Whole Dude – Whole Misery: October 01, 1949 – I can never ever live my life as a normal person. Long life is indeed a burden when it’s spent in Misery. Questions are a burden to others; answers are a prison for oneself.
Excerpt: The content discusses the historical event of October 1, 1949, when Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Communist Party, announced the creation of the People’s Republic of China. The author refers to the immediate imposition of misery on the Tibetan population and the author’s personal life as not being ‘normal’. The piece reflects on the US’s reaction to communist China, the nuclear threat from the Soviet Union, and accusations of the Truman administration mishandling the situation. It also recounts US refusal to acknowledge communist China and the eventual diplomatic recognition in 1979 as part of President Richard Nixon’s visit.

On ‘This Day in History’, October 01, 1949, Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong proclaimed the founding of People’s Republic of China with profound consequences to lives of individuals as well as nations of Asia and World. Communist China wasted no time to impose a life of Whole Misery on the lives of Tibetan people.

Naming himself head of state, communist revolutionary Mao Zedong officially proclaims the existence of the People’s Republic of China; Zhou Enlai is named premier. The proclamation was the climax of years of battle between Mao’s communist forces and the regime of Nationalist Chinese leader Chiang Kai-Shek, who had been supported with money and arms from the American government. The loss of China, the largest nation in Asia, to communism was a severe blow to the United States, which was still reeling from the Soviet Union’s detonation of a nuclear device one month earlier.
State Department officials in President Harry S. Truman’s administration tried to prepare the American public for the worst when they released a “white paper” in August 1949. The report argued that Chiang’s regime was so corrupt, inefficient, and unpopular that no amount of U.S. aid could save it. Nevertheless, the communist victory in China brought forth a wave of criticism from Republicans who charged that the Truman administration lost China through gross mishandling of the situation. Other Republicans, notably Senator Joseph McCarthy, went further, claiming that the State Department had gone “soft” on communism; more recklessly, McCarthy suggested that there were procommunist sympathizers in the department.
The United States withheld recognition from the new communist government in China. The outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, during which communist Chinese and U.S. forces did battle, drove an even deeper wedge between the two nations. In the ensuing years, continued U.S. support of Chiang’s Republic of China, which had been established on the island of Taiwan, and the refusal to seat the People’s Republic of China at the United Nations made diplomatic relations impossible. President Richard Nixon broke the impasse with his stunning visit to communist China in February 1972. The United States extended formal diplomatic recognition in 1979.

Whole Awareness – Tibet Awareness of the Living Tibetan Spirits
Following the visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s visit to Ann Arbor, MI, USA in 2008, I coined the phrase ‘The Living Tibetan Spirits’. I am not a monk. I am speaking of my ‘spirituality’ in the context of hosting the ‘Spirits’ of young Tibetan soldiers who gave their precious lives while taking part in a military action in the Chittagong Hill Tracts that initiated the Liberation of Bangladesh during 1971. I claim that I am Tibetan for I host their ‘Spirits’ in my Consciousness.

The Dalai Lama is believed to be a manifestation of Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and the patron saint of Tibet. Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who have postponed their own nirvana and chosen to take rebirth in order to serve humanity.
Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, was born in 1935 in a small hamlet in northeastern Tibet. At the age of 2, the child who was named Lhamo Dhondup, was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso.
The 14th Dalai Lama will visit Ann Arbor for a series of talks in Crisler Arena at the University of Michigan on Saturday and Sunday April 19 and 20. His presentation of the University of Michigan’s annual Peter M. Wege Lecture on Sustainability is in celebration of Earth Day. The Wege Lecture is sponsored by the Center for Sustainable Systems at the School of Natural Resources and Environment. He will also present a two-day program with two sessions on April 19 and 20. The session will focus on “Engaging Wisdom and Compassion.” The teaching will be based on Acharya Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Ultimate Compassion and Je Tsong Khapa’s “In Praise of Dependent Origination.”
The Future of Tibet:
Whole Dude – Whole Spirits: The Vatican City State and Tibet. Just like the Pope who is the Head of the Vatican City State, H.H. Dalai Lama is the Temporal and Spiritual Leader of the Land of Tibet.
Vatican City is recognized as an ecclesiastical State. Sovereignty is exercised by the Pope upon his election as the Head of the Roman Catholic Church. The Pope has absolute executive, legislative and judicial powers within the Vatican City State. Similarly, the Dalai Lama is the spiritual and temporal Head of Tibet. The United States formulated an official policy about the Taiwan. With regards to Tibet, the United States has to first recognize the fact that the Tibet is under illegal Chinese occupation since 1951.

In a freewheeling interview with HT, the Dalai Lama speaks on wide-ranging spiritual and political issues, including what he thinks of India-China ties.
On the outer periphery of Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya in Bihar, a mere few hundred steps from the Bodhi tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment more than 2,000 years ago, the 14th Dalai Lama prays and meets his followers in a monastery behind an iron security curtain. Inside the temple, Trinley Thaye Dorje, the co-claimant along with Ogyen Trinley Dorje for the title of 17th Karmapa or head of Karma Kagyu school, is preaching to his followers from all over the world on Buddhism. The 17th Karmapa will become the key leader of Tibetan Buddhism in case the 14th Dalai Lama dies without reincarnation. The two religious leaders have no common ground because of the Dalai Lama, like China, recognizes Ogyen Dorje, who left India for the US in May 2017 and acquired citizenship of Dominica in March this year, as the real Karmapa.
On Sunday morning after he discreetly meets a group of monks that has made its way from Tibet Autonomous Region of China, the frail-looking but mentally alert 84-year-old spiritual leader of the Tibetan people talked exclusively to Shishir Gupta on wide-ranging political and spiritual issues. Edited excerpts:
How is your health these days?
Quite Good… Not very good …. for an 84-year-old person, quite good. I go for morning walks in Dharamshala also…. Here I take around 600 steps each morning in the monastery.
What was the reason for the indefinite postponement of the 13th Religious Conference of the Schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon Tradition (November 29-December 1, 2018) in Dharamshala? The conference was called to discuss the future of the institution of Dalai Lama.
One important lama (Kathok Getse Rinpoche, Head of Nyingma school) suddenly passed away. The conference had to be postponed as it was a period of mourning. It has nothing to do with 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje not getting a visa to visit India. I could not meet Thaye Dorje as he was not present when I went for pilgrimage to the Stupa.
Do you talk to both Ogyen and Thaye?
No, I have not yet met Thaye Dorje. Recently, the two met in France. A rightful beginning. Shamar Rinpoche, the nephew of 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje who took refuge in Sikkim after 1959 uprising, told me that there were indications that Thaye Dorje was the reincarnation of the previous Karmapa. In the meantime, Situ Rinpoche (the rival regent) appointed Ogyen Dorje as the Karmapa. I mentioned to Shamar that a high lama in the 19th century had five reincarnations. It is possible for 16th Karmapa to have few reincarnations but the holder of the seat should be one. This is like the two Panchen Lamas with Gedhun Choekyi Nyima (proclaimed by Dalai Lama as reincarnation on May 14, 1995) still alive (other being Gyaltsen Norbu who was appointed by the Chinese government). But then some group told me that I should not be talking about the possibility of two or three reincarnations. I said, OK, then I will keep quiet.
Then who will decide the rightful one heir to the seat?
Situ Rinpoche found a remarkable child (Ogyen Dorje) in Tibet. They came to see me and finalize that. Then I said yes to Ogyen as the reincarnation of the 16th Karmapa.
There are now two Panchen Lamas, two Karmapas, now the question comes to the tallest lama, the Dalai Lama. Have you initiated the process of your reincarnation because the Chinese government has already initiated the process?
No, no, no. That is not my business. I made it clear as early as in 1969 that it was up to the Tibetan people to decide whether the very institution of Dalai Lama should continue or not. They will decide. I have no concern. Since the 5th Dalai Lama, the (person holding the) title was the head of both temporal and spiritual affairs. Since 2001, I have proudly, voluntarily and happily given up the political role. We have already achieved elected political leadership (Centralized Tibetan Administration in Dharamshala) and they carry their full responsibility about our temporal affairs. I have totally retired since 2011. So, my thinking is more liberal than Chinese thinking which is more orthodox.
But how will people under stress in Tibet decide whether the institution of Dalai Lama should continue?
It should be decided in a free country, not in Tibet, where there is no freedom.
Have you initiated the process of dialogue on the Dalai Lama institution?
No. Formally, not yet. As the Dalai Lama institution is close to Mongolia, Mongolian people should be involved. I think there should be an international Buddhist conference involving Himalayan people and other Buddhist countries to decide on this. My main concern is that my body, speech, mind, and life should be useful to other people. So long as space remains, and suffering remains, I remain. My daily prayer is the source of my inner strength. This institution of Dalai Lama, I half-jokingly, half-seriously say, has lasted six to seven hundred years should cease with the 14th with grace. If the 15th Dalai Lama turns out to be naughty as the sixth, then the institution will cease in disgrace. The institution could voluntarily and democratically cease with the 14th Dalai Lama being quite famous (he laughs).
Has your middle way approach with China worked? Is it going to benefit Tibetans at all?
Oh yes. Like Germany and France after centuries of fighting came together after second World War to form European Union on shared common values, we also want to be part of the Peoples Republic of China provided the Tibetan culture, language, knowledge, and environment are protected. We get a more economic benefit for material development as China is rich economically but spiritually, we can help millions of Chinese Buddhists. This is mutually beneficial. Historically, Tibet has never been part of China and this even some Chinese historians admit. But past is past, we must live harmoniously and happily together rather than talk in terms of our nation and their nation. People ask me about the future of India and China relations. I say that neither India nor China has the capability to destroy each other. They must live happily side by side with minor irritants. Ultimately, Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai should be the principle. One must remember that there are around 400 million Chinese Buddhists who are inspired by Tibetan Buddhism, which in turn derives the majority of its strength from the Nalanda traditions.
There are media reports about Dr. Lobsang Sangay, President of Centralized Tibetan Administration (CTA) often disregarding the advice of the 14th Dalai Lama. How is your relationship with him?
No. As he is the head of elected political leadership, all decision-making is in his hand. I have never tried to control the political leadership. But in the meantime, he believes me and trusts me. There are some small rumors.
Will Ogyen Dorje return to India? We are told that the 17th Karmapa claimant is putting conditions to the Indian Government for his return?
That I don’t know. Most probably, I think he will return. I recently had discussions with the Ministry of External Affairs and told them that it is between the government of India and Ogyen to decide. I have no problems. It is his business. Not an important matter. There is no question of the Tibetan movement splintering in this context.
Are you looking forward to a pilgrimage to China?
Yes. Sure. As far (back) as 1954, I expressed my desire to the Chinese government to visit Wutai Shan, the home of 13th Dalai Lama. I was told that there was no road. I still have that desire, but it is up to the Chinese government. Once a high Tibetan lama wanted to go to Bodh Gaya, but his disciple said that the real Bodh Gaya is in your heart. Historically, the Wutai Shan is the seat of Deva of wisdom. Whether I am there physically or not, that wisdom from the Deva is already in my brain…. very sharp.
Is there any back channel open with the Chinese for resolving the Tibetan issue?
After we decided not to seek independence from China in 1974, Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping decided to have direct contact with us through my elder brother and the dialogue started in 1979. We sent four fact-finding missions to Tibet from 1979 but the dialogue ceased with the death of Deng in 1997. The official dialogue again started under President Jiang Zemin in 2002 but ceased in June 2010. Since then there is only an informal channel open with Chinese retired officials and private businessmen coming to see me from time to time. And they have some connection with the top leader. The Chinese are not in touch with the CTA. We never used the word Tibetan Government in exile. It is the Chinese who have used this and recognized them (he laughs).
Of late various heads of government refuse to meet you fearing the reaction of a now all-powerful China? What is your reaction to it?
I have nothing to ask from any head of state or country. I think they are afraid of the Chinese reaction. I met Barack Obama as former US President and Nobel laureate as also late President George Bush Senior. My visit to Sri Lanka was canceled at the last moment. I have not visited Thailand since it established diplomatic relations with China. I am never allowed into Buddhist countries because I am a Buddhist (he laughs) except Japan.
Any plans to visit the US and meet President Donald Trump?
No because of my physical condition. Normally, I used to go to the US annually for a medical check-up. One Indian doctor found traces of prostate cancer at the Mayo Clinic in USA. A team of 10 doctors discussed and ruled out surgery due to my age and side effects. Instead, I got radiation and have been completely cured of the disease. I have not traveled to the US in the past two years as it is too far, and I cannot handle too much physical exertion. So instead of going to the US for treatment, I go to a private hospital in Delhi.
US President Donald Trump has just signed “The Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act 2018”, which allows the Tibetans to return to their homeland or else the Chinese officials stopping them face sanctions. What is your reaction to this?
The present president of the greatest democratic nation is a bit unpredictable. So, I am in no position to comment on this as I do not know enough. But both the US houses have been strong supporters of Tibet over the decades and so has been the American government. American people love Tibet.
What is your reaction when you were asked to shift “Thank You India” event to mark 60 years of your exile in New Delhi to Dharamshala in April?
The Indian government tried to avoid any obstacle to their relations with China. That is understandable. That is OK. I was not unhappy. Not much. Nothing. Basically, our relations with India are centuries old since a Nalanda master introduced Buddha Dharma in Sanskrit tradition in the 8th century. My body is Tibetan but spiritually and mentally I am an Indian. Today 10,000 monks and now nuns are studying in Nalanda Buddhist traditions with total freedom and not in any restricted environment in Tibet.
Will you or your people ever be able to return to their homeland, Tibet?
India is the only place where modern education meets ancient knowledge, which is needed to tackle emotions. I am committed to reviewing the ancient Indian knowledge to tackle emotions. For these things’ freedom is very important. My return to Tibet is of no use if there is no freedom. I prefer this country and this freedom and then I am the longest guest of India.

