IN GOD WE TRUST – WHOLE CHRIST – WHOLE LOVE

WHOLE CHRIST – WHOLE LOVE:

WHOLECHRIST - WHOLELOVE: The term "WholeChrist" refers to Jesus before His human birth, after His Resurrection, and to the Hope of His Second Coming. The term "WholeLove" describes God's Unconditioned Love that is not determined by human knowledge and rationality. The Birth of Jesus cannot be accounted by human knowledge and rationality.
WHOLECHRIST – WHOLELOVE: The term “WholeChrist” refers to Jesus before His human birth, during His earthly existence, after His Resurrection, and to the Hope of His Second Coming to establish the ‘Kingdom of Heaven on Earth’.The term “WholeLove” describes God’s Unconditioned Love that is not determined by human knowledge and rationality. The Birth of Jesus cannot be fully accounted by human knowledge and rationality for man lacks the ability to account for his own existence.

The word Christ(Greek. Christos) refers to the Messiah whose appearance is prophesied in the Old Testament and is used as a title to describe Jesus of Nazareth. I am using the term “WholeChrist” to describe Jesus before His human birth, Jesus during the years spent on this Earth, Jesus after His Resurrection, and Jesus who gives the Hope of the Second Coming to establish ‘The Kingdom of Heaven on Earth’. The word Christ may not communicate the entirety of Jesus and in the four Gospels we do not obtain the full picture as the event called ‘The Second Coming’ has not yet taken place. The word “Love”(Hebrew. ‘ahavah’, Greek. ‘agape’) is presented in Scripture as the very nature or essence of God, the supreme attribute in which all other attributes are harmonized. Love is a bond that unites all virtues. I consider the Power/Force/Energy of Mercy, Grace, and Compassion as the operating mechanism of God’s Love and could be simply called Divine Providence. I am using the term “WholeLove” to describe God’s Unconditioned Love that is not determined or fully accounted by human knowledge and human rationality. In other words, I have no ability to empower myself to receive God’s Unconditioned Love. I cannot manipulate God’s WholeLove through my actions, behavior, or even prayers. I can experience WholeLove but, I cannot explain or fully account for the existence of that Love.

WHOLECHRIST – WHOLELOVE – WHOLECREATION:THE BIRTH OF JESUS:

WholeChrist - WholeLove: The Birth of Jesus as a Spiritual Being cannot be fully accounted by using human knowledge and human rationality. Man must try to know and understand as to where he exists and as to how he exists.
WholeChrist – WholeLove – WholeCreation: The Birth of Jesus as a Spiritual Being cannot be fully accounted by using human knowledge and human rationality. Man must try to know and understand as to where he exists and as to how he exists. God uses the dimension called WholeLove to bring Unity and Harmony between the dimensions of Matter, Energy, Time, and Space to create man and the World in which man exists.

Man cannot explain the Birth of Jesus using his scientific knowledge. The Birth of Jesus can only be understood as a fact of Creation, a creative event. It should not come as a surprise as each human being who took birth on Earth has always arrived as an original, unique, distinctive, and one of its own kind of object with a genome that never existed in the past, and would also never exist again in the future. Each man is born as a created being and the birth of Jesus as a singular event reveals a creative mechanism not known to man and not subject to the limitations of man’s rational power. God uses the dimension called WholeLove to bring Unity and Harmony between the dimensions of Matter, Energy, Time, and Space to create man and the World in which man exists.

WHOLECHRIST – WHOLELOVE – WHOLEEXISTENCE:

WholeChrist - WholeLove -WholeExistence: The Birth of Jesus and His earthly existence describes the operation of a Supreme, Spiritual WholeLaw that harmonizes all Laws of Nature that operate in the physical world to establish WholeExistence which may be stated as a Law of Conservation:" Matter is neither created nor destroyed."
WholeChrist – WholeLove -WholeExistence: The Birth of Jesus and His earthly existence describes the operation of a Supreme, Spiritual WholeLaw that harmonizes all Laws of Nature that operate in the physical world to establish WholeExistence which may be stated as a Law of Conservation:” Matter is neither created nor destroyed.” Similarly, it can be stated: “Life is neither created nor destroyed.”
WholeChrist - WholeLove: God Exists. Very often people raise the question about God's place of existence in this vast universe of unknown dimensions. Where does man exist? How could be man be certain about the location of his own existence in this universe which is constantly moving every instant?
WholeChrist – WholeLove – WholeExistence: God Exists. Very often people raise the question about God’s place of existence in this vast universe of unknown dimensions. Where does man exist? How could man be certain about the location of his own existence in this universe which is constantly moving every instant?
WholeChrist - WholeLove: Where does man exist? It is easy to describe man's place of existence in the Solar System, and Milky Way, but in reality man exists in Space without any awareness of his position that changing every instant. No object that is known in this universe continues to exist at the same position at two different instants.
WholeChrist – WholeLove – WholeExistence: Where does man exist? It is easy to describe man’s place of existence in the Solar System, and Milky Way Galaxy, but in reality man exists in Space without any awareness of his position that is changing every instant. No object that is known in this universe continues to exist at the same position at two different instants. Man exists in a restless universe under the Blissful influence called WholeLove which shields man from the harsh realities of physical universe.

To experience the Joy of Christmas, to seek the uplifting power of Jesus Christ, man must know the truth and reality about human existence. Human knowledge and rationality in themselves do nothing to justify human existence or the existence of this universe. To establish the fact of this human existence on one known planet called Earth is beyond the abilities of human cognitive powers. The biological basis of human existence demands the support of Love whose operating principles are Mercy, Grace, and Compassion. This Love is not conditioned by human behavior and human actions and not even prayers. Man cannot empower himself to acquire God’s Love using his free will. The good and evil actions of man, the right and bad conduct of man will be possible if and only if man’s existence precedes his actions and behavior. It is often argued that the evil and suffering in the world seems to count against the existence of God. I have to account for my physical existence before I can share the experience of pain, misery, disappointment, frustration, and suffering of my life’s condition. The fact or the reality of human pain and suffering cannot exclude the fact of God’s existence. Man at any given age and any given stage of his existence, from conception, physical birth, infancy, youth, adult, old age and death, in ill-health or good health depends upon an Unchanging Spiritual Principle to bring Unity and Harmony to maintain that condition or state called existence. This concept of God’s Unconditioned Love or WholeLove for man is shared by the Birth of Jesus. When I think of this WholeLove, I feel better, my mood gets uplifted, the burden of my painful existence is eased, and I can sense the Joy of the Season.

WHOLECHRIST – WHOLELOVE – WHOLELAW:

WholeChrist - WholeLove - WholeLaw: Love is defined by stating its attributes. Love is Patient. Love is Kind. Love does not envy. Love does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude. Love is not self-seeking. Love is not easily angered. Love protects, trusts, hopes, always perseveres and Love never fails. Divine Mother Mary is seen expressing such Love for her baby Jesus.

Love is not self-seeking. Love is not easily angered. Love protects, trusts, hopes, always perseveres and Love never fails. Divine Mother Mary is seen expressing such Love for her baby Jesus.

Apostle Paul in his First Epistle to Corinthians, in the New Testament Book of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses #4 to 8 describes the attributes of Love: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”  Jesus Christ while teaching the operating principle called Love, names Love as a Law, a Law above all other laws of nature, and above all other Commandments. In the Gospel According to Saint Matthew, Chapter 22, verses #37 to 40 “WholeLove” is explained as “Whole Law”: Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Love is the supreme attribute, nature, and essence of God and at the same time it operates as a Law above all other Laws of Nature and the commandments shared by Prophets. WholeLove can be stated as the WholeLaw that governs the existence of man and gives man the chance to experience Peace, Harmony, and Tranquility in his living condition.

WHOLECHRIST – WHOLELOVE – WHOLEREALITY:

WholeChrist - WholeLove - WholeReality: The Birth of Jesus Christ. Life is neither created nor destroyed. The term WholeChrist describes Jesus as an eternal, immortal, unborn Spiritual Principle that existed before His birth, that existed in the Middle or during His earthly Life, and continues to exist in Future without being influenced by Time.

