John A. McCone obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley. He built his career in the steel, construction, shipping, shipbuilding, and aircraft production industries. He founded the Bechtel-McCone Steel Company and his role in shipbuilding, and military aircraft production had attracted the attention of President Harry S. Truman who had appointed him to the Air Policy Commission in 1947 to develop strategy for American military airpower. During 1948, he was appointed as the Special Deputy to the Secretary of Defense. In 1950, he was appointed as Undersecretary of the Air Force. President Dwight Eisenhower appointed him as the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission during 1958 and held that position until 1961.

During his tenure as the Chairman of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, John McCone made very significant disclosures about Israel’s nuclear capabilities. After the disaster of the Bay of Pigs Invasion of Cuba, President Kennedy forced the resignation of the CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles and Richard Bissell, the Deputy Director for Plans and Operations who had a major role in making the plan for this CIA’s Black Operation. In a very surprising, and sudden move, President Kennedy called John McCone, a Republican to take charge of the Central Intelligence Agency disregarding the fact that McCone had no prior experience in Intelligence.

McCone was responsible for a number of covert operations in Vietnam, Laos, Cuba, Ecuador, and Brazil. John McCone was present in the meeting held at The White House on November 19, 1962 to enter into an agreement/pact with India, and the Tibetan Government-in-Exile to formulate Establishment No. 22/Special Frontier Force to address the military threat posed by People’s Republic of China’s military occupation of Tibet. This operation that involves India and Tibet remains a secret. McCone was a key figure during the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. He predicted that the Soviet Union would place offensive nuclear weapons in Cuba. However, he had differences with President Lyndon B. Johnson and had resigned from his post during April 1965 and was replaced by  Admiral William F. Raborn. President Ronald Reagan during 1987 presented John McCone with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

I say that John McCone was one of the best managers that CIA ever had. I call him a Whole Champion. What do you want to say?

Richard Helms was the chief architect of the legislation, National Security Act of September 1947 that created the Central Intelligence Agency replacing the wartime Office of Strategic Services. CIA came into existence during the presidency of Harry S Truman, 33rd President of the US (1949-1952). The National Security Council that is chaired by the President was formed in 1949, CIA was established in 1951.

Richard Helms was commissioned into US Naval Reserve during 1942 and served as Lieutenant Commander. He served with Office of Strategic Services and its successors from 1943 to 1947. He held various appointments within the CIA. He was the Deputy Director of Plans from 1962 to 1965. He was the Deputy Director of the CIA from April 28, 1965 to June 1966. Between 1950 and 1973, the CIA had also carried on extensive mind-control experiments at universities, prisons, and hospitals which included the use of LSD and other mind-altering drugs on unwitting test subjects. However, there is a huge concern about CIA tactics to prevent Salvador Allende from winning the 1970 elections in Chile and later when CIA worked to topple him from power. CIA had tried to assassinate several foreign leaders, including Fidel Castro of Cuba. But, the CIA had not acted on its own and was only trying to serve the political bosses of their times.

The U.S. national debt topped $34 trillion for the first time ever, crossing a critical milestone at a time when government spending is already under scrutiny.

The national debt – which measures what the U.S. owes its creditors — hit $34 trillion as of Friday afternoon, according to new data published by the Treasury Department. By comparison, just four decades ago, the national debt hovered around $907 billion.

The national debt is expected to nearly double in size over the next three decades, according to the latest findings from the Congressional Budget Office. At the end of 2022, the national debt grew to about 97% of gross domestic product.

Under current law, that figure is expected to skyrocket to 181% at the end of 2053 – a debt burden that will far exceed any previous level.

“Though our level of debt is dangerous for both our economy and for national security, America just cannot stop borrowing,” said Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

US starts fiscal year with record $31 trillion in debt

By FATIMA HUSSEIN, AP News, October 4, 2022

The Rudolf-Rudi doctrine of Spiritualism describes the Debt Addiction as a symptom of Spiritual Sickness. The US President Joe Biden may have to pray for the Blessings promised by God.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The nation’s gross national debt has surpassed $31 trillion, according to a U.S. Treasury report released Tuesday that logs America’s daily finances.

Edging closer to the statutory ceiling of roughly $31.4 trillion — an artificial cap Congress placed on the U.S. government’s ability to borrow — the debt numbers hit an already tenuous economy facing high inflation, rising interest rates and a strong U.S. dollar.

And while President Joe Biden has touted his administration’s deficit reduction efforts this year and recently signed the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, which attempts to tame 40-year high price increases caused by a variety of economic factors, economists say the latest debt numbers are a cause for concern.

Owen Zidar, a Princeton economist, said rising interest rates will exacerbate the nation’s growing debt issues and make the debt itself more costly. The Federal Reserve has raised rates several times this year in an effort to combat inflation.

Zidar said the debt “should encourage us to consider some tax policies that almost passed through the legislative process but didn’t get enough support,” like imposing higher taxes on the wealthy and closing the carried interest loophole, which allows money managers to treat their income as capital gains.

“I think the point here is if you weren’t worried before about the debt before, you should be — and if you were worried before, you should be even more worried,” Zidar said.

The Congressional Budget Office earlier this year released a report on America’s debt load, warning in its 30-year outlook that, if unaddressed, the debt will soon spiral upward to new highs that could ultimately imperil the U.S. economy.

In its August Mid-Session Review, the administration forecasted that this year’s budget deficit will be nearly $400 billion lower than it estimated back in March, due in part to stronger than expected revenues, reduced spending, and an economy that has recovered all the jobs lost during the multi-year pandemic.

In full, this year’s deficit will decline by $1.7 trillion, representing the single largest decline in the federal deficit in American history, the Office of Management and Budget said in August.

Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said in an emailed statement Tuesday, “This is a new record no one should be proud of.”