Whole Humility – The celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success through Obedience and Humility.
Excerpt: Indians worship Lord Ganesha to seek success with a sense of humility. While exploring the thoughts, ideas, and mental concepts that originated in the Land of India, I seek a creative inspiration from Lord Rama who had inspired poet Bammera Potana.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility.
Lord Ganesha is unique among all deities. He has a human form with the head of an Asian elephant. Like the elephant which can grasp objects with its trunk, the entire realm of knowledge is in His grasp. In brilliance, He outshines Sun (Surya) and His radiant appearance can illuminate the entire universe. His body is so huge, it can accommodate the entire creation.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility.
Lord Ganesha is worshiped to remove obstacles. He removes obstacles when we contemplate actions that promote our well-being and brings us the goodwill of others and the actions should have no evil design or purpose. Lord Ganesha removes obstacles and paves the way for accomplishment and success in human endeavors. The notion that success is the result of divine sanction rather than being entirely due to personal effort, would let us reach our goals with a sense of modesty and humility.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: PRAYER TO LORD GANESHA – SUCCESS THROUGH OBEDIENCE AND HUMILITY.
The primary goals for man have been described as Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Dharma (right conduct)is not only a goal but also is the way. The other three goals should only be reached following the way of Dharma. To prepare for the journey on the path of Dharma, the traveler finds direction from a sense of humility. The radiant and immense personality of Ganesha endows us with humility. Having reached the goals of Artha (personal wealth, social status and position), and Kama (fulfillment of desires, progeny, and family), we inevitably encounter with the consequences of the powerful effects of time. The following verse from ‘ Bhaja Govindam’ sets us on a mission to seek the fourth goal of human existence.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility.
The fear that time would dissolve everything we possess would help us to overcome arrogance that may be associated with acquiring wealth, family and being youthful in age.
Sooner or later, we set our sights for the fourth goal and it will not be very easy to visualize the final destination. To achieve Moksha or Mukti, to reach the shore of liberation and conclude the journey across the ocean of Samsara, a person endowed with humility would be able to say the following prayer and get the needed help.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility. The flow of Time remains a Mystery. Man is conditioned to experience the aging process as if Time flows in a Straight Line like an Arrow.
Human existence is permanently bound to the illusion that shapes the sensory experience of Sunrise and Sunset. Sun shines with all His radiance all the time. The living entities exist in an illusion state which helps them to mark their existence by the alternating periods of light and darkness. We do not have the biological ability to detect the spin of the Earth and we have synchronized our existence with Sunrise and Sunset and this biological rhythm, known as Solar Rhythm, Circadian Rhythm, or Diurnal Rhythm, manages several of our biological functions.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: The Grandfather Clock – The division of the day into hours, minutes, and seconds helps us to recognize the passage of time. We have no sensory perception of Earth’s spin that gives us alternate periods of light and darkness.
It is not easy to comprehend the Ultimate Reality when the existence is synchronized with an illusion. Time’s Power of Dissolution would eventually compel us to investigate and to explore the concept of Absolute and Unchanging Reality. A prayer to Lord Ganesha would endow us with humility that we need to achieve the four primary goals and gives us success in life.
MENTORSHIP: Bammera Potana, the well-known Telugu poet while translating the epic poem of Bhagavatam from the Sanskrit language into Telugu stated that he would narrate the story of Bhagavatam using imagination and inspiration entirely provided by Lord Rama:
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility under the mentorship of poet Bammera Potana.Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility under the mentorship of poet Bammera Potana.
I would like to narrate my story, describe my ideas, and share my thoughts drawing inspiration from Lord Rama. My endeavor is to destroy the state of conditioned existence called ‘Bhava’, and get over the fear of ‘Samsara’, a journey of the embodied soul across uncharted sea which constantly evokes a sense of fear of the unknown.
Whole Dude – Whole Humility: A Prayer to Lord Ganesha for Success with Humility under the mentorship of Poet Bammera Potana.
Maharishi Valmiki, Adikavi, Prime Poet, had no formal education. He was totally inspired to narrate the Story of Lord Rama called RAMAYANA. Telugu Poet Bammera Potana who also had no formal education translated the epic poem known as Bhagavatam from Sanskrit into Telugu and displayed his immense powers of creativity. He not only dedicated his work to Lord Rama but also acknowledged that every word that he used was inspired by Lord Rama. For my humble endeavor, I seek the same inspiration.

Whole Connection – The name Anna+Purna represents the substance called Whole Foods that formulates the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet
Yes Indeed, Life is Complicated. The complexity of Life involves the complexity of Color and Coloration that shapes the World of Colors in which the man exists. I coined the phrase Whole Optics to make the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet.
SPIRITUALISM-THE SCIENCE OF OPTICS-SPIRITUAL LIGHT-SPIRITUAL OPTICS-GOD IS LIGHT:
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet: SPIRITUALISM, SPIRITUAL LIGHT AND SPIRITUAL OPTICS INVOLVES A SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF LIGHT OR OPTICS. GOD IS LIGHT OR GOD CREATED LIGHT, LIGHT IS ENERGY, LIGHT IS ENERGY OF LIFE, AND COLOR IS THE EVIDENCE FOR THE USE OF IMAGINATION TO FORMULATE SPIRITUAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ENERGY DEPENDENT LIFE AND ENERGY PROVIDING SUPREME BEING.
Optics is the scientific study of Light and the study of Light should be concerned with the genesis, nature, properties of Light and its purpose and role in the establishment of life and interactions among living things.
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet
The first recorded utterance of God in the Bible is, “LET THERE BE LIGHT.” (The Old Testament, The First Book of Moses, The Book of Genesis, Chapter 1, verse 3.) Light is the sign of divine operation in the world of chaos and darkness. Light brings order to the world. Without a source of Light, a primary source of external energy, Life is impossible on planet Earth. Further, it can be stated that Light is essential for Life; for the synchronization of life’s living functions, and to generate the experience of peace, harmony, and tranquility in the living condition, or state. Thus Light is associated with the experience called happiness.
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” (The New Testament Book James, 1: 17)
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet: The most important function of Light is not that of providing visual sensation. Light performs several non optical functions. Plants do not have the ability to see Light. But, plants have the ability to use light energy to perform biochemical reactions such as Photosynthesis which is a creative mechanism to trap light energy and convert it into chemical energy that living things can further use to perform a variety of their living functions. Hence Light is Divine Providence to transform non living matter into Living Organisms which can be identified by their color, and appearance.
WHAT IS COLOR AND WHAT IS COLORATION?
The term ‘color’ refers to the spectral qualities of emitted or reflected light. The term ‘coloration’ is a dynamic and complex characteristic that has captured human interest and attention for a long time. Human interest to coloration ranges from purely aesthetic to the rigidly pragmatic. Human interest in coloration led to biological studies by the Moravian abbot Gregor Johann Mendel (1822-1884), the botanist who studied inherited characteristics that established the science of Genetics, using visual clues from the coloration of plant flowers.
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet: Human interest in Coloration lead Gregor Mendel to conduct his famous studies that established the science called Genetics. He conducted experiments studying the white or pinkish flowers of Pea (Pisum sativum) plants.
BIOLOGICAL COLORATION:
Biological Coloration refers to the general appearance of an organism as determined by the quality and quantity of light that is reflected or emitted from its surface. This Coloration depends upon several factors:
1. The integrity and deployment of the structural units and features involved in the generation of color,
2. The color and distribution of the organism’s pigments, and the relative location of differently colored areas,
3. The shape, posture, position, and movement of the organism,
4. The quality and quantity of light striking the organism, including the seasonal light and temperature variations,
5. The psychological, behavioral, hormonal, and other physiological conditions associated with the use of color,
6. The visual capacity of the viewer.
THE OPTICAL AND NON OPTICAL FUNCTIONS OF COLORATION:
In plants and animals, coloration serves the function of communication. Plants do not have the ability called visual perception and yet they can transmit optical signals to attract the attention of pollinators to achieve reproductive success. Coloration such as ‘advertising coloration’ may emphasize optical signals and thereby enhance communication. Organisms use such communication to modify biotic interactions with other members of their biological community. The coloration may repel, or attract another organism. However, coloration could also be used to suppress optical signals or to specifically create incorrect signals and thereby reduce communication. Thus coloration contributes to adaptive interactions; and the deceptive coloration serves to lessen detrimental or maladaptive interaction with other organisms.