The term WholeChrist describes Jesus as an eternal, immortal, unborn Spiritual Principle that existed before His birth, that existed in the Middle or during His earthly Life, and continues to exist in Future without being influenced by Time.

Apostle Paul in his First Epistle to Corinthians, in the New Testament Book of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13, verse#13 states the Principle of Conservation: “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”  Man exists in a world that is restless and is constantly changing. The Individual, created human being is born, grows and develops, exists with a physical identity that constantly changes under the powerful influence of Time and the event called death records the loss of that identity that is never constant at any time of its earthly existence. In the natural world, such changes in appearance are governed by the Laws of Conservation such as the Laws of Conservation of Mass, Energy, and Momentum. During man’s physical existence, the physical form and appearance change and yet the Spiritual Principles of Faith, Hope, and Love are conserved. Man cannot depend upon his knowledge and rationality as they are always subject to change. To know the Subjective and Objective Reality or the “WholeReality” of his ‘WholeExistence’, man needs to know the Law of Conservation of Faith, Hope, and Love.

WHOLECHRIST – WHOLELOVE – WHOLEPRAYER:

WholeChrist - WholeLove - WholePrayer: The Gospel According to Saint Matthew, Chapter 6 gives the account of "WholePrayer" that is popularly known as 'Lord's Prayer'. Father knows what you need before you ask Him. We pray for His "WILL" be done on earth as it is in Heaven. The 'WholePrayer' gives virtues such as Patience, Perseverance, Tolerance, and Kindness the attributes of 'WholeLove'.
WholeChrist – WholeLove – WholePrayer: The Gospel According to Saint Matthew, Chapter 6 gives the account of “WholePrayer” that is popularly known as ‘Lord’s Prayer’. Father knows what you need before you ask Him. We pray for His “WILL” be done on earth as it is in Heaven. The ‘WholePrayer’ gives virtues such as Patience, Perseverance, Tolerance, and Kindness the attributes of ‘WholeLove’.

The word Prayer refers to man’s communication with God. It is a spiritual or devotional communication to make a humble, sincere request. Prayer is the act of supplication and it includes words of praise, words of thanksgiving, words of confession, and words of plea seeking sanction of a favor to transform a mental desire into a physical reality in the external world. If God is omniscient, He must know of the evil; and if God is omnipotent, He must be able to remove the evil; and if God is perfectly benevolent and is loving, there should be no pain and suffering. To experience pain and misery, to experience suffering, disappointment and frustration, I have to maintain the condition called existence. At a fundamental level, I have to understand my ability to know things, my power to rule or govern things, and I must know my ability to make choices to change things in my external environment. Jesus in the New Testament Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, verse# 8 instructs: “Do not be like them(pagans), for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”  In Lord’s Prayer, Jesus makes it abundantly clear that the purpose of the ‘WholePrayer’ is that of asking, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Using my human knowledge and rationality, I can neither account for my existence nor account for my experience of pain and suffering which describes the nature of my existence. I describe ‘WholePrayer’ as an act of Faith, and Hope in recognition of the fact or reality called WholeLove that imparts its qualities and virtues such as Patience, Perseverance, Tolerance, and Kindness. Even if I cannot change the circumstances of my life that cause or give the experience of pain, suffering, and misery, the acceptance of WholeLove makes me pain-tolerant, and pain-resistant. It gives me the strength called ‘Endurance’ to overcome the challenge called the ‘Stress of Life’.

WholeChrist - WholeLove - Nietzsche: "That which is done out of Love always takes place beyond Good and Evil." Man with his Good or Evil actions and behavior cannot control the flow of God's Unconditioned or 'WholeLove'.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Whole Dude – Whole Nihilism

Whole Dude – Whole Designer – Whole Nihilism:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Nihilism: German philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche(1844 to 1900) often thought of his writings as struggles with "Nihilism." In his view, Knowledge and Rationality in themselves do nothing to justify Human Existence and do nothing to justify the existence of the World.
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Nihilism: German philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (1844 to 1900) often thought of his writings as struggles with “Nihilism.” In his view, Knowledge and Rationality in themselves do nothing to justify Human Existence and do nothing to justify the existence of the World. I appreciate this thought shared by Nietzsche and would like to keep my independence by contesting his views on Human Existence.

Nietzsche often thought of his writings as struggles with Nihilism. In his view, Knowledge and Rationality in themselves do nothing to justify Human Existence and do nothing to justify the existence of the World. I agree and at the same time, I disagree with him. I would like to share my concept of “Whole Nihilism” to contest his views on Nihilism. In my opinion, Nietzsche fails to make the following distinctions and hence fails to establish his thesis of Nihilism. The fundamental distinctions that we need to consider are:

1. The distinction between Acquired Knowledge and Innate Knowledge,

2. The distinction between Human Essence and Human Existence,

3. The distinction between Human Behavior and Human Nature,

4. The distinction between Human Identity and Human Individuality, and

5. The distinction between a Mortal Being and a Created Being.

Firstly, I would like to describe Nietzsche’s thoughts on Nihilism and explain his views on this subject.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Nihilism: In the emergence of 19th-century "POSITIVISM", Nietzsche predicted the ushering of a new era that dissolves the religious and philosophical absolutes. Nietzsche visualized the collapse of the metaphysical and theological foundations and sanctions for traditional morality. The decadence of the sustaining values of Western Civilization would leave behind a pervasive sense of purposelessness and meaninglessness. And the triumph of meaninglessness is the triumph of Nihilism.

“POSITIVISM” is a system of philosophy basing Knowledge solely on the data of sense experience. It is a system of philosophy originated by French philosopher Auguste Comte (1798-1857) who demanded that Knowledge must be exclusively based on observable scientific facts and their relation to each other, and he rejected speculations about or search for ultimate origins. Positivism as a theory of Knowledge is fundamentally flawed for it fails to acknowledge the existence of Innate Knowledge. For example, the genetic information and biological information implanted in the living cells is the Knowledge that is used to perform a variety of complex, sequential, goal-oriented living functions. In the absence of this Innate Knowledge, life and existence is simply impossible. For this reason, I define Life as Knowledge in Action. Having said this, I recognize that in the 19th-century Positivism, Nietzsche visualizes the emergence of an age that dissolves the religious and philosophical absolutes.

Nihilism as a philosophical doctrine denies the existence of any basis for Knowledge or Truth. Nihilism is often stated as the belief that there is no meaning or purpose in Human Existence. Nihilism demands the rejection of customary beliefs to religion, and morality. Nietzsche uses the term Nihilism to describe the devaluation of the highest values or the ‘ascetic ideal’ postulated by traditional philosophy and religion. Nietzsche was apparently preoccupied by the origin and function of values in human life. In his view, life neither possesses nor lacks intrinsic value and yet is always being evaluated. He concludes that the evaluations of life must be read as symptoms of the condition of the evaluator. It seems that Nietzsche wants to suggest that any evaluation of life is simply a matter of subjective opinion and there is no objective basis for evaluation of human life.

I find a problem with Nietzsche’s view and I claim that the fact of life, the condition of life, and the state of life do always have an objective basis and the objective basis of life could be verified by other scientific observers and by experimentation.

Nietzsche probes the fundamental cultural values of Western philosophy, religion, and morality which he characterized as expressions of ascetic ideal. Nietzsche claims that the ascetic ideal is born when suffering becomes endowed with ultimate significance. The Judeo-Christian tradition makes suffering tolerable by interpreting it as God’s intention and as an occasion for atonement. In Nietzsche’s opinion, Christianity makes a deceptive claim by attaching cosmic significance to each individual’s life and death. Similarly, Nietzsche points that traditional philosophy expresses the ascetic ideal when it privileged soul over body, mind over senses, duty over desire, reality over appearance, and the timeless over the temporal. Nietzsche attaches no merit in Christianity’s promise of Salvation to the Sinner who repents and to the same extent he ridicules the promise of Emancipation or Enlightenment offered by philosophy to the seekers of its Knowledge. Nietzsche makes a valid point in his statement about religion and philosophy which make the assumption that existence requires explanation, justification, and some form of expiation by either paying a penalty or by atonement. Nietzsche argues that both religion and philosophy denigrate experience in favor of true world. He views both as symptoms of a declining life in distress. In the decadence, in the decline and in the eventual collapse of the metaphysical and theological foundations and sanctions of traditional morality, Nietzsche apprehends a huge void, a pervasive sense of purposelessness, and meaninglessness. And the triumph of meaninglessness is the triumph of Nihilism. From this perspective, Nietzsche claims that “God is Dead.”