“In the past 18 months, we’ve witnessed inflation rise to a 40-year high, interest rates climbing in part to combat this inflation, and several budget-busting pieces of legislation and executive actions,” MacGuineas said. “We are addicted to debt.”

A representative from the Treasury Department was not immediately available for comment.

Sung Won Sohn, an economics professor at Loyola Marymount University, said “it took this nation 200 years to pile up its first trillion dollars in national debt, and since the pandemic we have been adding at the rate of 1 trillion nearly every quarter.”

Predicting high inflation for the “foreseeable future,” he said, “when you increase government spending and money supply, you will pay the price later.”

The Rudolf-Rudi doctrine of Spiritualism describes the Debt Addiction as a symptom of Spiritual Sickness. President Bill Clinton’s fiscal policy violates the principle of Equal Justice Under Law.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

Presidents’ Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February; Presidents’ Day 2022 occurs on Monday, February 21.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.

The story of Presidents’ Day date begins in 1800. Following the death of George Washington in 1799, his February 22 birthday became a perennial day of remembrance.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

The Uniform Monday Holiday Act also included a provision to combine the celebration of Washington’s birthday with that of Abraham Lincoln, which fell on February 12. Lincoln’s Birthday had long been a state holiday in places like Illinois, and many supported joining the two days as a way of giving equal recognition to two of America’s most famous statesmen.

Washington and Lincoln still remain the two most recognized leaders, but Presidents’ Day is now popularly seen as a day to recognize the lives and achievements of all of America’s chief executives. Some lawmakers have objected to this view, arguing that grouping George Washington and Abraham Lincoln together with less successful presidents minimizes their legacies.

In its modern form, Presidents’ Day is used by many patriotic and historical groups as a date for staging celebrations, reenactments and other events. A number of states also require that their public schools spend the days leading up to Presidents’ Day teaching students about the accomplishments of the presidents, often with a focus on the lives of Washington and Lincoln.

Which Foreign governments own the most U.S. debt?

Answer: Here is the Top 10 (as of Sep/2019)

1. Japan, $1145.8 billion dollars
2. China, Mainland, $1102.4 billion dollars
3. All Other, $484.8 billion dollars
4. United Kingdom, $346.2 billion dollars
5. Brazil, $301.2 billion dollars
6. Ireland, $274.1 billion dollars
7. Luxembourg, $252.5 billion dollars
8. Cayman Islands, $238.7 billion dollars
9. Switzerland, $231.3 billion dollars
10. Hong Kong, $224.2 billion dollars

Of the $5.1 trillion dollars of US debt that is owned by foreign governments, China and Japan own nearly half, as evidenced by this chart:

America’s national debt surpasses $30 trillion for the first time

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation Must Wake Up to the Reality of the Clinton Curse.

Skyrocketing pile of debt

The federal government now owes almost $8 trillion to foreign and international investors, led by Japan and China. Eventually, that will need to be paid back, with interest.

“That means American taxpayers will be paying for the retirement of the people in China and Japan, who are our creditors,” said Kelly.

The $30 trillion national debt figure is somewhat inflated by the fact that a chunk of the money is owed by the government to itself. This is debt held in Social Security and other government trust funds. So-called intragovernmental holdings total more than $6 trillion.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

The United States must reflect upon the actions of the 42nd President that violate the LORD’ s Commandments. The Welfare Reform Act of 1996 enacted by President Bill Clinton reintroduced Slavery into the United States nullifying President Abraham Lincoln’s Proclamation that abolished Slavery.

Whole Dude – Whole Schedule: Planning a Work Schedule that is consistent with God’s Plan for man’s Work Week

As in most industrialized countries, the Standard Work Week in the United States begins on Monday and ends on Friday. During the Depression, President Herbert Hoover called for a reduction in Work Hours in lieu of layoffs. Later, President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, which established a five-day, 40-hour workweek for many workers.

Whole Dude – Whole Schedule: Planning a Work Schedule that is consistent with God’s Plan for man’s Work Week. Labor Costs and Labor Budgets often determine the Weekly Hours of Work.

In today’s rapidly changing business world, types of work schedules are as varied as the companies that adopt them. The following are some of the types of Weekly Work Schedules.

1) Standard

A standard business schedule is one where employees work set days (usually Monday through Friday) and set hours (usually 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). This is often referred to as a “9-to-5 work schedule.”

2) Fixed

Fixed is similar to the standard work schedule — set days and set hours — but can apply to alternative work times, such as Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

3) Full-Time

A full-time work schedule type indicates that an employee will work 37-40 hours per week. They may work five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, or six 6.5-hour days. The days worked don’t matter, just the total amount of hours.

4) Part-Time

A part-time work schedule is one in which an employee works fewer than full-time hours. Because of the reduced hours, employees may only work two or three days per week and may not work the regular eight hours per day.

5) Shift

Another of the more common work schedule types, shift work is usually reserved for businesses that operate more than 10 hours in a single day.

If a business stays open around the clock (24 hours), they will usually set up a first shift (e.g., 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.), a second shift (e.g., 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.), and a night, or third, shift (e.g., 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.).

The Concept of Whole Schedule

Whole Dude – Whole Schedule: Planning a Work Schedule that is consistent with God’s Plan for man’s Work Week

To plan a Weekly Work Schedule that is consistent with God’s Plan for man’s Work Week, I coined the phrase Whole Schedule. In this concept, Monday can be and need not be the First Day of the Week. The Working Week includes any of the Six Days of the Week. The Work Week is in fact the Holy Week as the Work Schedule is consistent with God’s Plan for man’s Work Week. In God’s Plan, Work is ordained and the number of days spent on Work shall be Six Days.

The Concept of Positive Sixth-Day Adventist Work Culture is inspired by God’s Work Week:

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

Six is a number perfect in itself. God created the world and the man in Six Days because this number is perfect. For that reason, the man must also choose a Six-Day Work Week.