The light absorbed by Chlorophyll molecules is mainly in the red and blue-violet parts of the visible spectrum; the green portion is not absorbed but reflected, and thus Chlorophyll appears Green. The function of Light and Color is that of Creation of Life.
Coloration may affect an organism in ways other than its interaction with other organisms. Such non optical functions of coloration include physiological roles that depend on the molecular properties(e.g., strength and type of chemical bonds) of the chemicals that create color. Chlorophyll is a green pigment which has the exclusive ability of trapping solar energy. Other examples include, dark hair is mechanically stronger than light hair, and dark feathers resist abrasion better than light feathers. Coloration may play a role in organism’s energy budget because biochromes create color by the differential reflection and absorption of solar energy and can contribute to maintain thermal equilibrium. Color pigments like melanin work as a barrier against the harmful effects of the ultraviolet rays of Sunlight. It is the mechanism for the absorption of heat in cold environments by small cold-blooded animals. Pigments found in the eye limit the incidence of beams of light entering the eye by absorbing scattered light within the eyeball that allows greater visual acuity. Coloration or its pattern affects an animal’s own vision. Surfaces near the eye may be darkly colored to reduce reflectance that interferes with vision. Emitted light or Bioluminescence forms a portion of the coloration of some organisms. It serves as a light source in nocturnal species or in deep water marine animals such as Pinecones Fishes which have bright photophores or bioluminescent organs.
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet: Bioluminescence is a non optical function of Coloration as seen in this deep water fish Monocentris japonicus.
Coloration can result from accumulation of by-products of metabolic processes. The abnormal coloration called ‘jaundice’ or ‘icterus’ describes the greenish-yellow condition of the skin, urine, and eyeballs from increased amounts of bile pigments in the blood and it often indicates a diseased condition like hepatitis, a liver disorder. Similarly, Cyanosis describes a bluish or purple coloration of skin, lips, fingers, eyes, and other mucous membranes caused by lack of oxygen, the presence of desaturated hemoglobin, or abnormal hemoglobin in the blood.

SPIRITUAL LIGHT – SPIRITUAL OPTICS:
Whole Connection: The phrase Whole Optics makes the Connection between Food, People, and the Planet: This Vedic Hymn called Gayatri Maha Mantra describes the Spiritual Nature of Light and Spiritual Optics involves the illumination of human mind with true or real Knowledge.
Light is the source of Life. The establishment of Light on planet Earth is a creative process that uses light energy to recreate the spectral colors in the lives of individual organisms. The Biological Coloration is the most compelling evidence of the fact of creation. Animals, and plants do not have the ability to generate colors by simply depending upon spontaneous, random, and unguided mutations. Biological Coloration requires complex synchronization of morphological appearance, biotic interactions and behavior of living organisms that share a given environment. Light is the primary source of external energy to support the existence of all living things. The principles of Physical Optics, Geometrical Optics, Physiological Optics have to operate in conjunction with Spiritual Optics to generate the experience of peace, harmony, and tranquility that is fundamental to existence. Life is a manifestation of order to replace disorder, or confusion that could be caused if Light does not provide the stimulus called illumination that drives away darkness. It is no surprise to note that the major Biological Rhythm is called the Diurnal, or Day, or Solar Rhythm.

Whole Review: The philosophy of the Indian President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. What is Spirit?
Yes Indeed, Life is Complicated. The complexity of Life involves the fundamental nature of existence. Philosophers and Theologians have for a very long time are using terms such as Soul and Spirit without bothering to clarify the distinction between the Living and the Nonliving Matter and further, they leave things to the readers’ imagination without specifying the substance that constitutes the Spirit or Soul.
September 05, President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday is celebrated as Teachers’ Day in India. On Monday, September 05, 2022, I want to share my reflections on the philosophy of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and the history of Special Frontier Force, Establishment No. 22, Vikas Regiment: In India, school children celebrate Dr. Radhakrishnan’s birthday (05 September) as Teachers’ Day and every year that I spent as a student, I had a special reason to remember my family connection with his daughter.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888—1975)
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888 -1975). I met this President during his retired life at his residence in Mylapore,Madras (Chennai). I am related to this President on my maternal side. His daughter married my maternal grandfather’s (Dr. Kasturi. Narayana Murty, M.D. Professor of Medicine Madras Medical College, Madras) younger brother Kasturi. Seshagiri Rao who practiced Law. Mylapore is my birthplace and I grew up there. The reasons for strengthening these connections are as follows: 1. Dr. Sarvepalli studied in Madras Christian College and worked in Presidency College, Madras. My father also studied and worked in Presidency College. I am related and worked with people who studied in Madras Christian College. 2. My father taught Indian History and Radhakrishnan’sresidenceinMylapore son, Sarvepalli Gopal also taught Indian History. 3. Apart from my father, several of my relatives belong to Teaching Profession. 4. As a child, I was aware of Vice President and later President of India in the context of India’s Diplomacy during Cold War Era. 5. The 1962 War happened during his Presidency and Special Frontier Force was formulated during his Presidency. These events shaped my choice to serve in the Indian Army. I was granted Direct Permanent Regular Commission in Army Medical Corps in March 1973 while I served as Medical Officer at Doom Dooma, Assam with Special Frontier Force. Posted by Dr. Rudra Narasimham, Rebbapragada, B.Sc., M.B.B.S.
As an academic, philosopher, and statesman, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975) was one of the most recognized and influential Indian thinkers in academic circles in the 20th century. Throughout his life and extensive writing career, Radhakrishnan sought to define, defend, and promulgate his religion, a religion he variously identified as Hinduism, Vedanta, and the Religion of the Spirit. He sought to demonstrate that his Hinduism was both philosophically coherent and ethically viable. Radhakrishnan’s concern for experience and his extensive knowledge of the Western philosophical and literary traditions has earned him the reputation of being a bridge-builder between India and the West. He often appears to feel at home in the Indian as well as the Western philosophical contexts, and draws from both Western and Indian sources throughout his writing. Because of this, Radhakrishnan has been held up in academic circles as a representative of Hinduism to the West. His lengthy writing career and his many published works have been influential in shaping the West’s understanding of Hinduism, India, and the East.In my analysis, his philosophical thought did not embrace the progress made by Science in the understanding of life and matter.
Whole Review: The philosophy of the Indian President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. What is Spirit? This photo image shows Vice President Radhakrishnan at his New Delhi residence during 1960. I met President Radhakrishnan at his Mylapore, Madras (Chennai) residence after completion of his term of presidency in 1967. He prefers to read while relaxing in his bed. This is the image, I still carry in my memory.
Radhakrishnan located his metaphysics within the Advaita (non-dual) Vedanta tradition (sampradaya). And like other Vedantins before him, Radhakrishnan wrote commentaries on the Prasthanatraya (that is, main primary texts of Vedanta ): the Upanishads (1953),Brahma Sutra (1959), and the Bhagavadgita (1948).
As an Advaitin, Radhakrishnan embraced a metaphysical idealism. But Radhakrishnan’s idealism was such that it recognized the reality and diversity of the world of experience (Prakrit) while at the same time preserving the notion of a wholly transcendent Absolute (Brahman), an Absolute that is identical to the self (Atman). While the world of experience and of everyday things is certainly not ultimate reality as it is subject to change and is characterized by finitude and multiplicity, it nonetheless has its origin and support in the Absolute (Brahman) which is free from all limits, diversity, and distinctions (Nirguṇa). Brahman is the source of the world and its manifestations, but these modes do not affect the integrity of Brahman.
In this vein, Radhakrishnan did not merely reiterate the metaphysics of Shankara (8th century C.E.), arguably Advaita Vedanta’s most prominent and enduring figure, but sought to reinterpret Advaita for present needs. In particular, Radhakrishnan reinterpreted what he saw as Shankara’s understanding of Maya strictly as illusion. For Radhakrishnan, Maya ought not to be understood to imply a strict objective idealism, one in which the world is taken to be inherently disconnected from Brahman, but rather Maya indicates, among other things, a subjective misconception of the world as ultimately real. [See Donald Bauer, Maya in Radhakrishnan’s Thought: Six Meanings Other Than Illusion (1985) for a full treatment of this issue.]
The Material Basis of Spirituality Science. The Truth about Soul or Spirit. Adi Shankara (c. 788 A.D. – c. 820 A.D.), the founder of the Non-Dualist or ADVAITA School of Indian Philosophy has shared his ideas about human soul or spirit which is called ATMA or ATMAN in the Indian Sanskrit language. What is the Truth about Soul or Spirit?
We need a methodology to study philosophy and to understand philosophical statements. Logical Positivism, also known as Scientific Empiricism aims to clarify concepts in both everyday and scientific language. It describes analysis of language as the function of philosophy. This analysis of language and of concepts is important to understand questions of belief and ideology which affect what we think we ought to do individually and socially. I would use this method of ‘Applied Philosophy’ to analyze the philosophical doctrine of ‘Advaita’ and to study the views and philosophy of Adi Shankara and his efforts to interpret the true or real identity.
In the study of a man, the know-er and the known are one. The man is the observer and the observed fact is that of the man’s nature. If a man has to know the truth about his true or real self, the man has to understand the truth and reliability of his own cognitive powers. If the Subject called man is identified as an Object called Soul, or Spirit, the Truth or Reality of Soul, or Spirit involves a structural/functional relationship between the Subject and its Object.
September 05. My Musings on the Philosophy of President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. MAN’S EXISTENCE IS SHAPED BY FLAT EARTH WITH ARCHED DOME EXPERIENCE.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s metaphysics fails to account for the existence of the Spirit in the physical, material, terrestrial, or immanent realm called Earth. Just like Shankara, Radhakrishnan claims that the Absolute (Brahman) is identical to the true or real Self (Atman) without clarifying the structural and the functional relationship between the human body and its indwelling Soul, Spirit, or Atman.
Whole Review: The philosophy of the Indian President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. What is Spirit? The Discovery of India – The Indian Traditional Greeting known as ‘NAMASKAR’ represents the essence of Indian Culture.
In any case, Hinduism cannot be defined as the Religion of the Spirit. In my experience, most Hindus worship Mother Earth as the physical manifestation of the Absolute (Brahman). In my analysis, the Spirituality of the Hindu experience always includes a Material Basis to account for the relationship between the man, the Earth, and God.
What is Matter? and What is Spirit? If materialism is about the influence of material wealth, I would like to use the Power/Force/Energy called Money to talk about Life and Death. The Laws of Conservation are applicable to both the living, and the non-living matter. Hence, it can be stated that “Life can neither be created nor destroyed.” If any person can refute my claim using valid, scientific information, I would give the person a US $1,000 bill as a reward

Whole Foods, Whole People, and Whole Planet are connected by a material substance called Protoplasm or Cytoplasm, a divine plan to provide nourishment to Life.
The Rudolf and Rudi Connection can be best described as the concept of Whole Spirituality, the three dimensional spiritual relationship between the multicellular human organism, food, and the Divine Providence.

Spiritualism – The Cell Theory of Spirituality:
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. The Discovery of Whole Spirituality.
In Biology, cell is the basic or fundamental unit of structure, function, and organization in all living things or it is the building block of life. Let me begin with my respectful tribute to some of the people who contributed to ‘The Cell Theory’, one of the foundations of Biological Sciences. Cells were first observed in the 17th century shortly after the discovery of the microscope. Robert Hooke, british curator of instruments at The Royal Society of London, during 1665 coined the word cell. Dutch microscopist Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) made over 247 microscopes and examined microorganisms and tissue samples. He gave the first complete descriptions of bacteria, protozoa (which he called animalcules), spermatozoa, and striped muscle. He also studied capillary circulation and observed Red Blood Cells.