The Doctrine of Whole Nihilism:

Whole Dude – Whole Nihilism: Fertilization of an egg by a sperm, conception occurs in the oviduct. Cleavage (cell division) begins in the oviduct. as the embryo is moved. toward the uterus. by peristalsis and the. movements of cilia. 3. Cleavage continues. By the time the embryo. reaches the uterus, it is a ball of cells. It floats in the uterus for. several days, nourished by. endometrial secretions. It. becomes a blastocyst. 4. Ovary. Uterus. Endometrium. From ovulation to implantation. Inner cell mass. Cavity. Blastocyst. Trophoblast. (a) Implantation of blastocyst. (b) Fertilization occurs. A sperm. enters the oocyte; meiosis of. the oocyte finishes; and the. nuclei of the ovum and sperm. fuse, producing a zygote. 2. Ovulation releases a. secondary oocyte, which. enters the oviduct. 1. The blastocyst implants. in the endometrium. about 7 days after conception. 5.

At a fundamental level, man has no ability to attach meaning, purpose, or values to his own human existence. The religious doctrines, the different schools of philosophy do not provide the basic Knowledge and information that is used by the fertilized Egg Cell that divides, multiplies, grows, and develops into the complex, multicellular human organism. Man has no choice other than that of existing as an Individual with Individuality. Each human being arrives into the World as a Created Being and man has no ability to create a replica of this one of its own kind of living object.

Whole Dude – Whole Nihilism: The fertilized Egg Cell does not depend upon Knowledge that is exclusively acquired from Sensory Experience. 4 cells. 2 cells. morula. day 7. blastocyst. zygote. inner cell. mass of. blastocyst. Fertilization occurs. within the uterine. tube. sperm. embryo. day 0. The blastocyst. implants in the. uterus. ovary. ovulated egg. muscle layer. uterine wall. endometrium. (a) The first week of development.

The fertilized Egg Cell does not depend upon Knowledge that is exclusively acquired from Sensory Experience. To establish the fact of human life, the fertilized Egg Cell does not depend upon learning from Knowledge contained in books or imparted by educational experience.

The ‘ascetic ideal’ stated by Nietzsche has no relevance and has no significance as human life is not guided by those metaphysical, or theological values. Man cannot simply choose to exist by defining his Essence through his actions or things he want to do. The fact of Existence must always precede the ability to describe the attributes called Essence. The fertilized Egg Cell proceeds to perform its functions without any concerns about the meaning, purpose, or significance of the Life that it establishes as a Physical, Objective Reality.

Human Knowledge and Human Rationality are not the requirements for establishing the fact, the state, and the condition called Human Existence. To the same extent, it may be said that man is a Mortal Being as his Human Existence in Space is operated under the influence of Time and not by Human Knowledge and Rationality.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Nihilism: What is Reality and What is Appearance? What is Timeless and What is Temporal? Can mind, and senses explain the reality of this World?
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Nihilism: What is Reality and What is Appearance? What is Timeless and What is Temporal? Can mind, and senses explain the reality of this World?

Man may never know the distinction between Reality and Appearance as he ceases to exist in the absence of an influence called Grand Illusion. Man’s physical existence on planet Earth has a cosmic significance as Human Existence depends upon an extraterrestrial or Cosmic source of Energy. The external source of energy required for Life is not found on planet Earth and it has to be continuously supplied. This source of external Energy does not depend upon man’s ability to find meaning or purpose in his own existence.

The concept of ‘Whole Nihilism’ describes the fact, the reality, and the truth of Human Existence without any concern for meaning or purpose for that Existence.

IN GOD WE TRUST – SUPERMAN

WHOLEDUDE – WHOLEDESIGNER – SUPERMAN – THE DOCTRINE OF ETERNAL RECURRENCE:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Superman: Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche(1844 to 1900), German philosopher in his most celebrated book 'Thus Spake Zarathustra'(1883-85) introduced in eloquent poetic prose the concepts of the 'Superman', and the 'will to power'.

Nietzsche argued for the “Natural Aristocracy” of the ‘Superman’ who driven by the ‘Will to Power’ celebrates life on Earth rather than sanctifying it for some heavenly reward. Nietzsche described the concept of ‘Superman’ or ‘Superior Man’ based on his doctrine of “Eternal Recurrence.”

Nietzsche in his most celebrated book ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’ introduced the concepts of the Superman or Superior Man and the Will to Power. The basic conception of  Thus Spoke Zarathustra asks the question: “How well disposed would a person have to become to himself and to life to crave nothing more fervently than the infinite repetition without alternation, of each and every moment?” Nietzsche says, the person who could accept recurrence without self-deception or evasion would be a super human being or “UBERMENSCH”, a Superman whose distance from the ordinary man is greater than the distance between man and ape. This Superior Man would not be a product of long evolution; rather, he would emerge when any man with superior potential completely masters himself and strikes off conventional Christian “Herd Mentality” to create his own values, which are completely rooted in life on this Earth. Nietzsche attacked Christianity and Democracy as moralities for the “Weak Herd”. He argued for the “Natural Aristocracy” of the Superman who driven by the ‘Will to Power’ celebrates life on Earth rather than sanctifying it for some heavenly reward. Such a heroic man of merit has the courage to live “dangerously” and thus rise above the masses, developing his natural capacity for the creative use of passion. Nietzsche’s goal was a “Caesar with Christ’s Soul.”

WHOLEDUDE – WHOLEDESIGNER – THE CONCEPT OF “BHAVANAJAGAT”:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Superman: Nietzsche's concept of Superman, Superior Man, or "UBERMENSCH" is based on the Doctrine of Eternal Recurrence. In the concept of 'BHAVANAJAGAT' the world or 'JAGAT' exists in a constant state of motion. Fundamentally, there is no possibility of the infinite repetition without alteration of each and every moment as visualized by Nietzsche.

In the concept of ‘BHAVANAJAGAT’ the world or ‘JAGAT’ exists in a constant state of motion. Fundamentally, there is no possibility of the infinite repetition without alteration of each and every moment as visualized by Nietzsche.

Nietzsche’s concept of Superman, Superior Man, or “UBERMENSCH” is based on his doctrine of Eternal Recurrence. He visualized the possibility of the infinite repetition without alteration of each and every moment. In my concept of “BHAVANAJAGAT”, the term ‘JAGAT’ refers to planet Earth which exists in a state of constant motion without giving the possibility of the infinite repetition without alteration of each and every moment. Man’s thoughts, ideas, and the power of imagination have no effect on the reality of planet Earth and its nature of existence. Earth churns each future moment into a past moment without ever giving the man the opportunity to know the existence of any present moment. Each moment in the life of planet Earth is a new moment and there is no infinite repetition of any given or recognized moment. Man has to recognize the basic reality about Earth where there can never be two identical moments. “BHAVANAJAGAT” uses the term ‘BHAVANA’ to describe the Unchanging Principle that establishes the human existence in a constantly changing world. For man has no power to experience the repetition of any single moment during his entire period of physical existencethere is no possibility of man evolving into a Superman, Superior Man, or “UBERMENSCH”. Nietzsche’s concept is fundamentally flawed; his doctrine of Eternal Recurrence is a simple product of his mental imagination and it has no correspondence with any external reality. In fact, man has no physical or mental power to establish his own existence on Earth. Man has no intrinsic superior potential to master himself. Man is designed to exist in a constantly changing world without any potential to govern or rule the functions of the independent cells that constitute his body.

Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain
Indian Express, Wed Dec 11 2013

Define what it means before you decide what the army should do.
For the first time in years, a newspaper’s leadership has thrown up a serious strategic issue for debate. Kashmir is far too complex for inexperienced minds to fully comprehend and there are so many stakeholders it confounds even those who have a semblance of an idea. In a recent article in this paper (‘Disarming Kashmir’, Indian Express, December 7,), Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta talks about victory in the 24-year standoff and the necessity of an early withdrawal of the army from Kashmir’s hinterland. We must first highlight what Gupta is seeking through this thought-provoking article. He says the army has become weary and therefore less professional, having lost soldiers in tactical operations this year. He wants the army to strengthen the LoC and de-escalate in the Valley, because Kashmiris, he says, must get a part of the “peace” dividend. He takes a dig, saying that some respected general with five tenures in the Valley had told him that, having defeated the Lashkar, the army has only been building golf courses and guest houses for the last five years. He adds that if any of these bad boys show their faces in Kashmir again, the army can come back to sort them out. He claims that the military objective in Kashmir (if any was spelt out) has been achieved and, that the UPA government has veritably introduced a concept of governance — veto power (on strategic decisions) for the army. One of the most important points Gupta makes is, “you cannot find a Kashmir settlement with Pakistan before embracing your own Kashmiris and restoring trust with them first”.
On the face of it, this article evokes negatives all the way but re-reads throw up issues which need serious pondering. Unfortunately, not many are aware of the degree of intellectual analysis that the army itself has done of its role in Kashmir. It recently organised a full deliberation on the concept of victory at the Army War College, Mhow.

The first question is: have we ever enunciated an aim in Kashmir? In all these years, there never has been a clearly stated political aim given to the security forces. The informally stated military aim was stabilisation by controlling infiltration and eliminating terrorists. No one realises that in such situations, political and military aims cannot be separated. In 2011, we enunciated our own joint politico-military aim for our commanders — “integrate Jammu and Kashmir with mainstream India, politically, economically, socially and psychologically”. We were clear that eliminating terrorists was the easiest part of this war, that eliminating “terrorism” was the real challenge. I wish Gupta had faulted the army for not demanding the articulation of a politico-military aim as fighting without an aim is actually unfair. The lack of such an aim results in exactly what Gupta has done — declaring victory prematurely. Victory has to be measured against an aim, or else all kinds of versions are thrown around. We also have to measure victory against a realistic assessment of the future. Afghanistan 2014 with all its imponderables looms before us; any idea of victorious peace and subsequent actions has to be connected to it. Incidentally, I am speaking of victory as not against the people of Kashmir but for them, and against the intent of Pakistan, the separatists and terror groups.

It is essential to explain a few things to those with limited military orientation. First, Kashmir is a case of rim-land insurgency. It is not the LoC alone that needs to be strong. In the event of conventional war with Pakistan, the hinterland of Kashmir is as important as the LoC. It is here that the strategic assets exist, along with strategic arteries, which can be choked in war. Remember, in each Indo-Pak war, Pakistan has depended on the Kashmiri people to rise against us. Second, the larger number of incidents, and the loss of brave soldiers, this year should make us re-evaluate the actual military situation in the Valley. Ironically, this is least important in assessing victory. In counter-insurgency/ counter-terrorism campaigns, the answer finally lies in what the people think. Third, in all these years, no serious attempt was made to project to the Kashmiri people how and why their future lay only with India. The only agency that did this was the army. No government agency has ever put together a psychological campaign to win the confidence of the people. The army did it because it is a part of its professional responsibility and all international military counter-insurgency experience talks of winning hearts and minds (WHAM). The “hearts doctrine” articulated by the army in 2011-12 was the first strategically oriented WHAM programme in Kashmir. Separatism and radicalism run hand in hand in the Valley and it will take years of committed campaigning before these are diluted — the on and off presence of terror groups doesn’t help. Who has the capability to strategize, plan and stay committed to such a campaign but the army? To presume that the army has done its job and should hand over the responsibility to civilian agencies is absolutely correct, provided there are agencies who can take it forward to “peace”. If there is none, why rue the army’s insistence that its work must not be undone? Twenty-four years of institutional wisdom need not be sacrificed in the urgency for declaring a premature victory.

A few other observations by Gupta are designed to provoke non-intellectual minds, but they deserve a brief comment. The number of soldiers lost in negative incidents in a year is never reflective of the capability of an army fighting terrorism. Moreover, the deployment of the regular army in the hinterland is at its minimum today. The army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) operates in the hinterland and its soldiers never get exhausted because it has a well-thought-out relief programme. Tactical minds within the RR also rue their presence among the populace, to neutralise just a handful of terrorists each year. This really is the problem — a misunderstanding that the RR’s task is to kill terrorists alone, and not recognising that the task of a counter-insurgency force is to cement the separatist population with the mainstream. There is something else that our countrymen need to know about the RR: the professional and experienced military force is our add-on resource for conventional operations, especially now that 110 wings of Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (the country’s virtual RR) have received operational experience and modern weaponry to make them force multipliers. That is a major reason the RR cannot be disbanded or re-deployed for counter-insurgency tasks in Naxal-affected areas.

To claim victory over terror groups is premature also because the number of surrendered terrorists in the Valley (all with different shades of antipathy to the establishment) is higher than the number of terrorists in holding camps and launch pads in PoK. None of the promises (by the state government or the police) to these surrendered terrorists has been fulfilled, creating a potential resource for home terror.

Gupta’s most potent statement is, “Because its (the government’s) politics is frozen, it has introduced an unprecedented new factor in Indian policymaking: a veto for the army”. Seeking and giving professional military advice is a part of governance and on Siachen, Kashmir or Manipur, the army has offered just that. If you go by this accusation, every proposal by the army should have been accepted. In the case of Siachen, it is the trust deficit that prevents the vacation of the Saltoro Ridge; on the Armed Forces (Jammu and Kashmir) Special Powers Act, 1990, the government almost relented but the only organisation that offered a rationale for its retention was the army. Its arguments went well beyond the ordinary, explaining just how it was balancing hard and soft power in the emerging situation and just how the AFSPA was only an umbrella to be used in an emergency. The army likes a cemented victory and celebration for the people, not a half-baked one which gives adversaries reason for glee.

The general with five tenures in Kashmir who says the army is out of a job needs to revisit Kashmir. Not a single new golf course has come up and yes, guest rooms are indeed necessary to ensure that more armchair strategists visit Kashmir to be briefed at Keran, Machel, Gurez, Uri, Sopore, Tral and Shopian, before passing judgement on their professional army. Don’t just visit Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam to make up your mind because the advice you will then proffer will never meet the professional needs of our army or that of our nation. Learn to trust your army — it is your army.

WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Aesthetics: Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten(1714-1762), German philosopher coined the term ‘Aesthetics’ from the Greek word for Perception(aisthesis). It denotes a realm of concrete knowledge in which content is communicated in sensory form.

Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of art and the criteria of artistic judgment. Aesthetics involves the study or theory of beauty and of the psychological responses to it. Aesthetics has developed into a broad field of knowledge and inquiry. The term was coined by Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten to denote a realm of concrete knowledge in which content is communicated in sensory form. Now the term is applied to the study of all the works of the fine arts, the useful arts(crafts) and natural phenomena(eg., landscapes, the human face and body) that have aesthetic value and generate an experience called aesthetic experience. Plato and Aristotle formulated the conception of art as an imitation of nature. Beauty inheres in the object itself and may be judged objectively. Hume identified beauty with that which pleases the observer. Baumgarten emphasized on the importance of feeling. If art imitates nature, the artist must deliberately alter nature by adding elements of feeling to perceive reality. The artistic process involves the use of illusion to mirror the creative process of the world.