The Seventh-Day Adventists believe that the Sabbath should be observed on the seventh day of the week, i.e. from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. I coined the phrase Sixth-Day Adventist to give my highest priority to God’s Commandment asking man to perform labor or work for Six Days. In my analysis, God ordained a Six-Day Work Schedule without which man cannot seek the blessings of Sabbath. The Rudi-Grant Connection at Whole Foods follows the Six-Day Weekly Work Schedule.

Unanimous ruling finds employers must show ‘substantial increased costs’ to deny an accommodation

By Ryan Tarinelli

Posted June 29, 2023 at 1:22pm

The Supreme Court broadened religious protections for workers Thursday in a ruling that clarified when employers can refuse religious accommodations for workers.

The unanimous opinion, written by Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., found that employers must show that granting such an accommodation would lead to “substantial increased costs” in relation to the conduct of its business.

Alito wrote that justices are “brushing away” an incorrect interpretation of a previous Supreme Court case on Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. He pointed out that a diverse group of religious organizations contended that the interpretation had “blessed the denial of even minor accommodation in many cases, making it harder for members of minority faiths to enter the job market.”

The case stems from a suit brought by a rural mail carrier in Pennsylvania, Gerald Groff, who quit rather than deliver Amazon packages on Sundays, citing his Christian religion. He then sued the U.S. Postal Service for discrimination.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit ruled in the Postal Service’s favor, citing a landmark decision from the Supreme Court in 1977, Transworld Airlines, Inc. v. Hardison, which found employers did not have to bear “undue hardship” to accommodate employees’ religious observance.

In court filings, Groff argued that the 1977 decision tamped down on the religious rights of employees that Congress meant to protect in the 1972 amendments to the Civil Rights Act.

The 3rd Circuit and other lower courts — based on a line in the 1977 decision — interpreted “undue hardship” to mean any cost or effort that is more than “de minimis,” Alito wrote in the ruling.

But that interpretation is “erroneous,” Alito wrote, and “may have had the effect of leading courts to pay insufficient attention to what the actual text of Title VII means with regard to several recurring issues.”

“We think it is enough to say that an employer must show that the burden of granting an accommodation would result in substantial increased costs in relation to the conduct of its particular business,” the opinion states.

The Supreme Court found that the law requires that an employer reasonably accommodate a worker’s religious practice, “not merely that it assess the reasonableness of a particular possible accommodation or accommodations.”

“This distinction matters. Faced with an accommodation request like Groff’s, it would not be enough for an employer to conclude that forcing other employees to work overtime would constitute an undue hardship,” the court ruled. “Consideration of other options, such as voluntary shift swapping, would also be necessary.”

Some congressional Republicans had backed such an interpretation in briefs filed in the case.

The Biden administration had argued that the court should leave the issue for members of Congress, who have spent decades considering and rejecting a higher standard to accommodate religious employees.

The Justice Department told the justices that Groff asked “this Court to do what Congress would not” by rewriting the law.

The existing law may provide too little protection for religious workers, according to the Biden administration brief, but “that argument should be directed to Congress, which is better positioned to weigh the competing interests in this sensitive area and strike the appropriate balance.”

U.S. Supreme Court buoys religious employees who seek accommodations at work

By Andrew Chung

June 29 (Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday bolstered the ability of employees to obtain accommodations at work for their religious practices, reviving a lawsuit by an evangelical Christian former mail carrier accusing the Postal Service of discrimination after being disciplined for refusing to show up for work on Sundays.

The 9-0 ruling threw out a lower court’s decision rejecting a claim by Gerald Groff, a former mail carrier in Pennsylvania, that the Postal Service’s actions refusing to exempt him from working on Sundays, when he observes the Sabbath, violated federal anti-discrimination law.

Groff’s case centered on a federal anti-discrimination law called Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on religion and other factors including race, sex and national origin.

Under Title VII, employers must make allowances for a worker’s religious observance or practices unless that would cause the business “undue hardship” – which the Supreme Court in a 1977 case called Trans World Airlines v. Hardison determined to be anything imposing more than a minor, or “de minimis,” cost.

The court in Thursday’s ruling clarified the Hardison precedent. Conservative Justice Samuel Alito, who authored the decision, wrote, “We hold that showing ‘more than a de minimis cost,’ as that phrase is used in common parlance, does not suffice to establish ‘undue hardship’ under Title VII.”

Alito added, “We think it is enough to say that an employer must show that the burden of granting an accommodation would result in substantial increased costs in relation to the conduct of its particular business.”

Groff’s attorney Aaron Streett praised the ruling, saying, “This is an important victory for Americans of all faiths, who may now follow their religious consciences in the workplace.”

Groups representing some religions that are in the minority in the United States including Islam, Judaism and Hinduism had backed Groff in the case, saying they are disproportionately denied religious accommodations, forcing them to choose between their religion and their jobs.

US Supreme Court Issues Historic Ruling Strengthening Religious Accommodation Protections for Workers

In a unanimous decision issued on Thursday, June 29, the United States Supreme Court has discarded decades-long precedent by strengthening legal protections for workers whose religious beliefs conflict with their job obligations. The ruling in Groff v. DeJoy is expected to have a significant impact on job opportunities for Americans of various faiths who have frequently faced challenges due to their Sabbath-keeping practices. The Court’s decision will reshape how businesses offer religious accommodation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The legal team representing Groff included Adventist attorney Alan Reinach, who serves as director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty for the Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. During the appeals process, First Liberty, a prominent religious freedom advocacy group, joined the litigation team and recruited appellate counsel Aaron Streett from the law firm Baker Botts, LLP. The case was argued before the Court on April 18, 2023.