Dutch microscopist Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek (1668-80) studied capillary circulation and observed Red Blood Cells.
Improvements in microscopy during early 19th century permitted closer observation and the significance of cells had received better understanding. Matthias Jakob Schleiden (1838), German botanist, Theodor Schwann (1839), German physiologist, and Rudolf Virchow (1855), German pathologist, and others made important contributions to the Cell Theory that describes cell as the building block of all Life.
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Schleiden, Professor of Botany, The University of Jena studied plant structure under the microscope, published “Contibutions to Phytogenesis” (1838). He had also published the two-volume text of ‘Principles of Scientific Botany’.Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Schwann founder of modern Histology extended the Cell Theory of Plants to animals in his ‘Microscopic Researches into Accordance in the Structure and Growth of Animals and Plants (1839).Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Schwann discovered Myelin Sheath covering peripheral axons, now termed Schwann Cells. He coined the term ‘Metabolism’ for the chemical changes that take place in living tissues.Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Rudolf Virchow, German pathologist in 1855 coined the biological dictum “OMNIS CELLULA E CELLULA” – All living cells arise only from pre-existing living cells.
The Cell is the smallest unit in the living organism that is capable of carrying on the essential life processes of sustaining metabolism for producing energy and reproducing. Many simple, small, single-celled organisms like Protozoa perform all life functions. In higher, complex, bigger, multicellular organisms, groups of cells are structurally and functionally differentiated into specialized tissues and organ systems. Thus, the Cell Theory includes the following foundational principles of the Biological Sciences:
1. All living things are made up of cells. Cell is the most elementary or basic unit of Life.
2. Cell is a fundamental unit of structure, function, and organization in all living things including plants and animals.
3. Cells only rise from division of previously existing cells.
4. All cells are similar in composition, form, and function. All cells are basically the same in chemical composition (in spite of variations) in organisms of similar species. For example, all the solid tissues in the human body can be shown to consist largely of similar cells; differing it is true, but that are essentially similar to an Ovum.
5. The cells exhibit functional autonomy. The activity of an organism depends on the total activity of ‘INDEPENDENT’ cells.
6. Energy flow (metabolism and biochemistry) occurs within cells.
7. Cells contain hereditary, biological information (DNA) which is passed from cell to cell during cell division.

The Cell Theory of Spirituality:
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. The Discovery of Whole Spirituality at Whole Foods, Ann Arbor.
The basic or fundamental unit of life in the human organism is derived from the fertilized egg cell that eventually develops into a complete organism. The most significant feature of similarity between the cells of the human body is the presence of a soft, gelatinous, semi-fluid, granular material inside the cell. This substance known as Protoplasm or Cytoplasm, or Cytosol is similar to the ground substance found in the Ovum or the Egg Cell.
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Human Ovum Structure – The Cell Theory of Spirituality is based upon the Substance, Structure, Form, Organization, Function, Action and Interactions of this Single Fertilized Egg Cell that eventually develops into a complete human organism.
This viscous, translucent, colloidal substance is enclosed in a membrane called Cell Membrane, Plasma Membrane or Biological Membrane. A small spherical body called nucleus is embedded in the Protoplasm of the cell. The three essential features of any living cell in the human body are that of the presence of protoplasm, the nucleus, and the cell membrane.
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider.
Protoplasm – The Ground Substance of Spiritualism and Spirituality:
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to Describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider.
I seek the existence of Soul or Spirit in a substance that is basic to life activities, and in a material that is responsible for all living processes. I, therefore, propose that the understanding of the true or real nature of this ground substance of all living matter will help man to discover peace, harmony, and tranquility in all of his internal and external relationships while man exists in a physical environment as a member of a social group, social community, and Society. In this blog post, I would like to pay my respectful tribute to Jan Evangelista Purkinje and Hugo Von Mohl for their great contribution to the scientific understanding of the living substance, living material, and living matter.
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Jan Evangelista Purkyne (Czech name), Jan Evangelista Purkinje (German name)also known as Johannes Evangelist Purkinje, b. December 17, 1787, d. July 28, 1869. The pioneer Czech experimental Physiologist whose investigations in the fields of Histology, Embryology, and Pharmacology helped create a modern understanding of the eye and vision, brain and heart function, mammalian reproduction, and the composition of cells.
Purkinje conducted his research on human vision at the University of Prague and later on, he served there as a Professor of Physiology (1850-69). He went to Germany and was appointed the Chair of Physiology and Pathology (1823-50) at the University of Breslau, Prussia. There Purkinje created the world’s first independent Department of Physiology (1839) and the first Physiological Laboratory (Physiological Institute, 1842). He is best known for his discovery of large nerve cells with many branching extensions found in the cortex of Cerebellum of the brain (Purkinje Cells, 1837). He discovered the fibrous tissue that conducts electrical impulses from the ‘pacemaker’ called Atrioventricular node or A-V node along the inside walls of the ventricles to all parts of the heart to help in Cardiac contractile function (Purkinje Fibers, 1839). In 1835, he invented and introduced the scientific term ‘Protoplasm’ to describe the ground substance found inside young animal embryo cells. He discovered the sweat glands of the skin (1833); he discovered the nine configuration groups of Fingerprints used in biometric identification of man (1823); he described the germinal vesicle or nucleus of the unripe ovum that now bears his name (1825), and he noted the protein digesting power of pancreatic extracts (1836).
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. Hugo Von Mohl, b. April 08, 1805, d. April 01, 1872, German Botanist noted for his research on the anatomy and physiology of plant cells.
Hugo Von Mohl named the granular, colloidal material that made up the main substance of the plant cell as “Protoplasm” in 1846. Purkinje invented the word, but Hugo gave more clarity, understanding, and knowing the nature of this ground substance. He viewed cell as an “elementary organ” and in Physiology he explained Protoplasm as an organ of Motion or Movement, Nutrition, and Reproduction. It is the preliminary material in cellular generation. He was the first to propose that new cells are formed by division of preexisting cells and he had observed this process of Cell Division in the algal cells of Conferva glomerata. His observations are very important to understand the Cell Theory that explains cells as the basic building blocks of Life. He was the first to investigate the phenomenon of the stomatal openings in leaves.
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. The Ground Substance of Spiritualism and Spirituality. The vital characteristics, the animating principles of Protoplasm could be known by observing Amoeba proteus. The Living Substance works as an organ of Motion or Movement, as an organ of Nutrition, and as an organ of Reproduction to generate new cells which have a life span of their own. In these physiological functions, I describe the characteristics such as Cognition, Consciousness, Memory, and Intelligence which have a Spiritual role as they bring functional unity and harmony in the interactions between different parts of the same individual organism while it exists in an environment as a member of a biological community.
Protoplasm is a complex, viscous, translucent solution of such materials as salts and simple sugars with other molecules, mostly proteins and fats, in a colloidal state, that is dispersed but not dissolved in one another. Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen constitute more than 90 percent of Protoplasm.
God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.
It exhibits properties such as Protoplasmic Streaming or Cytoplasmic Streaming or Motion that is called “Amoeboid Movement.” It has the intrinsic power to change its shape and position.
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. The importance of Protoplasmic or Cytoplasmic Streaming is displayed in the transportation of Neuropeptides from the sites of their Synthesis to the sites of their action at the axon terminal of the Nerve Cells.
Protoplasm has the power of Nutrition by which it can attract and obtain the materials necessary for its growth and maintenance from surrounding matter/environment.
God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.
The living functions such as Nutrition, Cellular Respiration, and Reproduction performed by Cytoplasm involve acquiring, processing, retaining, and using information to perform tasks in a sequential manner for a predetermined purpose and hence describe Consciousness, Memory, and Intelligence.
God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality. Cellular respiration is a set of metabolic reactions and processes that take place in the cells of organisms to convert biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then release waste products.God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.
The terms Soul and Spirit belong to the materialistic realm where the Physical Reality of man’s biological existence is established. I have not yet discovered any good reason to use the terms Soul and Spirit as a metaphysical or transcendental Reality.
The Inheritance of Cytoplasmic Membrane or Cell or Plasma Membrane:
God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality. Living cells have a corporeal substance called Protoplasm that has the ability of Spiritual Biotic Interactions. The Biological Membrane or Cell Membrane separates the cell from its environment and other living cells present in the environment. Cells use unique proteins, biological molecules and receptor sites to recognize the other living cells and use chemical signals to facilitate the interactions. Such interactions between living cells have the characteristics of consciousness or awareness.God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality. Cytoplasmic Membrane or Cell Membrane is an integral feature of Cytoplasm, a limiting membrane devised by Cytoplasm to create boundaries to perform its numerous living functions.
The Functions of Cytoplasmic Membrane or Cell Membrane or Biological Membrane:
1. Protection: It protects the cell from its surroundings or extracellular environment. Plant cell possess wall over the plasma membrane for extra protection and support.
2. Holding cell contents: Plasma membranes hold the semi fluid protoplasmic contents of the cell intact; thus keeping the individuality of the cell.
3. Selective Permeability: Cell membrane allows only selected or specific substances to enter into the cell and are impermeable to others.
Gases like O2 and CO2 can diffuse rapidly in solution through membranes.
Small compounds like H2O and methane can easily pass through where as sugars, amino acids and charged ions are transported with the help of transport proteins.
The size of the molecules which can pass through the plasma membrane is 1-15 A0. This property is responsible for keeping a cell ‘as a cell’, an individual unit.
4. Shape: It maintains form and shape of the cell. It serves as site of anchorage or attachment of the cytoskeleton; thus providing shape to the cell (especially in animal cells without cell wall).
5. Organelles: Cell membrane delimits or covers all sub-cellular structures or organelles like nucleus, mitochondria, plastids, Golgi apparatus, endoplasmic reticulum, microbodies etc. thus protecting them form the surroundings and also helps in maintaining a constant internal environment.
6. Compartmentalization: Cell membrane separate the cells from their external environment and cell organelle from cytosol. It help the cells and their organelles to have their own microenvironments, structural and functional individuality.
7. Cell Recognition: With the help of glycolipids and glycoproteins on its surface, cell membranes are able to differentiate similar cells from dissimilar ones, foreign substances and cells own materials. Cell recognition is useful for tissue formation and defence against microbes.
8. Antigens: Cell membranes possess antigens which determine blood grouping, immune response, acceptance or rejection of a transplant (graft rejection by MHC’s on plasma membrane).
9. Microvilli: They are microscopic finger like projections of plasma membrane present on some cells like intestinal epithelial cells, which are involved in a wide variety of functions, including increasing surface area for absorption, secretion, cellular adhesion etc.
10. Sheaths of cilia and flagella: Cilia and flagella are projections from the cell; made up of microtubules which are covered by an extension of the plasma membrane.
11. Cytoplasmic bridges in plasmodesmata and gap junctions: Plasmodesmata in plant cells and gap junctions in animal cells; meant for intercellular transport and communication, form cytoplasmic bridges between adjacent cells through plasma membrane.
12. Endocytosis and Exocytosis: Bulk intake of materials or endocytosis occurs through development of membrane vesicles or invagination and engulfing by plasma membrane.
Exocytosis: It is reverse of endocytosis that provides for releasing waste products and secretory materials ot of the cells with the help of plasma membrane.
13. Impulse transmission in neurons: The transmission of a nerve impulse along a neuron from one end to the other occurs as a result of electrical changes across the plasma membrane of the neuron
14. Cell metabolism: Cell membranes control cell metabolism through selective permeability and retentivity of substances in a cell.
15. Electron transport chain in bacteria: In bacteria; Electron transport chain is located in cell membrane.
16. Osmosis through cell membrane: It is movement of solvent molecules (generally water) from the region of less concentrated solution to the region of high concentrated solution through a semi permeable membrane. Here the semi permeable membrane that helps in osmosis is the cell membrane. Eg: Root cells take up water from the soil by osmosis
17. Carrier proteins for active transport: They occur in the cell membranes and control active transport of substances. Example, GLUT1 is a named carrier protein found in almost all animal cell membranes that transports glucose across the bilayer or plasma membrane.
18. Plasma Membrane enzymes: Many enzymes are present on the plasma membrane with wide variety of catalytic activity. Example: Red blood cell plasma membranes contain a number of enzymes such as ATPases, anion transport protein, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, protein kinases, adenylate cyclase, acetylcholinesterase.
19. Cell Membrane Receptors: Receptor on the plasma membrane performs signal transduction, converting an extracellular signal into an intra-cellular signal. Membrane possess receptors for hormones, neurotransmitters, antibodies and several other biochemicals.
20. Plasma membrane assisted Cell movements: Undulation and pseudopodia are cell membrane phenomenon involved in cell movement. Amoeba, macrophages and WBCs move with the helps of temporary organelles like pseudopodia. Pseudopods are temporary cytoplasmic projections of the cell membrane in certain unicellular protists such as Amoeba. Some mammalian cells such as fibroblasts can move over a solid surface by wave like undulations of the plasma membrane.