A Study in Aesthetics – The Birth of Tragedy out of the Spirit of Music:

In his first book, The Birth of Tragedy Out of the Spirit of Music (1872), German philosopher Nietzsche presented a theory of Greek mythology and of the foundations of art. He introduced his famous distinction or dichotomy between the Apollonian or rational element in human nature, and the Dionysian or passionate element of human nature as exemplified in the Greek gods Apollo and Dionysus. In Nietzsche’s view, man achieves a momentary harmony with the Primordial Mystery when the two principles of rational and passionate nature are blended either in art or in life. His book remains a classic in the history of Aesthetics to this day.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Aesthetics: Greek god Apollo is the god of all plastic energies, the deity of light, god of reason, and god of life and form giving force. Nietzsche describes Apollo as the reality that is ordered and differentiated by forms.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Aesthetics: Greek god Dionysus is the god of fertility, and passion. He taught mankind viticulture. He is capable of dreadful revenge upon those who deny his divinity. According to Nietzsche, Dionysus represents reality as disordered and undifferentiated by forms. Dionysus is the god of Choral Music, self-forgetting, embraces chaos and frees the self to seek unity with others and gives way to a primal unity with Nature.

Nietzsche described an art form that transcended the pessimism and nihilism of a fundamentally meaningless world. The tragedy of Ancient Greece was the highest form of art. The Apollonian element represents measure, restraint, and harmony The Apollonian element is found in the dialogue which gives a concrete symbolism that balances the Dionysian element. The Apollonian spirit is able to give form to the abstract Dionysian. Nietzsche claims that the Dionysian element  is to be found in the music of the chorus. Under the influence of wine or of narcotic draught, the Dionysian element makes everything subjective to vanish into complete self-forgetfulness.

Nietzsche describes the inseparable ecstasy and suffering of human existence. He states that man’s ability to live creatively in optimistic harmony with the sufferings of life demand the use of both Apollonian and Dionysian elements. Plato reasons that it is only an aesthetic phenomenon that existence and world are eternally justified. However, Nietzsche claims that knowledge and rationality in themselves do nothing to justify existence and the world. In Nietzsche’s view, life finds meaning only through art, music and tragedy. Existence and world become meaningful not as objects of knowledge but as artistic experiences. Nietzsche includes the Buddhist or the Eastern philosophy of pain and suffering as an inescapable attribute of human existence and emphasizes a tragic longing for nothingness and absence of will. Nietzsche recommends to live a life in a human-dreamt world of illusions. He sees existence as an illusion of illusion. Nietzsche bemoaned the final destruction of Greek tragedy by Greek philosophical inquiry which sought a more logical connection between Nature and mankind. Euripides, Socrates and their disciples demanded a rational explanation of the Greek myths and caused the final destruction of Ancient Greece’s religion and culture.

Whole Aesthetics – Whole Existence – Whole Unity – Whole Harmony:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Aesthetics: I use the term 'Whole Aesthetics' to describe the 'Wholeness' of Human Existence that requires the harmony between Dependence and Freedom, the Unity between Spirit and Soul.
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Aesthetics: Greek philosophical inquiry sought a more logical connection between nature and mankind. Euripides and Socrates demanded a rational explanation of Greek myths and caused the final destruction of Homeric pantheon. I use the term ‘Whole Aesthetics’ to describe the ‘Wholeness’ of Human Existence that requires the ‘Whole Harmony’ between Dependence and Freedom, the Whole Harmony between Illusion and Reality, the ‘Whole Unity’ between Spirit and Soul. At the School of Athens, artist Raphael uses the illusion of an artistic process to create a scene where Plato and Aristotle are debating their conflicting views about Human Nature and Human Existence.

Aesthetics involves the study of objects that have an inherent aesthetic quality to generate an aesthetic experience in the mind of an observer who has the capacity to interpret sensory information. An artist uses the artistic process to capture the creative process of the world by integrating illusion with reality.

I describe the conflict in the nature of human existence is caused by the tension between the two basic elements called Dependence, and Freedom. Human Dependence upon an external source of energy and sustenance is made possible by the vital, animating principle called Soul. The Joy, the Happiness, the Blissful condition of Existence gives the man the desire for Freedom, the Freedom or Independence from Dependence that establishes the Existence. The pursuit of Freedom may make man to live dangerously with a spirit of recklessness. Finally, Death is inevitable as there is no escape from the nature of Dependent Existence. Man uses the power of Imagination to secure his Freedom from Death and Dependence. Man creates an illusion of eternal life in which he sees the illusion of his Freedom. Spirit is the principle that governs man’s desire for Freedom, and Independence. It is with the principle of Spirit man is able to dream, imagine, and create an illusion that gives him the relief or the escape from the reality of pain and suffering.

I use the term ‘Whole Aesthetics’ to describe the integration of the principles of Soul and Spirit to bring ‘Whole Unity’ and ‘Whole Harmony’ between the conflicting elements of Dependence and Freedom by using an artistic process of combining reality with illusion. I discern the application of this artistic process in the works of Whole Artist or Whole Designer who makes man to live on the surface of a fast spinning object called planet Earth where the Power of Time churns every future instant into a past instant without ever giving man the chance to recognize the experience of a present instant. The reality of human existence is the experience of grand illusion.

SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – WHOLEMONAD

WHOLEDUDE – WHOLEDESIGNER – WHOLE MONAD:

The word ‘monad’ means a unit, something simple and indivisible, and refers to unity. In Biology, monad refers to any simple, single-celled organism specifically a simple type of flagellated protozoa or protist. In Chemistry, monad refers to a monovalent atom, element, or radical. In Philosophy, monad is an entity or elementary being thought of as a microcosm or ultimate unit. Monadism is the theory that the universe consists of monads.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Monad: In Biology, the term monad refers to any simple, single-celled organism such as protozoa like Amoeba proteus. This monad is conscious, and performs intelligent actions. In its structure and function, the harmony is achieved by the vital, animating principle called Spirit or Soul.

MONADOLOGY – THE METAPHYSICAL DOCTRINE OF LEIBNIZ:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Monad: Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz(1646-1716), German philosopher and mathematician. His theory of monads is shared in his work 'Monadology'(1714).
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Monad: Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz(1646-1716), German philosopher and mathematician. His theory of monads is shared in his work ‘Monadology'(1714). According to Leibniz, the world is composed of atoms of energy that are psychic.

Leibniz is associated with the philosophical theory called ‘Panpsychism'( from Greek – pan – all and psyche – soul) which asserts that a plurality of separate and distinct psychic beings or minds constitute reality. Panpsychism is distinguished from ‘Pantheism'(everything is God). According to Leibniz, the world is composed of atoms of energy that are psychic.  These basic elements or atoms are named monads. These monads have different levels of consciousness; in inorganic reality they are sleeping, in animals they are dreaming, in man they are waking. Further, Leibniz asserts that God is the fully conscious monad. In the metaphysics of Leibniz, the basic constituent element of physical reality is an indivisible, impenetrable unit of substance. He allows just one type of element in the build of the universe. The unique element has been given the general name of monad. He describes a basic order of three things; 1. created monads, 2. souls with perception and memory, and 3. spirits or rational souls. The degree of perfection in each case corresponds to their psychic abilities. Leibniz tried to reason that everything exists according to a reason and everything which exists has a sufficient reason to exist. He tried to solve the problem of mind-body dualism introduced by Rene Descartes. Leibniz speaks of pre-established harmony that can solve the mind-body problem. Descartes thinks that the ‘soul’ is distinct from the physical body and its nature is to ‘think’. Leibniz opposed John Locke’s theory that the mind is a “tabula rasa”(blank tablet) at birth and humans learn only through the senses. John Locke defined consciousness as a psychological condition. It is described as the perception of what passes in a man’s mind. Consciousness is viewed as a form of relationship or act of the mind towards objects in nature. Leibniz is regarded as a universal genius and is regarded as a founder of modern science. He anticipated the development of symbolic logic and, independently of Newton invented the Calculus with a superior notation. He attempted to build an institutional framework for the Sciences in central Europe and Russia. At his urging the Brandenburg Society(The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities) was founded in 1700. The purpose of the Academy is that of bringing unity between Natural Sciences and Humanities.

MIND vs BODY – THE UNITY OF SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES:

WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Monad: The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities founded by Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz in 1700. We have yet to establish and describe the reality using words to which a definite meaning is attached.