Speaking for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and its North American Division, Todd McFarland, Deputy General Counsel, who also wrote the amicus brief filed by the church, said, “We are very pleased this morning that the Supreme Court took an important step towards protecting people of faith in the workplace. No one should have to choose between their job and their faith. Today’s decision reaffirms that employers cannot use an employee’s religious belief as an excuse to terminate them.”

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

A diverse group of faith-based and religious liberty organizations filed amicus briefs with the Supreme Court supporting Groff, including the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, The American Center for Law And Justice, The Sikh Coalition, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the American Hindu Coalition, the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, and the Baptist Joint Commission.

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

Drawing on the 1977 case, employers only had to suffer a bare minimum amount of hardship to justify denying religious accommodation to an employee,” Reinach said. “This standard neutered the law and led to the termination of employment for literally thousands of Americans of all faiths. Seventh-day Adventists were especially harmed in that hourly wage workers are frequently assigned shift schedules including Sabbath hours.”

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

The Supreme Court’s ruling in Groff v. DeJoy not only acknowledged the unfair burden placed on workers with religious conflicts but also highlighted the need for a more robust approach to religious accommodation.

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

The ruling is expected to have far-reaching implications for workers across the country. By raising the standard for employers to justify denying religious accommodation, the Court’s decision provides greater protection for employees with sincerely held religious beliefs. It sends a clear message that employers must make reasonable efforts to accommodate their employees’ religious practices, even if it requires some degree of hardship.

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

The decision in Groff v. DeJoy is seen as a significant victory for religious freedom advocates who have long argued for stronger legal protections. It marks a shift toward a more equitable approach that recognizes the importance of accommodating the diverse religious practices of American workers. As a result of this ruling, employees who face conflicts between their job requirements and their religious beliefs can expect increased opportunities to obtain reasonable accommodations from their employers.

Sixth-Day Adventism – The US Supreme Court defends the Right to Labor for Six Days in a Week

Attorney Mitch Tyner, retired associate general counsel for the church and also a former Capitol Hill liaison, was both pleased and cautious about the Court’s decision. “First, kudos to Todd McFarland and team who finally got the court to right a wrong from fifty years ago,” Tyner said. “I spent more than 40 years working toward that end, and they were able to get the job done. That said, note that the opinion leaves lots of wiggle room for lower courts to decide what constitutes a substantial cost increase in each case. The Court has changed the recipe to be used to arrive at a correct decision. But remember, the ultimate proof is in the pudding, not in the recipe.” As the ruling sets a new precedent for religious accommodation, it remains to be seen how rapidly employers will adapt their policies and practices. Further litigation to clarify the Supreme Court’s new thresholds is anticipated. It is clear, however, that this decision marks a significant milestone in protecting the rights of workers with religious conflicts.

Happy New Year 2024 – Wisdom to guide me in 2024

Excerpt: The man cannot discover God’s mind by inventing schemes or mental tricks, or by using cunningness or deception. Man has to submit to Will of God and learn about God with guidance, assistance, instruction, and counsel of the Spirit, the Spirit of the Lord. The man cannot depend upon his own thoughts, mind, intellect, and wisdom to know God’s mind. It is the Spirit or Soul which is of the Lord that can counsel, guide, and instruct a man to live according to God’s thoughts, mind, intellect, and wisdom.

Happy New Year 2024 – Wisdom to guide me in 2024. THE WISDOM AND POWER OF GOD. I SEEK WISDOM TO GUIDE ME IN 2024 FROM THOUGHTS SHARED BY SAINT PAUL IN HIS FIRST LETTER SENT TO MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH IN CORINTH. I AM A PRISONER SEEKING FREEDOM THROUGH A MIRACLE

Firstly, I acknowledge that I no longer depend upon my intellect to support my frugal earthly existence. I am indeed astounded for my intellect has vanished for all practical purposes. I seek wisdom to guide me in 2024 from thoughts shared by Saint Paul in his First Letter to the Church at Corinth. For I am a prisoner living in a free country, I seek the freedom experienced by Saint Paul who was held captive in prisons.

“We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.”

Saint Paul graciously acknowledges the wisdom of the ‘mature’ but I recognize the role of natural aging process which invariably and inevitably compromises man’s mental faculties and impairs man’s intellectual functions. No man can truly boast before God about his intelligence or wisdom. The man merely enjoys intelligence or wisdom under the operating Principle called Divine Providence. No man can escape from the natural consequences of aging or maturing called ‘Senescence’. For a man leads a perishable, conditioned, mortal existence, the man needs Wisdom of LORD of GLORY, the LORD who conquered Death.

“For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s Spirit within him?”

I am glad to note that Saint Paul made a clear distinction between man’s Mind, the Seat of Thoughts and man’s Spirit which I often describe as ‘The Knowing-Self’, the true or real ‘SELF’ that knows all the activities of man’s Body and Mind. This Mind-Spirit Dualism is important to gain the full understanding of a man.

“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words( or Spirit interpreting spiritual truths to spiritual men). The man without Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

This statement of Saint Paul gives an impression that the term Spirit is not the same as Soul, a vital, animating principle found in all living things. In my analysis, all men, and all living beings have Soul as there is no existence in the absence of Soul. The man and all living entities need Divine Grace, Mercy, and Compassion often described as ‘PROVIDENCE’ to sustain, to support, and to maintain their fragile, transient existence in the natural world. However, a man can be foolish, a man can be ignorant if he believes that he exists in the physical world without the assistance of Spirit and Soul. Man, very often fails to understand that he is connected, related, joined, associated, bonded, and is in partnership with God. The man receives Divine Providence because of Spirit and Soul that establishes this Unity between man and God.

