. This process of Cellular Function describes Knowledge in Action.Life is described as a state of an organism characterized by certain processes or abilities that include metabolism, nutrition, growth, motion, replication, reproduction, responsiveness to stimuli, and awareness of its own condition of existence or living in an environment.
Whole Dude – Whole Time: In mitochondria, many substances (food) are oxidized and ATP, the energy-storing chemical of the Cell is produced. The most important equations for living things are mutually inverse. Respiration of humans, and Cellular Respiration represents the reverse of Photosynthesis.
The act of living could be stated by describing the functions that characterize life. Functions depend upon the use of information; the information that is stored at a particular site or location is transferred to a different site or location where it is transformed into action which constitutes the nature of functioning. Life is always associated with its living functions and these functions depend upon the use of energy. If the Nucleus is viewed as the Seat of Knowledge of a Living Cell, it communicates its Knowledge to another Cell Structure known as Ribosome which is the Site of Action for the Knowledge transferred from the Nucleus. The Ribosome performs its action of Protein Synthesis drawing Energy provided by another Cell Structure known as Mitochondrion.
So also the human brain provides information and sends signals to muscles to perform actions. Muscle cells perform actions drawing Energy from Mitochondria of their Cells. This process called Living depends upon the use of Energy. If Life is a manifestation of an Energy or Life Force, Life could be defined as Knowing the Connection between ‘energy-Seeker’ (or energy-demanding molecules) and an ‘Energy-Provider’ or Source of Energy (or energy-yielding molecules).
Life and its functions are evidence of its State of Knowledge. Hence, Life could be defined as “Knowledge in Action.” Life comes into existence or into a state called Living, and Life begins with the establishment of Knowledge in an object or matter that gains the identity of a Living Organism.
Whole Dude-Whole Time. What do you do for your living? Living as the Whole Dude is a Whole Time Whole Job for Whole Life.
I SAY I GRIND, YOU GRIND, LIFE IS NOTHING BUT A DAILY GRIND.
Whole Dude – Whole Time – Whole Life – Whole Grind: Genesis 3:19.
The Vitruvian Man c. 1492. The painting by Leonardo da Vinci displays the spirit of scientific inquiry. We must investigate the biological basis of Human Existence to know about Human Nature. The Nature is a reflection of the potency that keeps the human Object existing
What is man? The motivation for asking this question comes from a statement expressed in the Sanskrit language, “Sarvesham Swastir Bhavatu,” which seeks the well-being of all humans, of all races, of all religions, of all cultures, and of all nations.
Human nature could be discovered by understanding the biological basis for human existence. Human nature is a reflection of that potency that keeps the human object existing. To describe human nature from mental life or mental states of an individual causes Subject-Object Dualism.
I must know human nature by knowing the characteristics of the substance that exists. The substance when it performs its functions, the characteristics of its behavior could be observed in biotic interactions, the interactions of the cells, the tissues, the organs and the organ systems that constitute the human organism. I discover human nature of a subject who objectively exists because of the functions of the cells, the tissues, organs and organ systems that provide the basis for that existence.
I coined the phrase Whole Existence to examine the complexity of Time and Life interactions. Life is always derived from previously existing Life and Life by its very nature has the ability to reproduce and perpetuate its existence displaying its inherent capacity for a future existence or future Life. The Mortal Being called Man has to be studied giving attention to the Cyclical Flow of Time which can make it possible for Man to have a Past Life, a Present Life, and a Future Life. Whole Existence includes the former state of existence or Past Birth, and a future state of existence or Rebirth apart from the Present Birth.
Existentialism – The Philosophy of Human Existence:
Jean Paul Sartre ( 1905 – 1980 ), French novelist, playwright, and exponent of Existentialism.
The philosophical focus of Existentialism is concerned with the uniqueness of the individual human being, the meaning or purpose of human life as a subjective experience, and with the freedom of human individual. Sartre believes in the ability of every person to choose for himself his attitudes, purposes, values, and a way of life. Sartre’s thesis is that humans are essentially free, free to choose (though not free not to choose)and free to negate the given features of the world. Sartre thinks that there are no transcendent or objective values set for human beings and that there is no ultimate meaning or purpose inherent in human life. Sartre insists that the only foundation for values is human freedom and that there can be no external or objective justification for the values anyone chooses to adopt.