Due to a lack of unity between Natural Sciences and Humanities, we are not able to describe the reality of man, and have failed to describe the reality of this universe using words to which a definite meaning is attached. The universe is build using units such as Matter, Energy, Space, and Time. Man is composed of atoms, and chemical elements like any other form of physical matter. The difference is that of the nature of existence. The physical, non-living matter requires no supply of energy from an external source to maintain its physical existence. The living things that include all “monads” apart from man need continuous supply of energy from the external environment to sustain existence. The atoms and chemical elements of man do have mass and energy and yet that energy is not available for maintaining the living condition.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Monad: I would like to describe the fertilized Egg Cell or Human Ovum called Zygote as a "Whole Monad." The entire human organism including the mind, and body is derived by the multiplication of this Single Cell, Single Unit, or Single Element. It is 'Whole' for it has Spirit or Soul that establishes the structural and functional harmony between the cells, tissues, and organ systems of the human being.

The term ‘Soul’ and ‘Spirit’ is often associated with attributes such as intelligence, consciousness, and mental activity such as thinking and discernment. The term ‘intelligence’ should not be limited to the cognitive and discerning abilities of mind or brain. If the term intellect refers to the ability to perform intelligent actions, we may have to consider that all living functions have the characteristics of intelligent actions as compared to mechanical or transitive actions that could be performed by non-living physical matter. I would like to define the word ‘intellect’ as the intuitive ability with which each individual living cell performs very complex, sequential, guided, purposeful, and selective functions to maintain its own living condition. Knowledge is implanted in the substance called living matter to give it the ability to perform intelligent functions. What Leibniz has not recognized is the ‘dynamic’ nature of this basic substance or element that he has named as monad. This substance maintains its constant, unchanging nature while undergoing a change during its entire period of existence. Life is a dynamic process that involves the repair or replacement of its constituent organic molecules and taking immanent action that is called growth and development. This dynamic process is influenced by the operation of Time and manifests itself using the dimension called Space. For this reason, I would like to describe the Creator, the LORD God as a WholeArtist, WholeArchitect, WholePlanner, and a WholeDesigner who uses the building blocks of Matter, Energy, Space, and Time in a creative manner to establish the experience of reality.

IN GOD WE TRUST – WHOLE PHENOMENON

WHOLEDUDE – WHOLEDESIGNER – WHOLE PHENOMENON:

WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Phenomenon: Northern Lights are described as a natural phenomenon. What is Phenomenon? Can we know Reality through Human Experience?

The word “Phenomenon” is described as any event, circumstance, or experience that is apparent to the senses and that can be scientifically described or apprised. Phenomenology is described as a study of perceptual experience. Edmund Gustav Albrecht Husserl(1859-1938), German philosopher and mathematician is the founder of Phenomenology. He offered a descriptive study of consciousness for the purpose of discovering the laws by which experiences of the objective world or of pure imagination can occur. It is my impression that all human experiences of the objective world and of human imagination can occur only under the influence of the Power/Force/Energy called Illusion which is popularly described as “MAYA” in Indian Sanskrit language. To facilitate man’s powers of sensory and intuitive perception, it demands the operation of a mechanism called ‘Illusion’. Man has no choice other than that of gaining perceptual experience under the influence of Mercy, Grace, and Compassion that establishes, supports, and sustains human existence. In this context of the fundamental basis for human existence, the term “Whole Phenomenon” can be stated as any event, circumstance, or experience that can be known by human senses, or the mental faculty called intuition under the influence of Illusion.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF CONSCIOUSNESS:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Phenomenon: "Pure Phenomenology claims to be the science of pure phenomena. This concept of the phenomenon, which was developed under various names as early as the eighteenth century without being clarified is what we shall have to deal with first of all." - Edmund Husserl, the Founder of Phenomenology.
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Phenomenon: “Pure Phenomenology claims to be the science of pure phenomena. This concept of the phenomenon, which was developed under various names as early as the eighteenth century without being clarified is what we shall have to deal with first of all.” – Edmund Husserl, the Founder of Phenomenology.

I share the same concern that was expressed by Edmund Husserl, the Founder of Phenomenology. We need to clarify the term phenomenon and it will become apparent that there can never be a Science of Pure Phenomena as the Subjective and Objective reality of man’s physical existence on planet Earth’s surface depends upon the experience of Illusion. Husserl shared the maxim of the “Philosophy of Consciousness” which states, “All consciousness is consciousness of something.” His chief works were ‘Logical Investigations'(1900-1901), ‘Ideas for a Pure Phenomenology'(1907), ‘Cartesian Meditations(1931), and ‘Experience and Judgment'(1939). Husserl offered a descriptive study of consciousness, he gave a description of the consciousness of time, he discussed a person’s experience of other minds and humans’ lived relationship with the world. He concluded that consciousness has no life apart from the objects it considers. But, in his later works he denied the existence of objects outside of consciousness. Husserl developed a philosophical method devoid of presuppositions by focusing purely on phenomena and elucidating their meaning through intuition. He held that experience is the source of all knowledge. His method of ‘phenomenological reduction’ excludes anything that cannot be perceived, and thus is not immediately given to the consciousness. Husserl’s method involves the study of phenomena, or appearances of human experience while attempting to suspend all consideration of their objective reality or subjective association. He wanted to avoid all philosophical, and scientific presuppositions. He wanted to discover the essential structures and relationships of the phenomena as well as the acts of consciousness in which the phenomena appeared. In his later work, he had suspended or excluded all beliefs about the external existence of the objects of consciousness. In his opinion, this suspension of all references to the reality of the thing experienced left the person with nothing but the experience itself. Husserl divided this experience into the “noesis”(act of consciousness) and the “noema”(object of consciousness). In my view, Husserl had missed to state his understanding of the ‘Seat of Consciousness’. If consciousness is about the experience of something, that experience demands the existence of some material substance, or a Seat of Consciousness. I can mentally imagine the existence of immaterial things, and yet the experience of immaterial objects or things by acts of intuition need a seat of consciousness.

THE METHOD OF PHENOMENOLOGICAL REDUCTION:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Whole Phenomenon: The natural phenomenon called Earth's Rotation is never experienced by the consciousness of man. The reality of Earth's motions, the Angular Speed, the Linear Velocity is not experienced at all. Man simply exists because of this exclusion or suspension of consciousness.
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Whole Phenomenon: The natural phenomenon called Earth’s Rotation is never experienced by the consciousness of man. The reality of Earth’s motions, the Angular Speed, the Linear Velocity is not experienced at all. Man simply exists because of this exclusion or suspension of consciousness.

Husserl proposed the methodological suspension of all judgments about the character and even about the existence of the objects of consciousness in order to describe experience from inside. He was concerned about what it meant for something to appear, or to be a phenomenon. He found it necessary to suspend judgment about the given reality of things, to “bracket” the data or consciousness, in order to describe them. He had used this method to examine imaginary objects just like other physical objects. He concluded that consciousness is dependent on the object it considers. He had observed, “If all consciousness is subject to essential laws in a manner similar to that in which spatial reality is subject to mathematical laws, then these essential laws will be of most fertile significance in investigating facts of the conscious life of human and brute animals.” While I am not opposed to his phenomenological method, I want to observe that the ‘WholeDesigner’ has already imposed a suspension, or exclusion upon man’s cognitive abilities. Man can only perceive the reality of this physical world as a product of Illusion and will never have consciousness of the fact of its speed of rotational spin.

ADHYATMA VIDYA – WHOLE SPIRIT

WHOLEDUDE – WHOLEDESIGNER – SPIRIT:

Life depends upon a virtually uninterrupted supply of materials or matter for its metabolism. If the word Spirit or Soul is defined as the vital, animating principle found in all living things, we need to understand the relationship between Matter and Spirit. The concern about the importance of matter is often ridiculed as Materialism, and man is often directed to value Spiritualism where the point of emphasis is man’s direct relationship with God. The separation of Matter and Spirit as two distinct entities will not help us to understand the reality of human existence. Man has to know that there is no disunity between Matter and Spirit. If Spirit is the medium of direct relationship between man and God, the nature of this medium is discovered from the nature of matter that man consumes as food and drink to establish his life.