During 2024, I need wisdom to guide me to discover my purpose in my life. I cannot discover the purpose of my life without understanding God’s Plan for my life. I cannot discern God’s Plan for my life using my thoughts, human mind, human intellect, and human wisdom for they are all destined to be destroyed and are not comparable to God’s thoughts, God’s Mind, God’s Intelligence, and God’s Wisdom. However, I draw inspiration and hope from the teachings of Saint Paul which he shared with us in his First Letter to Corinthians.

A MAN’S PURPOSE IN LIFE

Knowing my purpose in life primarily involves knowing God and understanding God for my mortal existence is not accounted by my physical or intellectual work. I have no existence in this physical world if I do not experience God’s Grace, Mercy, and Compassion. I have no choice other than that of praising the LORD if I am able to think and act in the natural world. In words of Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Church in Corinth, I submit:

“Therefore as it is written,

‘Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.'” (1 CORINTHIANS 1:31)

or the rich man boast of his riches,

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: The benefits of Sixth-Day Adventist Positive Work Culture. This article is dedicated to the loving memory of Jessica Cole of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Bangalore (Bengaluru), India

This article is dedicated to the loving memory of Jessica Cole, my relative who lived in Bangalore (Bengaluru), India as a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She inspires me to formulate the Sixth-Day Adventist Positive Work Culture.

Sixth-Day Adventist vs Seventh-Day Adventist: God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s Rest on the Seventh Day

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s Rest on the Seventh Day

Man has come to know about God for God worked for Six Days before He declared His Essence. I can describe my essence (What I am) if and only if it is preceded by my existence (What I do). While existing in the earthly realm, my claims about my true essence, that which makes what I am, true substance underlying my physical manifestation, the most important quality of my human form, exists only in the language it is expressed, or in the mind in which it is conceived. My claims about my essence will be valid if it has correspondence with an external reality.

Sixth-Day Adventist Work Culture vs Seventh-Day Adventist Sabbath Culture

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – The Sabbath is made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Sixth-Day Adventist vs Seventh-Day Adventist. The formula for Positive Work Culture.

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s Rest on the Seventh Day

In my view, the ‘Essence’ and ‘Identity’ of a thing can be described if, and only if the thing had a past ‘Existence’, or is existing in the present, or has the potential ability to exist in the future. Essence and Identity are predetermined by the requirement called ‘Existence’.

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s Rest on the Seventh Day

Existence becomes the defining feature or chief attribute of all things. And, without the fact or reality called Existence, no truth can be known, and things have no Identity or Essence.

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s rest on the Seventh Day

The word ‘Essence’ (Latin. Essentia) describes that something which makes an entity what it is; intrinsic, fundamental nature, the most important quality of something to constitute its essential being. Essence is used to describe the inward nature of anything that is important to know its manifestations that can be physically observed. The word ‘Spirit’ or ‘Soul’ are often used to describe the ‘true’ or unchanging principle of man for man’s physical identity is not constant.

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s Rest on the Seventh Day

The term ‘Identity’ (Latin. idem) means the same (Sanskrit. idam). The Latin word identitas is related to Latin. essentitas and hence Identity and Essence are always related and they help to know the thing or entity that they describe.  Identity is about the condition or fact of being the same, or exactly alike, sameness or oneness.

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – God’s Work for Six Days precede God’s rest on the Seventh Day

In modern times, identity is about the condition or fact of being a specific person or thing. Whereas the term ‘Individuality’ describes the sum of characteristics or qualities that set one person or thing apart from others. Individuality is the condition of the Individual who exists as a single, separate, or particular thing. For man, his Individuality sets him apart from all other men. The term ‘Existence’ (Latin. existere, or exsistere) is about the act of existing, the state, or the fact, or the reality of actual being. Existence demands that the thing or entity must come forth, stand forth, to manifest, living, or being alive. The term ‘Unity’ implies the state of being united to make something complete in itself, the quality or fact of being a totality or ‘Whole’. Unity is used to signify a Complex, the product of a Union of related parts, or an arrangement of parts that will produce a single, harmonious effect. Unity is thus concerned about the ‘Effect’ it generates while a thing could be made up of diverse elements or individuals. For human body is constituted by trillions of Individual, and Independent Living Units called Cells, the ‘Effect’ called ‘Unity’ is of fundamental importance to know man’s Essence, or Identity that is manifested by his Existence.

Existence (What you do) always precedes Essence (What you are). What God did for Six Days is the fundamental basis for knowing God’s Essence. The Seventh-Day Adventism fails to guide man to Work for Six Days in commemoration of God’s Work for Six Days. For a true Adventist, the preparation for the Second Coming involves working for Six Days rather than laying emphasis on the Seventh-Day.

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – The Sabbath is made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath” (Mark 2:27). These words of the Savior remind us that the Sabbath day was meant to be a blessing rather than a burden to those who observe it.

The Concept of Positive Sixth-Day Adventist Work Culture is inspired by God’s Work Week:

Whole Dude – Whole Work – Whole Adventist: Sixth-Day Adventism – The Sabbath is made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

The details of God’s Work Week are vividly described in Genesis, Chapter 1.

Six is a number perfect in itself. God created the world and the man in Six Days because this number is perfect. For that reason, the man must also choose a Six-Day Work Week.

Informed Consent For the Michigan Medicine AHEAD 3-45 Study Screening Procedures

University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine must reject the concept of Race and Ethnicity to describe Asian/Indian Identity

On Tuesday, December 05, 2023, I signed the Informed Consent Form for the AHEAD 3-45 Study Screening Procedures. Reference: UM eResearch ID: HUM00178622; NIA & Eisai Inc. / Protocol Number BAN2401-G000-303

I was informed about an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and was instructed to contact the Study Subject Adviser, Advarra IRB to report my concerns or complaints regarding this research study. I contacted Advarra IRB on December 28 to share my concerns about my exclusion from the study due to the problem of Selection Bias. The following is a copy of that communication sent to the Study Subject Adviser:

Dear Study Subject Adviser,

REFERENCE NUMBER: Pro00041484

As a research participant, I am investigating the problem of Selection Bias in the Selection Process used by the Research Investigator at University of Michigan.