Human Consciousness and Human Existence:
Sartre divides the being, the existing realities into two categories;1. one category is called being – in – itself (L’etre – en – soi) which comprises inanimate things such as rocks, and 2. the second category is being – for – itself (L’etre – pour – soi) which comprises beings that have feelings such as human beings. Sartre effectively excludes a vast majority of living organisms from the category that he calls being – for – itself. Sartre understands consciousness as an ability to know or be aware of feelings. His view is only partly correct. The true function of consciousness is awareness of the state, the condition, and the fact of living. Hence, this Amoeba proteus is a conscious entity while it is living in its given environment.
Sartre makes a radical distinction between consciousness (L’etre – pour – soi, being – for – itself) and non-conscious objects (L’etre – en – soi, being – in – itself). Though it is correct that human beings have emotional feelings, thoughts, and moods, the nature of consciousness is the same in all living entities. The presence or absence of feelings is of no consideration to make the fundamental distinction between inanimate and animate beings. His focus is on the opposition between objective things and human consciousness. Sartre’s concept of human freedom is a simple mental entity and it involves the freedom of imagination. However, man has a very limited freedom to convert his imagination into actuality. Man lacks total freedom and has no true freedom as he does not directly rule or govern even a single cell in his body which comprises of trillions of individual, living cells which have functional autonomy and are independent entities while being part of a group.
Human Consciousness and Human Freedom:
Human Consciousness and Human Freedom – Sartre contends that we can never be just objects to be observed and accurately described.
The living cell is aware or conscious of the fact of its own existence; it is conscious of itself and its internal condition, and it is conscious of its external environment and objects found in its external environment.
Whole Dude – Whole Existence: The integration of Structure and Function describes the Spiritual Basis for Health and Human Existence. By knowing the structure and function of the Red Blood Cell or Erythrocyte, we can establish the facts of Blood Circulation, the reason for the structure of the Heart and Lungs, their motions and their relation to each other and their relation to the Human Being who exists as an Individual with Individuality.
A complex human living system exists because of harmonious interactions, partnership, relationship, and association between the cells, the tissues, the organs and the organ systems that constitute the human individual. These biotic interactions display behavioral characteristics such as mutual assistance, mutual cooperation, mutual tolerance, mutual subservience, mutual functional subordination to provide benefits to each other to support the survival and reproductive success of each other. There is sympathy, compassion, and understanding for the needs of each other among the participants of a biotic or biological community or association of living cells that comprise the human person. I observe the human organism and I can accurately describe that Spiritualism is the chief attribute of human existence and human nature. Man has no freedom and man has no choice other than that of existing as a Spiritual Being.
It is ironic that man has no cortical or mental awareness of the spiritual nature of his own body and the substance that lives because of its nature. By seeking awareness of the underlying spiritual nature, man will be able to live in harmony and peace within himself and with others in his environment.
To know man’s essence, to describe human nature, we need a man who is existing. If there is no living, physical being called man, it would serve us no purpose to know its nature or essence. In Spiritualism, man’s essence and existence come together to establish the purpose of man in Life.
The Art of Receiving and the Art of Giving:
Ecology is the Science that deals with the relations between living organisms and their environment. Humans as individuals and as social or national groups have to make adjustments to their geographical, social, and biotic environments to live in peace and harmony. The Art of Receiving and The Art of Giving is inescapable and is inevitable consequence of human living and human life.
Sir Winston Churchill said, “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.” To add clarity to this quote, I say that human existence depends upon receiving energy from an external source.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME – HUMAN NATURE – HUMAN BEHAVIOR:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME – HUMAN NATURE AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR: IN INDIAN TRADITION THE CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME IS DESCRIBED AS FOUR PERIODS NAMED 1. SATYA YUGA, 2. TRETA YUGA, 3. DWAPARA YUGA, AND 4. KALI YUGA. MAN MAY DISPLAY DIFFERENT BEHAVIORS DURING EACH PERIOD OF TIME.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME – HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND HUMAN NATURE: IN INDIAN TRADITION, MAN DISPLAYS DIFFERENT KINDS OF BEHAVIOR DUE TO EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENTAL STIMULI THAT VARY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TIME. INDIA’S SPIRITUAL LEADER AND MASTER GURU NANAK(c.1469 – c.1539) RESISTED THE POLLUTING EFFECTS OF KALI YUGA AND PREACHED ABOUT FUNDAMENTAL IDENTITY OF ALL RELIGIONS.