In these physiological functions, I describe the characteristics such as Cognition, Consciousness, Memory, and Intelligence as spiritual attributes of Life as they bring functional unity and harmony in the interactions between different parts of the same individual organism while it exists in an environment as a member of a biological community.

The Spirituality of Substance, Function, Organization, Action, and Interactions:
Rudolf is Reborn as Rudi to describe the Spiritual Connection between the Cell and its Energy Provider. The Discovery of Whole Spirituality at Whole Foods, Ann Arbor.
To establish the biological existence of the human organism, I add the concept of Spiritualism and Spirituality to the Cell Theory.
God created Cytoplasm or Protoplasm as the Ground Substance of Spirituality.
The Single Fertilized Egg Cell has ground substance that is of Spiritual nature and the Spiritualism and Spirituality consists of the following functional, and organizational characteristics:
1. The Cell is Conscious of its own existence and knows its internal condition and knows it external environment.
2. The Cell is intelligent and it has the cognitive abilities like perception and memory to acquire information, to retain information, to recall information, and to use information in the performance of its complex tasks in a sequential manner.
3. The Cell has the ability to show characteristics such as mutual cooperation, mutual tolerance, and display functional subordination and subservience while being independent.
4. The Cell grows, divides, and develops into a complete organism while it acquires substances and energy from an external environment. The power of Protoplasm/Cytoplasm to attract matter found in its external environment is called Nutrition. The Cell continuously transforms matter to build matter of its own kind for its own benefit to sustain its existence with its own identity and individuality. The Organism represents a social group or a biological community of Cells. The Spiritual nature of Protoplasm/Cytoplasm brings this functional harmony and unity in the Social Group or Biotic Community of Cells by bringing together its Essence and Existence.
5. The Cell Theory is incomplete for it does not describe the conditioned nature of the Cell’s existence. The Cell represents a Living System that is thermodynamically unstable. It requires a constant supply of matter and energy from its external environment to sustain its living functions. The concept of Whole Spirituality formulates the connection between the Cell and its external source of matter and energy.
The Rudolf and Rudi Connection. The Discovery of Whole Spirituality. The Bone Marrow smear from a patient of Leukemia or Blood Cancer helps to illustrate the nature of Biotic Interactions in the Social Group or Biotic Community that represents the singularity called man. The true or real man can only be discovered by the microscopic study of the Cells that constitute the Organism.
The theoretical claims about Spirit and Soul, the religious and philosophical doctrines of Spiritualism and Spirituality must be verified using the Cell Theory that defines the human organism. To describe Soul or Spirit as nonmaterial or immaterial Self will not help man to know the real or true man.
THE LIVING CELL IS THERMODYNAMICALLY UNSTABLE. TO EXIST, THE LIVING CELL NEEDS CONTINUOUS SUPPLY OF MATTER AND ENERGY FROM ITS EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT. PROTOPLASM OR CYTOPLASM USES THE POWER OF NUTRITION TO ACQUIRE MATTER AND ENERGY FROM ITS EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT AND ENABLES THE LIVING CELL TO PERFORM A VARIETY OF LIVING FUNCTIONS CALLED METABOLISM.
Whole Foods, Whole People, and Whole Planet come together in a Wholesome Relationship as God is the Energy Provider, the Original Source of Matter and Energy for Life.

Yes indeed, Life is Complicated. The Complexities of Life involve the man-made or human laws that control, regulate, govern, and operate man’s Work Life without any concern for the scientific basis for the man’s existence in the natural world.
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is flawed as all of its assumptions about Life and Living Things are false.
All living things are complex. All living things are intelligent. All living things process and use very complex information to perform the basic living functions such as the Metabolism to survive in nature.
In my analysis, FLSA is fundamentally flawed for it divides workers into categories such as “White Collar” and “Blue Collar” without understanding the basis for the man’s existence in the natural world.
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was signed into law on June 25, 1938 claiming that it will provide protection to people working in the US.
Knowledge Work vs Manual Work. In my analysis, FLSA is fundamentally flawed for it divides workers into categories such as “White Collar” and “Blue Collar” without understanding the basis for the man’s existence in the natural world.

Knowledge Work vs Manual Work. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is fundamentally flawed.
There can be no distinction such as the Skilled and Unskilled among the workers as Life can only be defined as ‘Knowledge in Action’. All human beings process similar kind of information and use chemical energy to perform similar kinds of sequential, guided, purposeful and goal-oriented actions described as ‘Metabolism’. In fact, no man can perform Unskilled work.
In my analysis, FLSA is fundamentally flawed for it divides workers into categories such as “White Collar” and “Blue Collar” without understanding the basis for the man’s existence in the natural world.
I ask the US Congress and The US Department of Labor to discard the flawed Act and dump into the dustbin to put an end to the division of workers into White and Blue Collar. As such, each employee and his or her employer must make the determination about compensation or remuneration and agree upon the terms for wages and benefits for performing any kind of labor.
In my analysis, FLSA is fundamentally flawed for it divides workers into categories such as “White Collar” and “Blue Collar” without understanding the basis for the man’s existence in the natural world. In my analysis, FLSA is fundamentally flawed for it divides workers into categories such as “White Collar” and “Blue Collar” without understanding the basis for the man’s existence in the natural world.
In my view, the Natural Sciences and the Medical Science in particular does not validate the concept of the White-Collar or the Managerial Class as no human being performs executive, administrative, or professional service while operating the metabolic functions of human bodies of their own. No man lives as the boss, the manager, the administrator, the executive officer, the ruler, the governor, or the controller of his own body.
The Hourly vs the Salaried Employees. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is fundamentally flawed.
I ask my readers to reject the assumptions and the criteria described by the Fair Labor Standards Act as they contribute to Unequal Employment Opportunities at the American Workplace. As such the Fair Labor Standards Act is not consistent with the Natural Law principle of Equality that formulates the Supreme Law of this Land.
In my analysis, FLSA is fundamentally flawed for it divides workers into categories such as “White Collar” and “Blue Collar” without understanding the basis for the man’s existence in the natural world.

Fact Sheet #17S: Higher Education Institutions and Overtime Pay Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
The FLSA requires that a non-exempt employee receive minimum wages for his or her work, as well as overtime wages whenever he or she works more than 40 hours in a workweek. Section 13(a)(1) of the FLSA, however, exempts certain employees who perform bona fide executive, administrative, professional, and outside sales duties from minimum wage and overtime requirements. These exemptions are often called the “white-collar” exemptions. This fact sheet discusses the applicability of these exemptions to jobs that are common in higher education institutions.
The Exempt vs the Non-Exempt Employees. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is fundamentally flawed.
General Requirements for Exemptions
To qualify for a white collar exemption, an employee must generally satisfy three tests:
1. The employee must be paid on a salary basis that is not subject to reduction based on the quality or quantity of work (the “salary basis test”), rather than, for example, on an hourly basis;
2. The employee must receive a salary at a rate not less than $455* per week (the “salary level test”); and
3. The employee’s primary duty must involve the kind of work associated with the exempt status sought, such as executive, administrative, or professional work (the “duties test”).
A teacher is exempt if his or her primary duty is teaching, tutoring, instructing, or lecturing to impart knowledge, and if he or she is performing that duty as an employee of an educational establishment. See 29 C.F.R. § 541.303. Educational establishments include elementary school systems, secondary school systems, institutions of higher education, and other educational institutions. See 29 C.F.R. § 541.204(b). If a bona fide teacher meets this duty requirement, the salary level and salary basis tests do not apply. See 29 C.F.R. §§ 541.303(d), 541.600(e). Given these standards, professors, instructors, and adjunct professors typically qualify for this exemption.
A faculty member who teaches online or remotely also may qualify for this exemption. The regulations do not restrict where bona fide teaching may take place, to whom the knowledge can be imparted, or how many hours a teacher must work per week to qualify for the exemption. The exemption would therefore ordinarily apply, for example, to a part-time faculty member of an educational establishment whose primary duty is to provide instruction through online courses to remote non-credit learners. The exemption could likewise apply, for example, to an agricultural extension agent who is employed by an educational establishment to travel and provide instruction to farmers, if the agent’s primary duty is teaching, instructing, or lecturing to impart knowledge. To determine a teacher’s primary duty, the relevant inquiry in all cases is the teacher’s actual job duties. Job titles or full/part-time status alone do not determine exempt status.
A teacher does not become non-exempt merely because he or she spends a considerable amount of time in extracurricular activities (such as coaching athletic teams or supervising student clubs), provided the teacher’s primary duty is teaching.
Coaches
Athletic coaches employed by higher education institutions may qualify for the teacher exemption. After all, teaching may include instructing student-athletes in how to perform their sport. But a coach will not qualify for the exemption if his or her primary duties are recruiting students to play sports or visiting high schools and athletic camps to conduct student interviews. The amount of time the coach spends instructing student-athletes in a team sport is relevant, but not the exclusive factor, in determining the coach’s exempt status.
Professional Employees
The FLSA provides for several kinds of exempt professional employees—such as learned professionals, creative professionals, teachers, and employees practicing law or medicine. In higher education, employees eligible for the professional exemption are often either teachers (as discussed above) or learned professionals (as described below). To qualify as a learned professional, the employee must satisfy three requirements:
1. The employee’s primary duty must be the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge;
2. The advanced knowledge must be in a field of science or learning; and
3. The advanced knowledge must be customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction.
See 29 C.F.R. § 541.301. Unless the employee is a teacher or practicing law or medicine, he or she must also satisfy the above-referenced salary basis and salary level tests to be an exempt professional.
In higher education, examples of exempt non-teacher learned professionals generally include certified public accountants, psychologists, certified athletic trainers, and librarians. Postdoctoral fellows, who conduct research at a higher education institution after completing their doctoral studies, likewise generally meet the duties requirements of the learned professional exemption, and they may additionally qualify for the teacher exemption if teaching is their primary duty. Of course, an employee’s qualification for the exemption depends on his or her actual job duties and education. Job titles alone are not sufficient for determining whether an employee satisfies the duties test.
Administrative Employees
Various employees at higher educational institutions may qualify as exempt administrative employees. The administrative exemption applies when the following requirements are met:
1. The employee’s compensation must satisfy the above-referenced salary basis and salary level tests;
2. The employee’s primary duty must be the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the employer or the employer’s customers; and
3. The employee’s primary duty must include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
See 29 C.F.R. § 541.200. Such administrative employees in higher education might include, for example, admissions counselors or student financial aid officers. An employee’s qualification for the exemption depends on his or her actual job duties; job titles alone are not sufficient for determining whether an employee satisfies the duties test.
Notably, there are specific regulatory provisions for certain administrative employees—known as “academic administrative employees”—whose primary duty is performing administrative functions directly related to academic instruction or training in an educational establishment. To be exempt as an academic administrative professional:
1. The employee must satisfy the above-referenced salary basis and salary level tests or receive a salary of at least the entrance salary for teachers in the same educational establishment; and
2. The employee’s primary duty must be to perform administrative functions directly related to academic instruction or training in an educational establishment.
See 29 C.F.R. § 541.204. Employees who work in higher education but whose work does not relate to the educational field (such as work in general business operations) do not qualify as exempt academic administrative employees. See id.
In higher education institutions, exempt academic administrative personnel generally include department heads, intervention specialists who are available to respond to student academic issues, and other employees with similar responsibilities. Exempt administrative personnel would likewise generally include academic counselors who administer school testing programs, assist students with academic problems, and advise students concerning degree requirements. Again, whether an employee satisfies the duties test for these exemptions depends on the employee’s actual job duties, not just the employee’s job title.
Executive Employees
To qualify for the executive exemption, an employee must satisfy the following tests:
1. The employee must receive compensation that satisfies the above-referenced salary basis and salary level tests;
2. The employee’s primary duty must be managing the enterprise or a customarily recognized department or subdivision thereof;
3. The employee must customarily and regularly direct the work of at least two or more other full-time employees or their equivalent (for example, one full-time and two half-time employees); and
4. The employee must have the authority to hire or fire other employees, or in the alternative, the employee’s suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees must be given particular weight.
See 29 C.F.R. § 541.100. Various positions in higher education institutions might qualify for the executive exemption, including deans, department heads, directors, and any other manager or supervisor whose job duties and compensation satisfy the above criteria.
Student-Employees
As a general matter, most students who work for their college or university are hourly non-exempt workers and do not work more than 40 hours per week. The following, however, are examples of students who often receive a salary or other non-hourly compensation:
· Graduate Teaching Assistants. Graduate teaching assistants whose primary duty is teaching are exempt. Because they qualify for the teacher exemption, they are not subject to the salary basis and salary level tests.
· Research Assistants. Generally, an educational relationship exists when a graduate or undergraduate student performs research under a faculty member’s supervision while obtaining a degree. Under these circumstances, the Department would not assert that an employment relationship exists with either the school or any grantor funding the student’s research. This is true even though the student may receive a stipend for performing the research.
· Student Residential Assistants. Students enrolled in bona fide educational programs who are residential assistants and receive reduced room or board charges or tuition credits are not generally considered employees under the FLSA. They therefore are not entitled to minimum wages and overtime under the FLSA.
An employment relationship will generally exist when a student receives compensation and his or her duties are not part of an overall education program. For example, students who work at food service counters, sell programs or usher at events, or wash dishes in dining halls and anticipate some compensation (for example, money or meals) are generally considered employees entitled to minimum wage and overtime compensation.
Compensatory Time at Public Universities
Public universities or colleges that qualify as a “public agency” under the FLSA may compensate non-exempt employees with compensatory time off (or “comp time”) in lieu of overtime pay. A college or university is a public agency under the FLSA if it is a political subdivision of a State. When determining whether a college or university is a “political subdivision,” the Department considers whether (1) the State directly created the entity, or (2) individuals administering the entity are responsible to public officials or the general electorate.
If the public university or college qualifies as a public agency, non-exempt employees generally may not accrue more than 240 hours of comp time. However, employees engaged to work in a public safety activity, an emergency response activity, or a seasonal activity may accrue as much as 480 hours of comp time. See 29 U.S.C. 207(o)(3)(A). Private higher education institutions may not pay employees comp time in lieu of overtime pay.

Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: MAN, THE ENTIRE HUMAN ORGANISM IS DERIVED FROM A SINGLE FERTILIZED EGG CELL. From the instant called conception, human organism grows and develops continuously to enter adulthood at age 20.
Yes indeed, Life is Complicated. The complexity of Life involves the merciless living process called the aging combined with the uncertain and often unpredictable phenomenon called life span while God may have sanctioned to man a life span of One Hundred Twenty Years.
The concept of Life-Span implies that there is an Individual whose existence has a definite beginning and end. The human body develops from a Single, fertilized Egg Cell called Zygote which is produced by the union of a male sex cell called sperm and a female sex cell called egg. Human life includes clearly distinguishable stages such as infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. From the instant called conception, human organism grows and develops continuously to enter adulthood at age 20. At about the age of 25, the progressive developmental changes are completed. While there are individualistic variations in the aging process, most human beings can be identified to be living in a condition called old age by the time they attain the age of 80-years.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: MAN’S EXISTENCE IS GOVERNED BY THE ETERNAL LAW OF AGING. MAN EXISTS WHILE HE PASSES THROUGH VARIOUS STAGES SUCH AS BOYHOOD, YOUTH, ADULTHOOD, AND OLDAGE THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH CHANGES IN FORM AND APPEARANCE.
The exact duration of human life is unknown. Guinness World Records has verified the age claims of old, living persons in the world and the highest authenticated human age is 122 years.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: FRENCH WOMAN JEANNE CALMENT COULD BE THE OLDEST PERSON TO HAVE LIVED. SHE DIED IN 1997 AT THE AGE OF 122 YEARS THAT IS VERIFIED BY THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: DINA MANFREDINI DIED IN JOHNSTON, IOWA, USA ON DECEMBER 17, 2012 AT AN OFFICIALLY VERIFIED AGE OF 115-YEARS. THE FACT OF HER OLD AGE CAN BE EASILY RECOGNIZED.
There could be a maximum life-span for the human race that is established in the human genome. To account for human longevity, it is important to study all the human records. In that exploration of written human records of human longevity, I studied Bible, particularly The Old Testament Book of Genesis which is recognized as The First Book of Moses.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The Oak tree of Abraham (Father of Multitude)
Bible shares information concerning the inheritance of longevity from the study of the genealogical records of Hebrew people such as Adam, Noah, and Abraham. In my view, the statements concerning the age at death of Hebrew people cannot be dismissed as religious fiction.
The Biblical Record of Human Life-Span:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE OLD TESTAMENT BOOK GENESIS IS A WRITTEN RECORD OF THE LIFE-SPAN OF HEBREW PEOPLE. HUMAN HISTORY AND THE RECORDS OF HUMAN LONGEVITY BEGIN WITH THE CREATION OF ADAM AND EVE IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN. THE HEBREW WORD ADAM MEANS MAN.
There is no evidence to suggest that human life-span has increased since the beginning of recorded history. Advances in Medical Science and the understanding of the principles of nutrition, sanitation, environmental hygiene, and disease prevention have contributed to a remarkable increase in the life expectancy of the general population. However, there is no valid reason to make a similar claim about human life-span. On the contrary, the Hebrew record of human longevity depicts a sudden, and dramatic drop in the expected human life-span.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE BIBLICAL LIFE-SPANS OF ADAM TO JACOB PROVIDE A VERY INTERESTING CONTRAST BETWEEN THE HEBREW PEOPLE WHO LIVED BEFORE THE EPIC FLOOD AND AFTER THE FLOOD.
The Biblical Record of man’s creation and his mortality reveal that the LORD God Creator played a crucial, and decisive role to change the length of the human life-span while external factors like food, and environment could easily tilt the balance in the direction of long-lasting life or premature death.

I would like to briefly go over a few details about the recorded life histories of Adam, Noah, and Abraham who was originally known as Abram.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Genesis, Chapter 5 claims that Adam at the age of 130 years, had a son named Seth.
Genesis, Chapter 5 claims that Adam at the age of 130 years, had a son named Seth. Adam lived for another 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived 930 years and then he died (Genesis 5:5).

IN THE HEBREW RECORD OF HUMAN HISTORY, METHUSELAH, THE GRANDFATHER OF NOAH, LIVED THE LONGEST LIFE POSSIBLE FOR ANY HUMAN BEING. HE HAD EXPERIENCED THE AGING PROCESS, BUT HIS LIFE VIGOR ENDURED OLD AGE UNTIL HE ATTAINED THE MATURE AGE OF 969 YEARS.SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: NOAH’S LIFE HISTORY IS THE MOST INTERESTING LIFE-SPAN RECORD OF THE BOOK OF GENESIS. ALTOGETHER NOAH LIVED 950 YEARS, A LIFE-SPAN THAT IS NINETEEN YEARS SHORTER AS COMPARED TO THE LIFE-SPAN OF METHUSELAH. HOLLYWOOD ACTOR RUSSELL CROWE ENACTED THE ROLE OF NOAH IN THE MOVIE TITLED NOAH.
Methuselah (grandfather of Noah) lived 969 years and then died (Genesis 5:27).
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: It is an interesting fact for Methuselah lived longer than Adam who was created by God, and longer than Noah with whom God made His Covenant to defend all Life that lives on planet Earth (Genesis 9:17).
It is an interesting fact for Methuselah lived longer than Adam who was created by God, and longer than Noah with whom God made His Covenant to defend all Life that lives on planet Earth (Genesis 9:17).
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The father of Noah, Lamech altogether lived 777 years (Genesis 5:31)
The father of Noah, Lamech altogether lived 777 years (Genesis 5:31). After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: During the lifetime of Noah, God announced a predetermined human life-span and had fixed it as 120 years.
However, the LORD God Creator makes a very dramatic decision and said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal, his days will be a hundred and twenty years.”(Genesis 6:3) God expelled Adam from the Garden of Eden and condemned Adam to lead a mortal existence. But, at that time, God made no decision about human life-span.

Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Noah survived the “Flood” and God made a Covenant with Noah and it extends to all life on the Earth.
Noah was six hundred years old when the “Flood” waters came on Earth (Genesis 7:6). Noah survived the “Flood” and God made a Covenant with Noah and it extends to all life on the Earth. Yet the same time, God makes no concession, and made no promise to extend the life-span which He decided to fix at 120 years.

In this account of Hebrew life histories, the author was not making any attempt to increase or decrease the life-spans of the Biblical characters to show any individualistic preferences. The Book of Genesis traces the genealogy of Abraham (originally called Abram) after the death of Noah at the age of 950 years.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The reproductive vigor continued to survive the aging process and Terah after living for 70 years, became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran (Genesis 11:26)
The reproductive vigor continued to survive despite the aging process and Terah after living for 70 years, became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran (Genesis 11:26).
And Terah, (father of Abram) lived 205 years and died (Genesis 11:32) and the Book of Genesis offers no further explanation for the shortened life-span of Terah.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: The life history of Terah is highly relevant for he lived longer than Abraham with whom God made a Covenant.

Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: God promised Abraham a good old age and not a very long life-span. The life history of Terah is highly relevant for he lived longer than Abraham with whom God made a Covenant
The Promise of Good Old Age:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE HEBREW RECORD OF HUMAN LIFE HISTORY IS A VERY SIGNIFICANT DOCUMENT. LORD GOD CREATOR MADE SEVERAL PROMISES TO ABRAHAM, AND MOST PARTICULARLY THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE. GOD’S DECISION ABOUT MAN’S MORTALITY AND THE HUMAN LIFE-SPAN REMAINED THE SAME AS REVEALED IN THE BOOK OF GENESIS, CHAPTER 6, VERSE 3. THIS FACT BECOMES ABUNDANTLY CLEAR WHEN WE COMPARE THE LIFE-SPANS OF ABRAHAM WITH THAT OF TERAH HIS FATHER.
The relationship between age and longevity becomes very vivid in the life history of Abraham. He was fully aware of his old age and knew that he was childless and it could be impossible to have his own offspring with his wife Sarah while both of them had already experienced the effects of old age.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: God separated the problems of the Aging Process from His Promise of Good Old Age and blessed Abraham with numerous offspring. Abraham had a son named Ishmael through his wife’s maid-servant and was ninety-nine years old when he got circumcised.
Abraham had a son named Ishmael through his wife’s maid-servant and was ninety-nine years old when he got circumcised. Eventually, Abraham’s wife Sarah became pregnant and bore a son who was named Isaac.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age.
After Sarah’s death, Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah (Genesis 25:1). Around the same time, Abraham’s son Isaac had already reached the age of reproductive maturity and married Rebekah at the age of 40. Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age.
Altogether, Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years. Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years, and he was gathered to his people (Genesis 25:7-8).
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Abraham had several children with his second wife and it clearly demonstrates the fact of being in good health in his old age. SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: GOD’S PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE WAS MADE TO ABRAHAM. ISAAC, THE SON OF ABRAHAM DIED AT 180 YEARS AGE AND HAD LIVED FOR FIVE ADDITIONAL YEARS AS COMPARED TO HIS FATHER. IN THIS PAINTING, ISAAC WAS GIVING HIS BLESSINGS TO JACOB AND HE WAS DECEIVED FOR HE BECAME BLIND ON ACCOUNT OF THE NATURAL AGING PROCESS.
The life history of Isaac is very interesting for he died at 180 years of age, 5 years longer as compared to his father Abraham. But, Isaac was not given the Promise of Good Old Age. The aging process gave him plenty of misery and he became blind and lost the ability to make the distinction between his two sons, the first-born Esau and the younger son Jacob.
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: JACOB WHO IS ALSO KNOWN AS ISRAEL(PRINCE OF GOD) IS A GREAT NAME IN HEBREW HISTORY. HE LIVED FOR 147 YEARS. IN THIS PAINTING, JACOB IS SEEN BLESSING HIS SON JOSEPH. IN SPITE OF THESE BLESSINGS, JOSEPH LIVED TO THE AGE OF ONLY 110, THE SHORTEST LIFE-SPAN AMONG BIBLICAL HEBREW PEOPLE WHOSE LEGACY STILL LIVES.
It is important to note that the aging process had consequences and had adverse impacts on the lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Genesis 47:9. It is the most impressive, and truthful statement about the experience of the aging process that I read in the Book of Genesis.
The Book of Genesis, Chapter 47, verse 9 reflects the sense of disappointment felt by Jacob about his life-span; “Joseph brought his father Jacob in before Pharaoh. After Jacob blessed Pharaoh, Pharaoh asked him, ‘How old are you?’ And Jacob said to Pharaoh, ‘The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers.” It is the most impressive, and truthful statement about the experience of the aging process that I read in the Book of Genesis.
The Biblical Theory on Aging:
SPIRITUALITY SCIENCE – THE PROMISE OF GOOD OLD AGE: THE BIBLICAL THEORY ON AGING BECOMES CLEAR IN THE NEW TESTAMENT BOOK OF REVELATION, CHAPTER 1, VERSE 14 IN WHICH JESUS CHRIST IS PORTRAYED WITH THE HAIR OF OLD AGE; “HIS HEAD AND HAIR WERE WHITE LIKE WOOL AS WHITE AS SNOW, AND HIS EYES WERE LIKE BLAZING FIRE.”
In the Book of Genesis, God created Adam as an adult and had blessed him and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. From that time, God instituted the universal Principle of Generation in which human reproduction is achieved by the union of an egg cell and sperm cell. From the moment called conception, the human organism uses an aging process to grow and to develop into a human being. If God had not driven Adam and Eve out of The Garden of Eden, they would still be living on Earth for they ate from “The Tree of Life.” To ensure man’s mortality, Adam was permanently banished from The Garden of Eden, but, he lived a long life. The aging process eventually caused Adam’s death. Later, God changed His mind; and this change was proclaimed in Genesis, Chapter 6, verse 3.

God made a decision to limit the human life-span without exclusively depending upon the aging process which undermines man’s ability to live a long, fruitful life. Apart from the reduced longevity, the Promise of Good Old Age given to Abraham was not extended to his offspring. Jesus who is a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, lived His mortal existence for a very short period and died before reaching old age. Jesus did not escape the natural aging phenomenon after His Resurrection.

This interpretation is supported by The New Testament Book Revelation, Chapter 1, verse 14 in which Jesus Christ is portrayed with the characteristic gray hair of old age; “His head and hair were white like wool as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.”
Spirituality Science – The Promise of Good Old Age: Jesus Christ took a human birth and is experiencing an aging process even after the fact of his Resurrection after death.
Jesus Christ took a human birth and is experiencing an aging process even after the fact of his Resurrection after death. The aging process cannot undermine the Longevity of Jesus Christ for God promised man an Everlasting Life through Belief in Christ.

There is no racial or ethnic identity described as American or European. For the same reason, there is no racial or ethnic identity that can be construed as Asian/Indian. India has over a billion human population. No person uses the terms Asian/Indian and Non-Hispanic if they are asked to describe their identity. However, many Indians respectfully acknowledge their racial heritage using the term Aryan. This identity is equally shared by Persians and Germans to varying extents
The differences between race and ethnicity – and why they’re so hard to define

Whole Aryan – There is no Human Race called Indian: The differences between race and ethnicity – and why they’re so hard to define
If you’ve ever filled out a Census form, a college application or a patient questionnaire at the doctor’s office, you’ve probably been asked to identify your race and ethnicity.
Governments, workplaces and educational institutions often collect data on these categories to determine things like which programs require funding, what disparities exist between different groups and when civil rights violations are occurring.
But you might have also felt that checking a box on a form requires you to define yourself in ways that don’t necessarily align with your own identity.
If it seems like the distinctions between race and ethnicity are confusing, unsatisfying or unclear, you’re onto something. These categories are messy and lack concrete definitions. Their meanings have evolved over time and can shift depending on the context.
“It’s not like there is some truthful race and truthful ethnicity out there, and that we bestow it on the population,” said Tomás Jiménez, a sociology professor at Stanford University who studies race and ethnicity. “It comes from an observation of how people use these ways of categorizing themselves and each other.”
Put another way, race and ethnicity are social and political constructs. Still, they carry enormous consequences in the US, Jiménez and other scholars say. Here’s how to make sense of them.
Race and ethnicity, defined (sort of)
In US parlance, race refers to a group of people who share physical traits – such as skin color, hair texture or eye shape – based on some common ancestry. That common ancestry is broadly related to geography, said Grace Kao, a professor of sociology at Yale University. (For example, White people can generally trace their roots back to Europe, while Black people can generally trace their roots to Africa.)
The US Office of Management and Budget, which determines the racial categories used by the Census Bureau and other federal agencies, currently outlines five racial groups: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and White.
Ethnicity, meanwhile, refers to a group of people who share a common history and culture. It sometimes (but not always) correlates to national origin – for example, a person might be categorized as racially Asian and ethnically Chinese. But this understanding of ethnicity would not apply in other parts of the world. In China, for example, a person’s ethnicity would be described using more specific terms. There are 56 officially recognized ethnic groups in the country, including the Han people, the Mongols and the Uyghurs.
Census forms and other questionnaires rely on self-identification to determine a person’s race and ethnicity. But people make assumptions and assessments about others’ racial and ethnic identities all the time, and individuals don’t have control over how they’re perceived. Nancy López, a professor of sociology at the University of New Mexico, refers to this phenomenon as “street race” – the race that people see you as when you’re out in public.
“When you show up to look for an apartment, people are not asking you ‘What’s your ancestry?’” López said. “They just take a look at you and decide, ‘We want people who look like you living next to us or we don’t.’”
One way to understand street race is through the way Blackness is characterized in the US. Someone can have a Black parent and a White parent, but if they have a certain skin tone and hair texture, they will likely be perceived as solely Black (a legacy of the one-drop rulethat classified anyone with known African ancestry as Black).
Kao pointed to her own identity as an Asian American woman as another example. People might assume upon looking at her that she doesn’t speak English or that she’s an immigrant. But she said her husband, who is White and from Canada, doesn’t face those kinds of assumptions.
“That speaks to how important race is,” she said. “It’s not something we can just pretend doesn’t exist, because it affects everything in terms of our daily lives.”
Examples of how race and ethnicity overlap
Despite their importance in our society, the categories of race and ethnicity are far from fixed.
Merriam-Webster’s dictionary entry shows that race has previously been understood as “a group of people sharing a common cultural, geographical, linguistic, or religious origin or background,” “the descendants of a common ancestor” and “a group of people sharing some habit or characteristic (such as profession or belief).” During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, for example, groups such as the Irish, Italians and Jews were referred to in the US as separate races. Today, members of those groups would largely be classified as White in the US.
The US Census is another useful case study in the malleability of race.
Beginning in 1870, the government added Chinese under a category labeled “color” to describe all East Asians. The “color” category was later renamed as “race,” and Japanese was added in 1890. Later iterations of the form used the term Hindu to describe South Asians (despite the fact that most South Asian migrants at the time were Sikh and Muslim), according to the Pew Research Center.
Mexican was included as a racial category on the 1930 census. But Mexican American groups at the time didn’t want Mexicans to be counted as a separate race, fearing that would affect how certain populations are counted. might be targeted by the government. It would be 40 years before the government tried to count the Latino population again, this time asking about origin separately from race. Though the wording of the question has since evolved, the census continues to categorize Hispanic and Latino as an ethnic identity rather than a racial one.
The five racial categories that are listed on the census today – American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Native or Other Pacific Islander, and White – have been in place since 1997. But there has long been debate about whether those are sufficient, and the Biden administration is currently proposing changes to the 2030 census that would affect how certain populations are counted.
Whole Aryan – There is no Human Race called Indian: The differences between race and ethnicity – and why they’re so hard to define
The proposal would combine the race and ethnicity questions into one. That means instead of being asked about Hispanic or Latino origin separately from race, respondents would see a box for “Hispanic or Latino” alongside such categories as “Black,” “White” and “American Indian or Alaska Native.” Respondents would be able to select multiple categories from the list. Several Latino civil rights organizationssupport the change – many Latinos currently check the “some other race” box, and there have been concerns about whether the population is being adequately counted.
Others, including Afro-Latino scholars such as López, argue that combining race and ethnicity into one category on the census would lump together a highly diverse population and make it more difficult to understand racial inequities in housing, employment and other arenas. There are White, Black and Indigenous Latinos, López said. She instead proposes that the Census add a category such as “brown” to capture the specific experiences that Latinos of mixed ancestry experience.
Under the proposed changes to the 2030 Census, “Middle Eastern or North African” would also be added as a category – the government currently classifies those of Middle Eastern or North African (MENA) descent as White, although many Arab Americans have said that does not reflect their reality.
Kao said such debates over how groups are categorized illustrate just how complicated these categories are.
“Everything is messy,” she added. “If we were talking five years from now or 10 years from now, it could be totally different.”
Why race and ethnicity are important
Jiménez thinks about the categories of race and ethnicity as “claims that we make about who’s in and who’s out.”
In the case of race, Jiménez says, society has ascribed meaning to certain physical features and created a hierarchy around them that informs who is treated with respect and dignity and who has access to wealth, education and other resources. But race isn’t an innate biological classification – anthropologists and geneticists who have studied these questions have found that there is no set of physical or behavioral traits that corresponds to all of the people in a given race. Our understanding of race is instead a product of colonization, the transatlantic slave trade and migration patterns, scholars say.
“Our modern conception of race is one that is European, and it immediately puts Europeans or Whites at the top of the hierarchy,” Kao said. “You can argue that if you have racial groups, you don’t need to have a hierarchy. We can say the world is divided into these populations and not assume that one is superior to the other. But that’s not the way our racial categories have formed.”
Ethnicity can be similarly squishy, Jiménez said. There are certain markers that we typically use to determine whether someone is part of an ethnic group, like where their family is from, what foods they eat or what language they speak. Still, a person with Puerto Rican parents who doesn’t speak Spanish might be seen by others in the community as “not Latino enough” just as a person with one Iranian parent might be seen as “not Persian enough.”
To complicate matters, ethnicity is sometimes conflated with political states that may not have existed in their current form a few hundred years ago. For example, Jiménez points out, Italian is widely considered an ethnicity in the US today. But some earlier Italian immigrants might not have described themselves as Italian given regional differences within the population, he added.
“The fact that the boundaries move around… (and) the fact that those change over time all speak to the fact that we’re making this up collectively,” Jiménez said.
Given that these categories are social constructions, it might be tempting to suggest that we do away with them all together. On an individual level, these classifications can feel limiting, Kao said – no one wants to feel constrained by stereotypes or perceptions that others have of them because of their racial or ethnic identity. But at the same time, race – and ethnicity to a degree – has very real implications in our society, and understanding it is imperative to discern where disparities are occurring and how they might be addressed.
That, Jiménez said, is the paradox of these socially constructed categories.
“It is something that frustrates us,” he said. “It’s also in some ways a requirement if we are to get to a place where these categories matter less and less – in ways that affect us negatively.”