I am informed that I am excluded from further participation in this Study and I want to verify the results of the blood and urine samples I provided on December 05, 2023 to ascertain the fact of my exclusion from the Study is consistent with the Research Protocol for which I have given my written consent.

In any case, I shall hold University of Michigan to its primary responsibility to share the lab test results for it has issued me a Medical Registration Number and informed me about this Hospital Appointment and provided me the assurance that the lab results will be shared with the patient.

Whole Dude – Whole Bias

University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine must reject the concept of Race and Ethnicity to describe Asian/Indian Identity

Selection bias refers to systematic differences between baseline characteristics of the groups that are compared. The unique strength of randomization is that, if successfully accomplished, it prevents selection bias in allocating interventions to participants.  Its success in this respect depends on fulfilling several interrelated processes.  A rule for allocating interventions to participants must be specified, based on some chance (random) process. We call this sequence generation. Furthermore, steps must be taken to secure strict implementation of that schedule of random assignments by preventing foreknowledge of the forthcoming allocations. This process if often termed allocation concealment, although could more accurately be described as allocation sequence concealment. Thus, one suitable method for assigning interventions would be to use a simple random (and therefore unpredictable) sequence, and to conceal the upcoming allocations from those involved in enrolment into the trial.

University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine must learn that there is no human race called Indian

Excerpt: The Michigan Medicine AHEAD study is examining the efficacy of a medication aimed at preventing Alzheimer’s Disease in individuals at increased risk of developing the disease. The study has, however, faced criticism regarding its focus on years of schooling and its lack of a research protocol to verify the identity and individuality of the human organism. Critics assert that biological processes like the flow of biological information and protein synthesis are not influenced by education level and that individuality should not be tied to factors such as race and ethnicity. The conceptualization of “life as knowledge in action” and that it is an interplay of cellular function and knowledge must be explored.

My reply to the automated response sent by Advarra Adviser (IRB):

Thanks for your email. My concern is about the research protocol for which the research scientist obtained my written consent. I am not asking you about the Consent Form Questions. I am asking you to verify the legitimacy of the Research Project to ask the Questions on the Consent Form. Firstly, the AHEAD Study did not disclose that the Study is constructed on the basis of creating a profile information of each research subject. Secondly, the Questions asked have no scientific validity; the information provided has no relevance to the study of this investigational drug. It seems that there is some other agenda is at work to use this research to gather information about research subjects without any concern for the randomization of the selection of research subjects. The Selection Bias is inherent in the Selection process for it is gathering information of its human subjects outsides the boundaries of the declared purpose of the Study.

The AHEAD Study is researching the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in people who might be at increased risk for developing memory loss associated with Alzheimer’s Disease. The study is looking for participants age 55-80 years old, who have generally normal memory function in daily life, and who are not being treated for memory problems. For individuals age 55-64 years old, an additional risk factor is required, such as a parent or sibling with Alzheimer’s Disease or previous biomarker testing showing increased risk for developing Alzheimer’s Disease. This study sees participants in Ann Arbor. Contact Lauren Mackenzie at spearsl@med.umich.edu or 734-232-2415.

On Tuesday, December 05, 2023, at the Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) at the Cardiovascular Center (CVC), I was interviewed for participating in the AHEAD Study and I completed the Stage 1A of the Screening process. I am asked to provide information about the most important occupation of my life, my sexual orientation, my race and ethnicity,  my place of birth and the country of origin, the total number of years I spent in the School to register my personal identity for participation in the Medical Research Project. The Research Protocol has not identified the basis for discovering the identity of a multicellular human organism. I can answer the questions I am asked. Do I have the ability to communicate my answers to the cells of my own body and reflect that identity in the living functions they perform to keep me alive?

Racial and Ethnic Differences in Plasma Biomarker Eligibility in a Preclinical Alzheimer’s Disease Trial

DOI:10.1002/alz.083020

Authors: Doris P. Molina-Henry, Rema Raman, Andy Lou, Oliver Langford and others, University of Southern California

Abstract:

Background: In Alzheimer’s disease (AD) trials, differential screen failure due to cognitive and biomarker requirements may contribute to underrepresentation of racially and ethnically minoritized groups. The AHEAD 3‐45 Study (NCT04468659) is an ongoing program testing lecanemab at the stage of preclinical AD that utilizes plasma biomarker prescreening, acquired before cognitive, clinical, and medical history eligibility assessments, to enrich for participants likely to qualify based on amyloid PET eligibility criteria. Methods: We examined the frequency of plasma amyloid biomarker eligibility among racial and ethnic groups in the AHEAD Study. We assigned participants ages 55‐80 to mutually exclusive groups: Hispanic Black (HB), Hispanic White (HW), Non‐Hispanic Asian (NHA), Non‐Hispanic Black (NHB), and Non‐Hispanic White (NHW). We used univariate logistic regression models to explore group differences in screen failure rates as determined by an algorithm that includes the plasma Aβ 42/40 ratio, age, and APOE status. The algorithm indicates an adequately high probability of elevated brain amyloid (>20 centiloids). We further explored whether APOE ε4 status (carrier vs non‐carrier) contributed to group differences. Results Among 4274 participants undergoing plasma screening, 59 (1.4%) were HB, 622 (14.6%) were HW, 74 (1.73%) were NHA, 329 (7.7%) were NHB, and 3190 (74.6%) were NHW. Screen failure rates were 86% for HB, 76% for HW; 80% for NHA; 77% for NHB, and 62% for NHW. Using NHW participants as a reference group, we observed increased odds of screen failure among all other groups (HB OR = 4.0 95% CI 2.0, 9.1; HW OR = 2.0 95% CI 1.6, 2.4; NHA OR = 2.5 95% CI 1.4, 4.5; NHB OR = 2.1, 95% CI 1.6, 2.7). Observed differences were consistent across APOE ε4 carriers and non‐carriers. Conclusion: Differential rates of amyloid eligibility were observed despite the lack of systematic sample bias due to clinical or cognitive requirements observed in previous studies. Potential explanations for these observations include differences in clinical trial access, incidences of elevated amyloid, needed cutoffs for biomarker assays, and confounding due to comorbidities or other unmeasured covariates. Disparities by Race and Ethnicity Among Adults Recruited for a Preclinical Alzheimer Disease Trial