In Indian tradition, time flows in a cyclical manner and time is divided into four periods called “YUG” and the Four YUGAS are named as 1. Satya Yuga or Krita Yuga, 2. Treta Yuga, 3. Dwapara Yuga, and 4. Kali Yuga. The present times of man belong to the period Kali Yuga and hence is of a great interest. Saint Ved Vyasa, the author of Hindu epic poems of Mahabharata and Bhgavata Purana made some predictions about human behavior under the influence of the time period of Kali Yuga. The word ‘Kali’ refers to contamination, or pollution and an important consequence of the polluting effect of Kali Yuga is thought to be “STRESS.” Man’s behavior is influenced by the stressful environmental stimuli and these stimuli are aroused by man’s perception of time. Since man cannot avoid interacting with the environment in which he exists, man is instructed to take the help of chanting the Divine Name of KRISHNA and RAMA as a ‘MANTRA’ to overcome the polluting effects of Kali Yuga.
KALI KALMASHA NASANA MAHA MANTRAM – HARE KRISHNA MAHA MANTRAM:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME – HUMAN NATURE AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR:HARE KRISHNA MAHA MANTRA IS DESCRIBED AS THE CURE FOR THE POLLUTING EFFECTS OF THE TIME PERIOD CALLED KALI YUGA.
“Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna Hare Hare,
Lord Rama’s name may not appear in the Vedas but it appears in Kali Santarana Upanishad, Krishna Yajur Veda, 103 Upanishad. “These sixteen words are destructive of the evil effects of Kali. No better means than this is to be seen in all the Vedas.” During 16th century A.D. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu spread this Mantra among people with a great zeal. Basically, mantras are about the efficacy of Sound Energy. Shri. Ashok Coomar has kindly shared the 15 amazing predictions for the Kali Yuga made by Saint-Poet Ved Vyas in the Bhagavata Purana. While this prophesy pertains to human behavior, human nature remains essentially unchanged as human nature is operated by an unchanging, eternal, and immortal, vital principle called Soul or Spirit. While man’s identity constantly undergoes changes under the influence of time, the unchanging principle called Soul or Spirit maintains man’s individuality. Man is constituted as a Spiritual Being with a Divine attribute called Spiritual Nature that describes the true or real man. Whereas human behavior is variable and the variability is generated by the external environmental stimuli. I am asking my readers to give their attention to the distinction between Human Nature and Human behavior.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME – HUMAN NATURE AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR: SAINT-POET VEDA VYASA MADE PREDICTIONS ABOUT SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN HUMAN ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOR DURING THE TIME PERIOD CALLED KALI YUGA. HE RECOMMENDED THE USE OF THE DIVINE NAME KRISHNA AS A REMEDY TO TREAT THE SICKNESS CAUSED BY THE POLLUTING EFFECTS OF KALI YUGA.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – CYCLICAL FLOW OF TIME – HUMAN NATURE AND BEHAVIOR: IN THE EPIC POEM OF SRIMAD BHAGAVATA PURANA, SAINT-POET VEDA VYASA MADE PROPHETIC PREDICTIONS ABOUT CHANGING HUMAN ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF CHANGING TIMES. INDIAN SAINT LORD CHAITANYA MAHA PRABHU DURING THE 16TH CENTURY PROPAGATED THE HARE KRISHNA MAHA MANTRA WITH A GREAT ZEAL. THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ORGANIZATION THAT IS COMBATING THE EVIL EFFECTS OF KALI YUGA.

“Although Kali-yuga is an ocean of faults, there is still one good quality about this age: simply by chanting the names of Krishna, one can become free from material bondage and be promoted to the transcendental kingdom.” (Source: Srimad Bhagavatam 12.3.51)
So let us take advantage of this special spiritual gift given during the dark times of Kali yuga to quickly raise ourselves spiritually through chanting of God’s holy names.—
Can anyone then ignore the 15th prediction in which lies the only hope?

WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: WE NEED TO REVOLUTIONIZE THE INTERPRETATION OF SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE WORLD IN WHICH MAN FINDS HIS EXISTENCE. TO BEGIN, HAVE A COOKIE AND MILK BEFORE I TAKE YOU TO THE MILKY WAY. WHOLE TEAM MEMBERS WHO LIKE THIS BLOG POST AND LEAVE A COMMENT WILL RECEIVE THIS BOX AS A WHOLE REWARD.
We need to bring a new, ‘Whole Revolution’ in the reasoning process that we use to interpret the scientific information about the world and the universe in which man finds his existence. To begin, please have a Cookie and some milk before I launch you on a trip to the Milky Way, the Galaxy, our home in this vast universe of unknown dimensions.
THE MILKY WAY GALAXY – A TOUGH COOKIE TO CRUNCH:
WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE MILKY WAY GALAXY SYSTEM IS ONE OF BILLIONS OF GALAXIES THAT MAKE THE UNIVERSE. IT CONTAINS MORE THAN 100 BILLION STARS. THE SUN HAS A CIRCULAR ORBIT WHILE IT TAKES 200 MILLION YEARS TO REVOLVE ONCE AROUND THE GALAXY.
The Milky Way System is one of billions of Galaxies that make up the universe. It contains more than 100 billion stars.
WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE MILKY WAY SYSTEM IS A LARGE SPIRAL GALAXY, HAS A NUCLEUS SURROUNDED BY A LARGE CENTRAL BULGE WITH SPIRAL ARMS COILED AROUND IT.WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE ENTIRE MILKY WAY SYSTEM ROTATES AROUND THE GALACTIC CENTER. BUT, THE VARIOUS CONSTITUENT OBJECTS DO NOT ROTATE AT THE SAME VELOCITY. THE SUN MOVES AT A RELATIVELY LOW-SPEED.
The Sun is located near the inner edge of one of these spiral arms – the ‘Orion Arm’ – about two-thirds of the way from the center of the Galaxy. The galactic nucleus is at a distance of about 27, 000 to 30, 000 light years from the Sun. The entire Milky Way System rotates around the galactic center, but the various constituent objects do not rotate at the same velocity. Stars distant from the center travel at lower speeds than those closer to it. The Sun which is located relatively far from the nucleus, moves at an estimated speed of about 140 miles per second(225 kilometres/second) in a nearly circular orbit. Because of its relatively low velocity, the Sun’s period of revolution about the galactic center is approximately 230 million years.
WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE UNIVERSAL SYSTEM, AND THE UNIVERSAL ORDER MUST BE INTERPRETED IN THE CONTEXT OF MAN’S WORLD OF EXPERIENCE. IN MY VIEW, THE WORLD OF EXPERIENCE IS DETERMINED BY A PURPOSE; THE PURPOSE THAT ESTABLISHES THE PHYSICAL REALITY OF HUMAN EXISTENCE IN THE UNIVERSE THAT IS CONSTANTLY ON THE MOVE AT AN AMAZING SPEED.WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE SUN APPEARS EXTREMELY BRIGHT TO THE TERRESTRIAL OBSERVER ONLY BECAUSE IT IS THE STAR NEAREST THE EARTH. MY WORLD EXPERIENCE IS ENTIRELY SHAPED BY THIS BEAUTIFUL IMAGE SHOWING SUNRISE WHICH BEGINS A NEW DAY OF MY LIFE’S JOURNEY.
The Universal System, and the Universal Order has to be interpreted in the context of man’s world of experience. In my view, the world of experience is determined by a “PURPOSE”, the “PURPOSE” that establishes the physical reality of man’s existence in a universe that is on a constant move at varying degrees of amazing speeds. My world of experience is entirely shaped by tha above photo image of a beautiful Sunrise, the event that marks the beginning of a new day of my life’s journey.
WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE SUN CONVERTS 4, 000, 000 TONS OF MATTER INTO ENERGY EVERY SECOND. BUT, IT IS THE TRANSFORMATION OF THAT ENERGY WHICH ESTABLISHES THE FACT OF LIFE ON EARTH. THE CONVERSION OF ENERGY FROM LIGHT INTO CHEMICAL ENERGY SPEAKS OF A PURPOSE, THE PURPOSE IS THAT OF SUSTAINING ENERGY-DEPENDENT LIFE FORMS. THE SWEETNESS OF THE WHOLE COOKIE IS DERIVED FROM THE SUGARS MADE BY PHOTOSYNTHESIS.