India and Iran – What is the Connection?
Whole Race – Whole Persian: India and Iran – What is the connection? It relates to my military service in the Indian Army and the Royal Oman Army.
I joined the Indian Army Medical Corps during September 1969 when I qualified for the grant of Short Service Regular Commission in the rank of Second Lieutenant. General Manekshaw had a very high reputation across all the ranks and branches of the Indian Armed Forces. I had no opportunity to meet him in person but I always felt motivated by his spirit and enthusiasm to perform military tasks with cheerfulness and a sense of strong conviction to uphold the pride and dignity of Indian Army.
MY CONNECTION WITH THE PARSI COMMUNITY OF INDIA:
Whole Race – Whole Persian: Parsi Community in India had arrived from HORMUZ area of Persia. My military career in India began under the leadership of General Sam Manekshaw, a Parsi by birth, and Srimati Indira Gandhi who had married Feroze Gandhi, a Parsi by birth. Interestingly, my military career has ended in July 1986 at KHASAB, on the shores of the Strait of Hormuz.
Parsis are the followers in India of the Iranian Prophet Zoroaster. The name means Persians. According to tradition, the Parsis had initially settled at Hormuz on the Persian Gulf and they sailed to India in the 8th century. They form a well-defined community and they have retained almost unchanged the beliefs and customs of their ancestors. Just like other Indians, the Parsis consider the elements of Fire, Water and Earth as sacred. I would like to speak about two members of this community with whom I am connected with love and a great admiration.
1. Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw:
WHOLE RACE – WHOLE PERSIAN: SAM THE BRAVE’-FIELD MARSHAL SAM HORMUSJI FRAMJI JAMSHEDJI MANEKSHAW, MILITARY CROSS, PADMA VIBHUSHAN, PADMA BHUSHAN, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF 07 JUNE 1969-15 JAN 1973
In the year 1969, while I was a student at Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, I qualified for the grant of Short Service Regular Commission to join the Indian Army Medical Corps in the rank of Second Lieutenant. I joined the Army Medical Corps on 26 July, 1970 in the rank of Lieutenant. On completion of my training, I got promoted to the rank of Captain on 26 July, 1971. My first task was getting ready for the crisis that India was facing on account of the influx of the Bangla refugees.
Whole Race – Whole Persian: Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw is popularly known as ‘SAM BAHADUR’. He was 8th Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army from 07 June 1969 to 15 January 1973. My career in the Indian Army commenced with this Parsi Connection. He served as the GOC-in-C of the Eastern Command.
General Manekshaw was born in Amritsar, Punjab to Parsi parents. He became the 8th Chief of Staff of the Indian Army in 1969 and his distinguished military career has spanned four decades and through five wars, including World War II. He has the rare distinction of being honoured for his bravery on the battle front itself. He won the Military Cross for display of his valour in face of stiff resistance from the Japanese while he was leading a counter-offensive against the invading Japanese Army in Burma. He is the architect of India’s heroic victory in the 1971 India-Pakistan War. He had shown uncommon ability to motivate the troops and coupled it with a mature war strategy. He had masterminded the rout of the Pakistan Army in one of the quickest victories in recent military history. I take pride in my military service and my connection to Sam Bahadur. This military experience has helped me while I participated in Military Security and Intelligence Operations at Strait of Hormuz, Persian Gulf during 1984 to 1986 while I served in Royal Oman Army.
Whole Race – Whole Persian: The rugged sea coast of Musandam Peninsula where I had worked hard patrolling the coastline, visiting remote villages, looking for Iranian infiltrators. Iran is just 18 miles away. I used to look towards Bandar Abbas of Iran which is clearly visible while I used to drive over these hill cliffs. I had a sense of fascination for Hormuz region of Iran. Parsi community of India had arrived from Hormuz. My military career in Indian Army had started under General Manek Shaw. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s husband Feroze Gandhi was a Parsi by birth. I had actually visited Iranian Embassy in Muscat. The Staff were excited to receive me as I went there in my military uniform and they had recognized that I was stationed at Khasab defending Strait of Hormuz. They wanted to help me but they had no powers. I was not seeking a tourist visa. I had reconciled. It was not God’s Plan. When God plans your Journey, there would be no obstacles. His uplifting power would enable you to overcome all obstacles.
I began my military service under the leadership of a member of the Parsi Community which had arrived in India from Hormuz area of Persian Gulf (Iran) and my military career came to a final conclusion at Headquarters Peninsular Security Force (Hq PENSEC), Musandam, Khasab, on the shores of Persian Gulf at Strait of Hormuz while I was very actively involved in arresting the growth of Iranian influence in that area.
2. FEROZE GANDHI (FEROZE GANDHY):

Feroze Gandhi was born into a Parsi family. He was a member of India’s first Parliament. He won his election in 1952 and in 1957 from Rai Bareilly constituency in Uttar Pradesh. His wife was his election manager. He was the husband of India’s first woman Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi and the father of the former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. His grandson is a Member of Indian Parliament. Feroze died in 1960 but his name connects me to our beloved Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. I was a student in Kurnool Medical College in 1966 when Mrs. Gandhi was first appointed as the Prime Minister. I wrote her a personal letter to congratulate her and she had graciously responded to that letter. In 1967, I was in New Delhi to participate in a National Student Seminar for National Integration . Myself and other student delegates had a opportunity to meet Mrs. Gandhi at her residence and exchanged our views and expressed our concerns on several issues. After joining Indian Army, in 1971, I joined duty at the Office of the Directorate General of Security which takes its orders from the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Secretariat. It gave me an opportunity to understand the great leadership role played by Mrs.Gandhi and it provided me an insight into her foreign policy initiatives. Mrs. Gandhi’s decisive leadership had helped India to successfully test our first nuclear weapon.

Perhaps because there are so few of us around, people feel obliged to email and SMS me snippets of news and views, blogs, pictures and videos about Parsees. The complimentary pieces are bittersweet gestures of affection for a friend. They come tinged with regret that seems to mourn the inevitable passing away of our tiny community. The last little video I got came with the message “You should be proud” and opened into a montage of the usual greats. I watched with only tepid interest as the pictures and names in blazoned heroic script passed across the screen. There was Jamshedji, and Dorabji, Nani, Fali and Soli. There was Bhikhaji Cama and atomic energy Bhabha and Rattan of course, Adi, and apro Zubin and Cyrus. I’d seen them all before. At the end, the video stalled and I realised I was mildly miffed at the producers who had missed one name.Still and sad, I stared hard at the little dots going round and round as the video buffered into its last five seconds. In those long moments, I felt my chest tighten and my eyes prick as I remembered the missing man. He had meant so much to us. Eight years dead this week, he was still right there at every family gathering, lighting up the room with silly teasing and laughter, telling funny stories about the cook in Amritsar whose kheema my mother could never match, or the fair girl who’d given him his first innocent kiss by the back loo in exchange for a promise not to tell the elders she was meeting with the local rake, or the tale of how he had exasperated his mother into throwing a bunch of keys at him for explaining to all the household that his hazel eyes came from being born in Egypt. When we asked; “Why Egypt? His only explanation was “Baby, that’s the only name I knew!”
He taught us the names of all the flowers in the garden and read us Scheherazade stories from the Arabian Nights. Then wickedly played king. My sister was the favoured and beautiful Lal Pari, I the ugly sidey grateful to be included. When we asked what our mother was he’d say airily: “Oh, she’s the lady in waiting — waiting for everything.” He loved being the hero and would post us scurrilous detective stories at boarding school. In the hols, I complained to my aunt that no one believed the letters were from my father and she cried out “Bhai, you’re still doing the same thing!” She had been an early victim in their school days. He had enthusiasms and dragged us willy-nilly into them because they had to be shared by everyone around. So my mother, straw hat on head, walked across the winter sun fields near Delhi while he shot quail and joined the locals in chai on the khatia after. At home, my sister wiggled hot and impatient under studio lights while he perfected the angle of his tripod camera. At the race course, he taught me to feed our one-fourth of a race horse with an open flat hand so I wouldn’t get bitten. It mattered not at all that First Entry never won a race. In Ferozpur, the huge grounds of Flagstaff House turned him farmer. So we all dug potatoes out of the ground, picked cotton and felt how aniseed tasted right off the stalk. In Mhow, he battled the cook for suzerainty over the kitchen and competed with him to show he could make the best tasting chola ever — for breakfast! In Coonoor, it was trout fishing and endless hours fiddling to find just the right rods and reels and being coaxed into spearing live bait on to hook because he wasn’t going to do it. Then it was milch cows. We had to have them. All the houses along Porter Avenue got milk at the same price for 20 years. Meticulous accounts were kept. The grandchildren got the 6 am milk run and my mother got to name the animals: Rose (naturally, what else can you name a cow), then Rose Bud, then just Bud, then Bud Bud. Until the Gorkhas put their foot down and only a minimal cow was allowed to remain on the premises. He loved being loved and retired hurt one time when our long time charioteer cook and Gorkhas agreed that “hamari madam jaisa koi nahi”. He wasn’t expecting it. Beyond the jesting, there was wisdom. “You must spoil your children and spoil your children but they must never get spoiled.” He’d say. The video jerked into play and pulled me out of my reverie. At last I was face to face with the last name and portrait. We looked at each other and I realised I wasn’t looking for the Great Man at all but for the funny, handsome brave father whose face anyway lives behind my eyes — always.