WHAT IS MANNA? WHAT IS IT?  IS IT FOOD?:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Spirit: What is Manna? What is it? Is it Food? Manna is described as a special substance provided for the Hebrews during the exodus from Egypt. The name is of uncertain meaning. The name is of uncertain meaning. This substance or matter had saved the lives of Hebrews and had specifically protected them from hunger and thirst, the two primary sensations that reveal man’s dependence upon physical matter for his conditioned existence. Its miraculous delivery from heaven shows the nature of relationship between man, matter, spirit, and God.

The Old Testament Book of Exodus(Chapter 4, verse #4) and the Book of Numbers(Chapter 11, verse#9) describe “Manna” coming with the dew, and may have collected in dewdrops. It was white, of delicious flavor, and resembled the seed of coriander, and it was both tasty, and nourishing. Being seed like in form, it had to be ground and was used in making bread. As soon as other food was available, the miraculous supply of Manna ceased(The Book of Joshua, Chapter 5, verse #12). No known substance meets the description of this food material. The Bible makes it certain that Manna came as a temporary provision and Hebrew writers described it  as “corn from heaven”, bread from heaven, and as “angels’ bread.” However, I see its importance from the statement made by Jesus to make a distinction between physical matter, and Spirit or Spiritual Matter.

GOD IS THE SOURCE OF LIFE WITH MATTER AND SPIRIT:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Spirit: God has absolute Life in Himself and is the source of all Life. If God is uncreated, Life is Eternal, Immortal, Imperishable, Indestructible, Immutable, Immovable, and is uncreated. The Gospel According to Apostle John, Chapter 5, verse#26 states:"For as the Father has Life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have Life in Himself." The condition called "Death" is a variable condition like the dimensions of mass, energy, space, and time, the building blocks used in the plan and in the design of all things present in the universe.

The Gospel According to Apostle John, Chapter 5, verse#26 states:”For as the Father has Life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have Life in Himself.” It must be noted that Spirit inhabits the entire body and is not limited to some unknown area of brain, or heart. Spirit belongs to both flesh, and blood. The condition called “Death” is a variable condition like the dimensions of Matter, Energy, Space, and Time, the building blocks used in the plan and in the design of all things present in the universe.

Life is a complex concept with varied shades of meaning. It may denote physical or natural life. The term Life is often used to describe the actions, or experiences, the activities, and the relations that make up Life. If Spirit is the vital principle of Life, or Breath of Life, God has infused Spirit into the substance of man making him a living Soul. This Spirit inhabits the entire body of the person and makes man a Spiritual being. The Old Testament Book of Genesis, Chapter 2, verse#7 proclaims: “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” The problem of physical death, the period of man’s earthly existence, and the duration of man’s lifetime has to be explained taking into account the imperishable nature of Matter and the Laws of Conservation of Mass and Energy. Jesus speaks to Nicodemus, who was described as a leading Pharisee, and a member of the Sanhedrin. He came to Jesus by night and the conversation is reported in the New Testament Book of John, Chapter 3, verses 1 to 21. He instructed him: “Jesus answered, I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit”(verses 5 and 6) and made Nicodemus aware of his need by announcing the necessity of a new birth in order “to see the Kingdom of God.” Man is constituted as a Spiritual being and due to the intervention of sin, man has become ignorant of his own true, or real spiritual nature. To save himself from the burden imposed by sin, man has to be infused with Spirit and Jesus says that man who is born, must experience rebirth. Jesus further explained this relation between Matter and Spirit in the Book of John, Chapter 6, in several verses(#25-69). In verse#35 Jesus declared: “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to me will never go hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” Jesus has clearly recognized that Matter and Spirit serve the same function, the function of supporting Life in two different dimensions. Jesus is the source of Life and Spirit and that Spirit inhabits His entire body, in flesh and blood, and is not limited to a secret hiding place in either mind or heart. The Old Testament Book of Leviticus, Chapter 17, verse#14 states: “because the life of every creature is its blood.” If Life is associated with blood, Spirit is also associated with blood. In John 6:63, Jesus states: “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and they are life.” Man who faces the burden of sin called Death, is required to infuse himself with Spirit, and the source of this Spirit is the Word that was spoken.

THE LIVING WATERS – THE SATIATION OF HUNGER AND THIRST – THE EXPERIENCE OF JOY:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Spirit: The Concept of Living Waters. Jesus talks with a Samaritan woman at Jacob's Well near the village of Sychar. Apparently, Jesus was thirsty like any other human being and had asked the woman to serve Him water and carefully explained as to how the physical matter or substance called water can become the "Living Waters" in both physical Life and Spiritual Life.

Apparently, Jesus was thirsty like any other human being and had asked the woman to serve Him water and carefully explained as to how the physical matter or substance called water can become the “Living Waters” in both physical Life and Spiritual Life. Water is physical matter and is the most important chemical molecule of all physical Life. And in a similar manner, when infused with Spirit, it becomes the source for eternal Life. The satisfaction of both physical, and Spiritual hunger and thirst is experienced by man.

It is very easy to understand the experience called thirst. Hunger and Thirst are the symptoms that define the nature of man’s conditioned existence. The conversation between Jesus and a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well near the village of Sychar is reported in the New Testament Book of John, Chapter 4, verses # 4 to 42. It is abundantly clear that the nature of Spirit can be understood from the nature of Matter as both of them have a role in providing sustenance to man and maintain his Life. To fetch water from a well, man needs tools like a rope, and a cistern. Similarly, man needs the tools called Faith and Belief to insert or to infuse, or imbibe Spirit into his mind, heart, and body and gain access to eternal Life. Just like the rope, and the cistern, to quench Spiritual Thirst, and to feed Spiritual Hunger, man needs tools called Faith and Belief. When man’s thirst, and hunger are fully satisfied, the satiated person gets the experience called Contentment. When Spiritual Thirst, and Spiritual Hunger are satiated, man gets the experience called Joy. The human experience called Joy is as real as the experience of hunger and thirst.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Spirit: Living Waters. The New Testament, The Gospel According to John, Chapter 3, verse#5 , Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and the Spirit."
WholeDude – WholeDesigner – Spirit: Matter and Spirit Relationship: The Living Waters: The New Testament, The Gospel According to John, Chapter 3, verse#5 , Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and the Spirit.” Water is physical matter but it is derived from an Infinite Substance called God and hence it can be a source of eternal Life.

In my opinion, Matter, and Spirit work together to establish man’s relationship with God. For God is the only unchangeable, or eternal reality; wherever man is, in Life or in Death, God will be there. If this relationship pertains to a matter of Faith and Belief, The Old Testament Book of Psalms, The Book of King David, Psalm 16, verse #10 gives the Hope:

“Because you will not abandon me to the grave,

nor will you let your Holy one see decay.”

Life means the experience of Peace, Harmony, Tranquility, Hope, Fear, Love, Joy, and Wisdom. The problem of Death is experienced as a Fear as Death means the inability to have subjective experience associated with Life. But, man does not exist in the physical world because of the abilities of his physical, or mental work. Man exists because of the nature of Matter, and Spirit and this nature is only an extension of the Divine Nature.

Photoperiodism is described as the behavioral or physiological reaction of an organism to changes of duration in daily, seasonal, or yearly periods of light and darkness. The changes in activities occur on daily basis as well as with a consistent pattern when the seasons change. For example, the Autumn or Fall season in the Northern Hemisphere includes the months of September, October, and November. Fall is the season of the year in which many trees change in their appearance; the color of their leaves changes and then trees lose their leaves. Autumn is the season that comes between Summer, and Winter seasons. In the astronomical year, the Fall season is the period between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice. The characteristic of Fall is the beginning of decline in activities of several living organisms to prepare for subsequent changes expected to come in future. Daily periods of light and darkness determine to a great extent when seasonal activities occur. An important prerequisite to the response to light that occurs in Winter and Spring is exposure to short days or long nights in Autumn. This phase of the annual cycle is called the Preparatory Phase. This preparation is important for the subsequent response. Under experimental conditions it is shown that the failure to complete the Preparatory Phase will undermine the organism’s subsequent response to changes in the next phase.