The Sun converts 4, 000, 000 tons of matter into energy every second. But, it must be noted that it is the transformation of that energy which establishes the fact of life on Earth. The energy generated by Sun is first released as ‘Gamma Rays’, and this form of electromagnetic radiation is very harmful to life. The Gamma radiation released during energy production undergoes a considerable number of interactions with overlying material on its way to the Sun’s outer layer called Photosphere. It must be realized that it takes several hundreds of thousands of years for the degraded Gamma radiation to emerge mainly as visible light and infrared radiation. Photochemical reactions are chemical processes initiated by the absorption of energy in the form of visible, infrared or UV radiation. Photochemical processes are sometimes extremely efficient for the conversion of energy from light into chemical energy. For living systems, the single most important photochemical process is known as ‘Photosyntheis’. Chlorophyll refers to the green pigment found in plant cells and it is the most important of all biomolecules. Chlorophyll absorbs light energy most strongly in the blue portion of the electromagnetic spectrum followed by the red portion. This creative transformation of solar radiation into a new form of chemical energy can be simply recognized by tasting the products that it creates. The sweetness of the ‘Whole Cookie’ speaks of ‘The Magic of Creation’.
WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE APPARENT PATH TAKEN BY THE SUN IN THE CELESTIAL SPHERE IS MOST RELEVANT WORLD EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPES HUMAN EXISTENCE ON THE EARTH.
The term ‘Ecliptic’ refers to the great circle on the celestial sphere that lies in the plane of the Earth’s orbit. Because of the Earth’s yearly revolution around the Sun, the Sun appears to move in an annual journey along the ‘Ecliptic’.
WHOLE COOKIE – WHOLE REVOLUTION – WHOLE ECLIPTIC: THE ECLIPTIC DESCRIBES THE GREAT CIRCLE ON THE CELESTIAL SPHERE INTERSECTING THE CELESTIAL EQUATOR AND IT REPRESENTS THE CHANGING POSITION OF THE SUN WITH RESPECT TO THE BACKGROUND STARS AS SEEN FROM THE ORBITING EARTH DURING ONE YEAR IT HELPS MAN TO DETERMINE THE ONSET OF CHANGING SEASONS MARKED BY EVENTS LIKE VERNAL AND AUTUMNAL EQUINOX.
Immanuel Kant(1724-1804), German philosopher altered the nature of philosophic inquiry and he called his radical redefinition of philosophical problems and procedures a “COPERNICAN REVOLUTION.” As Copernicus reversed the way subsequent philosophers thought about the relationship of the Earth and the Sun, so Kant reversed the way subsequent philosophers thought about the relationship of the world of experience and the mind. The mind is not shaped by the world of experience, rather, the world of experience is shaped by the pattern set by the mind. In my opinion, “WHOLE DEVOTION” is a valid method of scientific inquiry and it will establish the correct mental pattern to understand the world of experience. I am asking for a “Whole Revolution” in our interpretation of the basic information Science provides to know Man’s Status in Nature. The reality of the Sun’s motions in the Milky Way Galaxy System are of no relevance to establish the reality called human existence. The Subjective, and the Objective Reality of Man is established by the apparent motions of the Sun across the sky, the imaginary plane that I call the “WHOLE ECLIPTIC.”
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – AGING AND LONGEVITY: BLAISE PASCAL(1623-62), FRENCH SCIENTIST, MATHEMATICIAN, AND RELIGIOUS PHILOSOPHER FOUNDED THE MODERN THEORY OF PROBABILITY AND IN PHYSICS, DISCOVERED PASCAL’S LAW BY CONDUCTING EXPERIMENTS IN THE EQUILIBRIUM OF FLUIDS THAT LED TO INVENTIONS OF HYDRAULIC PRESS, HYDRAULIC JACK, AND HYDRAULIC ELEVATOR. HIS MENTAL CONCEPTS ARE LIVING GIVING A DIMENSION TO THE CONCEPT OF LONGEVITY.