Rema Raman, PhD1Yakeel T. Quiroz, PhD2,3Oliver Langford, MS1et al

Key Points

Question:  Are there racial/ethnic differences associated with recruitment sources and reasons for ineligibility among preclinical Alzheimer disease clinical trial participants?

Findings:  In this cross-sectional study of screening data for 5945 participants from a preclinical Alzheimer disease trial, Black, Hispanic, and Asian participants were recruited from local efforts compared with White participants who were recruited from more distributed efforts. Adjusted analysis showed that underrepresented racial/ethnic communities were more likely to be ineligible after the first screening visit.

Meaning:  These findings suggest that there are racial and ethnic disparities in preclinical AD clinical trial enrollment that will require a comprehensive approach to study design and recruitment strategies to minimize disproportionate enrollment.

Abstract

Importance:  Underrepresentation of many racial/ethnic groups in Alzheimer disease (AD) clinical trials limits generalizability of results and hinders opportunities to examine potential effect modification of candidate treatments.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. The Nation remembers its beloved leader 25 years after her assassination.

25 years ago, on October 31, 1984, Mrs. Indira Gandhi was brutally assassinated by her own bodyguards. The Nation has recently mourned her death and has also celebrated her 92nd Birth Anniversary.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: On September 18, 1983, a tiny flame got extinguished; a spirit got crushed at South Block, the Secretariat Building, New Delhi.

A year before her assassination, on September 18, 1983, Srimati. Indira Gandhi was unaware of the fact that a tiny flame got extinguished; a  spirit  got crushed at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, South Block, the Secretariat Building in New Delhi. The Prime Minister’s office is also in the same building. I would like to share that story; the story about a young Medical Officer who joined the Army Medical Corps with a spirit to serve the Nation. The top bureaucrat of the Army Medical Corps chose to use his power and position to kill the spirit of this Junior Officer in broad daylight. The story begins and ends during the years Srimati. Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India.

This story narrates events in the course of my life’s journey and it does not mean that it pertains to past. These events belong to the life of the Nation. The entity called Nation has a life and has an existence of its own. As long as this entity known to us as Bharat or India exists, this story remains relevant and it cannot be buried as the remains of an individual’s past life. As long as I am alive, I would keep my memory alive and I will ask the Nation to read pages from its own life.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life.THE NATIONAL SPIRIT – A TINY FLAME GOT EXTINGUISHED. This Flame represents the ‘National Spirit’ of a Junior Officer who was serving in the Indian Army Medical Corps. This Flame got extinguished not because of Enemy Action.

The top bureaucrats in 1983 were not able to grasp any ethical considerations. A sense of objectivity got lost and only the sense of self-preservation characterized the actions of top ranking officials. Srimati. Indira Gandhi paid a very heavy price because of the trust she had placed in some of these career opportunists who had no real interest in serving the Nation.

The Spirit of Indian Nationalism:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. I grew up in the post-independence era of a newly born Nation and was inspired by the Father of the Nation to seek National Identity and National Individuality.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. I grew up as a kid drawing inspiration from India’s First Prime Minister to express my sense of loyalty and allegiance to a Nation called the Republic of Bharat or India.

On November 14, 1958, I was a student at Danavaipeta Municipal High School, Rajahmundry when we first celebrated the Children’s Day. The School had received a brand new Public Announcement System and I gave a very inspired and eloquent speech during the School Assembly and had expressed my love and a sense of attachment to Prime Minister Nehru. During 1962, Prime Minister Nehru visited Nizamabad District to inaugurate the irrigation project at Pochampadu on the banks of River Godavari. Government Giriraj Arts College, Nizamabad had declared a Holiday. Myself, my father R. Suryanarayana Murthy who was then the Principal of that college, many of Staff Members and students converged at that venue in show of our love and admiration for Prime Minister Nehru.

THE CHINESE AGGRESSION AND THE INDIAN ARMY’S DEFEAT IN 1962. I RECOGNIZED THAT INDIA MUST GET UNITED TO OPPOSE FOREIGN INVASION AND CONQUEST.

During 1962, in the wake of massive brutal attack by Communist China across the Himalayan frontier, I developed a wish to serve in the Indian Army which had experienced a very humiliating defeat. I was a student at Government Giriraj Arts College, Nizamabad. From 1962 to 1965, I had participated in the National Cadet Corps training, but I was not sure as to how I can to get into Army Service.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. On January 24, 1966, Indira Gandhi became the First Woman Prime Minister of India heralding the Dawn of a New Era in India’s National Life.

I was a second year M.B.B.S. (First M.B.B.S. Part III) student at Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool when Srimati. Indira Gandhi was chosen as the third Prime Minister of India. She had symbolized the spirit of Indian Nationalism. She had transcended the limitations imposed by deriving identity based upon region, religion, caste, and language. I was instantly attracted by the charisma of her personality which portrayed my vision of National Unity.