Hence, Autumn is a season of preparation for the arrival of Winter and Spring seasons. This preparation has the characteristics of planning, and designing the responses of organisms to forthcoming events in future. This ability to connect the activities of past, and present with activities that occur in future requires the operation of an unchanging principle that is not influenced by the changes of time.

The colorful changes that we witness during the Autumn season would relate us to the works of a Whole Designer, a Whole Architect, a Whole Planner, and a Whole Artist.

Photoperiodism was first reported in 1920 when the flowering of certain plants was demonstrated to be controlled by the daily duration of light. The photoperiodic response of plants may actually depend on the duration of the darkness. Some of the conspicuous activities of animals closely correlated with certain seasons of the year or with changes in day length are bird migration, reproduction and changes in coat and plumage. In most birds, mammals, and other vertebrates, breeding is seasonal. For species such as brook trout, deer, sheep, and goats breeding begins in Autumn. The light stimulates the release of special hormones from the brain which in turn stimulate the pituitary gland which secretes the hormones that function to control the growth of the reproductive organs. The length of the dark period and the ratio of light to darkness are important factors in determining the reproductive response. Practical applications of knowledge of photoperiodism are common in poultry management, for the length of daylight affects laying, sperm production, and bodyweight of the fowl.

Photoperiodism – Biological Rhythms and Biological Clock:

Whole Dude – Whole Designer – Photoperiodism

Organisms have synchronized their living functions to their rhythmic environments and have become periodic in diverse aspects of their physiology and behavior. Periodic biological phenomena fall into two distinct, different categories: 1. Those correlated with periodic changes of the planet or geophysical correlates, and 2. Those correlated to an internal timing mechanism often called the ‘Biological Clock’. The living things to some extent behave like ‘Living Clocks’; 1. A timing capacity geared to the rhythmic variations of the natural environment, the alternating periods of light and darkness called day and night, and 2. A timing capacity that operates in response to the flow of time as the planet Earth spins and moves without providing sensory stimuli of its motions.

Timing information continuously flows in from the environment and no organism can exist under constant conditions of life. All life exists on planet Earth which exists in a constant state of motion as a member of the Solar System which also exists in a constant state of motion.

The biological rhythm results in part as a direct response to the environment and in part as an indirect response via the complex clock-timed organization.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Photoperiodism: There are two kinds of biological responses or rhythms. 1. The activities like Sleep and Wakefulness are related to the fluctuations of physical environment such as darkness, and light, or night and day variation, and 2. The rhythms such as heartbeat, and respiratory rate occur without external geophysical correlates as a consequence of the movements of the Earth.

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Photoperiodism: Man's biological functions are influenced by the WholeSpin. Man has sensory awareness of that part of Earth's spin that causes an environmental change called Day/Night. Otherwise, man is blissfully unaware of the aspect of Earth's Spin that happens all the time without any perceptible change. But, man is always influenced by the flow of time and his existence is measured as if there is a precise internal clock.

Whole Dude – Whole Spin:

WholeDude - WholeDesigner - Photoperiodism: The WholeSpin is a unique mechanism that is indissociable from Life itself. While the Sun shines with all its brightness 24-hours all the time, the WholeSpin allows man to experience alternating periods of light(Day), and darkness(Night) to plan his physiological functions and activities in the external environment. There is this equally important aspect of the WholeSpin; man's existence on the surface of planet Earth depends upon the lack of direct sensory awareness of the speed/velocity of Earth's Spin.

Biological Clocks time the Solar Day, the period of Earth’s spin or rotation relative to the Sun. While Earth spins or rotates, man experiences the illusion of Sun’s apparent motion across the path called Ecliptic and exists on the surface of Earth in a state of blissful ignorance of Earth’s Angular Speed, or Linear Velocity. The daily rhythm of about 24 hours’ duration makes it appear as though the organism is keeping track of each day and behaves as if it is a Living Clock. Light appears to be the dominant Phase Setter or Synchronizer of activity pattern during the 24-hour cycles. The 24-hour rhythms are called Solar Day, Circadian, Diel, Daily, Diurnal (day-active), and Night-Active rhythms. Plants show their daily rhythm in sleep movements such as the daytime raising and nighttime lowering of their leaves, and the timing of flowering activity. In man, the daily alternation of sleep and wakefulness is accompanied by many chemical and physiological changes that include the activities of the nervous, endocrine systems, and the liver and kidneys. Daily variations occur in body temperature, in heart and respiratory rates, and in blood pressure and composition of blood. There are daily variations in chemical syntheses and in cell divisions. Living systems display a timing capacity and behave as if they contain a highly dependable clock. The specialized properties of this clock suggest that it involves some unique biological mechanism indissociable from life itself.

I suggest that all natural phenomena require the operation of an unchanging condition that gives the opportunity to the change that is manifested. The change called Day and Night, and the changes called Seasons are manifested because of an unchanging condition; the fact of the Sun shining with its full brightness 24-hours, and at all times.

The rhythmically recurring phenomena called biological rhythms operate under the influence of an unchanging, vital, animating principle called Soul, or Spirit which is not influenced by time or external geophysical correlates. The designing of Matter, Energy, Space, and Time relationships can be studied as Spiritual Optics.

Photoreception is the biological response of an organism to stimulation by light. It is not the same as the Photoelectric Effect which non-living matter such as metals can exhibit. Among living things, the presence of consciousness is displayed by their biological responses to environmental stimuli.

Whole Dude – Whole Designer – Photoreception:

In plants the primary photoreceptive response is described as photosynthesis, a photobiological process which leads to the conversion of carbon dioxide and water to the essential nutritive elements of all life using the energy of the Sun.

Photoreception is the mechanism by which animals receive sensory information transmitted by light of different qualities and wavelengths. Just like photosynthesis, the function called vision is a vital photobiological process that is required to support existence. At a fundamental level, the visual function is concerned with supporting existence. Visual clues assist in finding food, to avoid threats to existence, and help to achieve reproductive success.

Almost all organisms derive their food directly, or indirectly from the organic compounds formed within plants during photosynthesis. The stored chemical energy in those organic compounds is essential for growth, repair, reproduction, movement, and other vital functions. In animals, the ability of photoreception is dependent upon the chemical energy provided by organic molecules called Adenosine Triphosphate or ATP that is produced by intracellular organelles called mitochondria which use the chemical reaction called oxidation-reduction to oxidize the organic molecules created by plants using photosynthetic energy.

Whole Dude – Whole Designer – Photoreception: God is viewed as the Creator of Light.

Thus photoreception is the fundamental photobiological process that maintains life on planet Earth. If God is viewed as the Creator of Light, Photoreception could be stated as the most important feature of a Whole Design to establish life on planet Earth.

For man has the capacity called vision, he should be able to visualize the Whole Design used by the Whole Designer, or Whole Architect, a Master Planner. Man gained insights about photoreception and the photosynthetic process over several centuries of careful observations and scientific experimentation.

Photoreception – Vision:

Whole Dude – Whole Designer – Photoreception

The photochemical events in vision involve the protein Opsin and the isomers of Retinal. Nerve impulses are generated by changes in the shape of proteins. The activation of visual pigment called Rhodopsin causes the nerve impulse. The photoreceptor cells of eye absorb light through a layer of pigment and convert it  into a stimulus directed toward the nervous system where it is recognized. The pigment responsible for nerve excitation consists of the chemical compound Chromophore which absorbs light, and a protein complex known as Opsin. The Chromophore contained in all visual pigments is nearly identical. Variations in the range of wavelength reception by different pigments are the result of differences in the structure of animal proteins. To describe very briefly, the process of photo or light reception involves the conversion of the light stimulus into a nerve response which is caused by changes in the electrochemical equilibrium of cell membranes.

Photoreception is an intelligent function that leads to immanent actions in which the living thing senses, grows, and develops performing those actions. Photoreception in living things is unlike the mechanical action performed by a camera made by man. Photoreception is created to synchronize the existence of the two major systems of life; plants and animals perform their living functions to complement the functions and actions of each other. Hence Photoreception could be described as the spiritual basis for all kinds of existence on planet Earth.