I would like to pay my tribute to Blaise Pascal who shared his views about man and human nature; “Man is a nothing in comparison with the Infinite, an All in comparison with the Nothing, a mean between Nothing and Everything. Since he is infinitely removed from comprehending the extremes, the end of things and their beginning are helplessly hidden from him in an impenetrable secret; he is equally incapable of seeing the Nothing from which he was made, and the Infinite in which he swallowed up.” Since man exists as a Mortal Being, man has a natural tendency to investigate the Beginning of Life and the End of Life and seek a better understanding of the natural processes liking Aging that propels man to travel and reach the destination termed ‘Death’ without any choice. Aging is a widespread biological phenomenon and all living things display a natural tendency towards a decline of biological functions and a time-related disability to adapt to metabolic stress. At the same time, I ask my readers to note that the ‘Protoplasm’, the living substance that makes up both the cytoplasm and nucleoplasm appears to be potentially immortal. The term ‘Longevity’, the length or duration of a life or lives, must be interpreted in the context of the potential ability of Protoplasm to survive while individual members of species take birth, live, and die after a period of time. The term Life-Span describes the longest period of time that a typical individual can be expected to live. Similarly, Lifetime is the period of time that someone lives, or that something lasts, functions, or is in effect. Human beings have the unique ability to use their Lifetime to create a legacy that can endure giving an aura of immortality to that specific human individual who may have finished his or her mortal existence.
THE PHENOMENON OF LONGEVITY:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – AGING AND LONGEVITY: THIS IMAGE OF DIVIDING YEAST CELLS DESCRIBES A REAL POTENTIAL IMMORTALITY IN SIMPLE ORGANISMS THAT ARE SINGLE-CELLED AND REPRODUCE BY ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION CALLED FISSION.
The concept of Life-Span implies that there is an individual whose existence has a definite beginning and end. Within the Phylum Protozoa, organisms that consist of a single cell, are numerous species that reproduce by fission which is a form of asexual reproduction in which the parent organism divides into two or more approximately equal parts, each becoming an independent individual. In such organisms where it is not easy to establish the beginning and end of an individual organism, the growth seems to continue indefinitely and a potential immortality can be observed. In organisms that use sexual reproduction, the limits of the life-span of each species appear to be determined by ‘Heredity’ which refers to the transmission of characteristics from parent to offspring by means of genes in the chromosomes. Each individual member of any given species has a life-span during which something of that individual lasts when transmitted to offspring as heritable information. The term heredity and the Laws of Inheritance and the Science called Genetics will have validity if, and only if some biological characteristics survive in spite of the death of any individual member of a species. It is very interesting to observe that there are several species of living things which have continuously lived for exceptionally long periods of time retaining their species-specific identity. Such organisms can be claimed to be immortal as they appear to be fully capable of surviving indefinitely. This faculty has been attributed to some insects, some simpler forms of invertebrate marine life (such as Tube Worms, Jellyfish, Clams, and Lobsters), certain fishes and reptiles which appear to be capable of unlimited growth. As the complexity of an organism increases, the internal changes associated with the aging process contribute to senescence and death of the organism. Even under the most favorable external conditions, there is a predetermined age beyond which a given individual of a species may not be able to survive. The Maximum Life-Span is often an estimate based on the longest lived organism of its species that is known to date. The Average Life-Span is a statistical concept that is derived by the analysis of mortality data for populations of each species. The Average Life-Span is related to Life Expectancy, the statistically probable length of time that a typical individual of any given species can be expected to live. Life Expectancy varies as it depends on the changing death rate over a period of time. Even species that have very slow-growing rates can experience higher than natural death rates due to external factors and may even face the threat of total extinction.

The issue of Life-Span of plants and trees and of Human Life-Span need special consideration. In all animals, where the organism is formed by sexual reproduction, the beginning of life is defined by the formation of the fertilized egg cell or zygote. Very often, physical birth is considered to be the beginning of the Life-Span. The end or death of an organism is reflected in its inability to support its structural and functional organization that gives it a distinctive physical identity. This generation of Life by the union of an egg and sperm is a most remarkable event. In the entire Animal and Plant Kingdom where the organisms achieve reproduction sexually, the Generative Mechanism remains the same and is unchanged over millions of years. This Generative Potential of Sexual Reproduction is unaltered and it describes a most creative process that is involved in the beginning of all living creatures. In my view, the immutability of Life’s beginning is dependent upon the Unchanging Principle called Soul or Spirit.