I sent her a letter in my hand writing expressing my sense of pleasure for her appointment as the Prime Minister. She had graciously sent me a reply. In the year 1967, I met her at her official residence in New Delhi along with a batch of Student Delegates attending a National Student Seminar on National Integration. This four-week long Seminar was sponsored by Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, International Youth Center, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life: The National Student Seminar on National Integration organized by Vishwa Yuvak Kendra during June 1967 gave me the opportunity to declare that Indian people must come together and foster National Unity based upon a sense of devotion to the Nation and must not get distracted by an Identity that could be derived from a sense of social affiliation or association that is related to a person’s attachment to a particular region, religion, language, and caste. I had advocated that men must seek marital social relationships based upon National Identity and not that of Caste Identity.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. Srimati. Indira Gandhi – A symbol of National Unity and a call for National Integration.

National Integration represents the idea of people of all regions and religions coming together, to work together, and to participate in National Affairs as equals. During 1969, a team of Army Medical Corps Officers had arrived at Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool to conduct interviews for selection of Final Year M.B.B.S. students for the grant of Short Service Regular Commission. Myself, and another student by name Ahmad Vali Jan got selected in the interview but he opted out. I was granted the rank of Second Lieutenant. I made this deliberate choice to join the Indian Army Medical Corps to serve the Nation and to take part in National Affairs to the fullest extent that could be possible.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life: The decision to serve in Indian Army Medical Corps was made at Kurnool and I was granted Short Service Regular Commission in the rank of Second Lieutenant after an interview conducted at the Principal’s Office in the Administrative Block of Kurnool Medical College. Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life: I will give the entire credit to Dr. Sripada Pinakapani, M.D., who served as Professor of Medicine and  the Superintendent of Kurnool Government General Hospital until his retirement during August 1968, for his initiative to Extinguish the Spirit of Nationalism that I displayed while I was a student at Kurnool Medical College. He opposed my idea of ignoring my Brahmin Caste Identity to formulate a marital social relationship based upon a National Identity. He influenced my paternal uncle, Dr. R. Anjaneyulu, M.D., D.G.O., Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, B.J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospitals, Pune and he directed him to use his social contacts with Senior Army Medical Corps Officials at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune to defeat my intention to have a marital relationship with a person who does not belong to the Brahmin Caste. This threat was communicated to me verbally and in a  personal letter that was sent to my father who was asked to deliver the threat to me. I had to relent and delayed my plans for marriage in a bid to avoid this confrontation. I was allowed to join the Indian Army during July 1970 after obtaining my M.B.B.S. degree with the expectation that I would not compromise my Brahmin Caste Identity.

On Saturday, July 26, 1970, I reported for duty at Officers Training School, Army Medical Corps Centre & School in Lucknow to attend the BMOC 20/70 Training Course. I completed my medical internship training in Military Hospital, Ambala Cantonment in July 1971 and was fully ready for my role as a Medical Officer to provide medical care and support to our troops. Indeed, the opportunity to serve the Nation came to be true to my desire and my expectations.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. MS-8466 CAPTAIN R.R. NARASIMHAM,AMC/SSC. During the 1971 War, at a critical juncture, as the Unit waited for Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s decision, this Medical Officer acted with decisive Courage inside the enemy territory and had accomplished his military Mission. The Medal Known as ‘POORVI STAR’ symbolizes India’s victory in Indo-Pak War of 1971.

The Sweetest Moment of my Military Service:

The Sweetest Moment of my Military Career – I experienced a very Sweet moment called “MADHURYA” when I medically evacuated my battle casualties from the helipad at Borunasury (BONAPANSURIA), a Border Security Force Post in Mizo Hills after capturing the first enemy position during the 1971 War.

The Medical Directorate at the Indian Army Headquarters had failed to process the citation that was forwarded to them by my South Column Unit which took part in the Chittagong Hill Tracts military operation. I was recommended the Gallantry Award of ‘VIR CHAKRA’ and I was the only Officer in my Unit who had not received the Award for which the Unit had submitted a citation. However, I had enhanced the prestige of Army Medical Corps and for the first time in the history of the Army Medical Corps; I had performed the duties of a Medical officer, a Nursing Assistant, and an Ambulance Assistant while medically evacuating critically wounded soldiers; marching in a remote, roadless, forest terrain for over forty miles and I had maintained the patients in a stable condition throughout the difficult land journey. I was overjoyed by this uplifting experience. My patients had survived their battle injuries. I narrated this story to the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services in an interview that was held in September 1972 at the Headquarters Ministry of Defence, New Delhi and I was granted Direct Permanent Commission in the Army Medical Corps just based upon the powerful story that I had narrated to the DGAFMS.

This Medal known as Sangram Medal symbolizes my transition from Short Service Commission to that of Direct Permanent Commission. President V.V. Giri under his signature granted me the Short Service Regular Commission. President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy signed and proclaimed the grant of Permanent Commission. I was connected to these two National Leaders from my early childhood days spent in Madras before the formation of the State of Andhra and later Andhra Pradesh.

The Proudest Moment of my Military Career:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life: Special Frontier Force – Lohit River: Walong War Memorial

“The Sentinel Hills that round us stand

Bear witness that we loved our Land;

Amidst shattered rocks and flaming Pine,

We fought and died on Namti Plain.

O’ Lohit gently by us glide,

Pale stars above us softly shine,

As we sleep here in Sun and rain.”( Poem composed by Bernard S Dougal, Deputy Commissioner )

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. This Medal known as ‘Sainya Seva Medal’ with ‘NEFA’ clasp speaks of the time I spent serving in the North East Frontier Agency, now known as Arunachal Pradesh.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. Special Service Award presented by all Officers D Sector, Establishment 22

During 1962, Indian Army resisted the Chinese aggression and the men gave their lives defending Walong. During 1972, I had the good fortune to visit the War Memorial and filled up my heart with a sense of pride. There is Dignity and Honour in fighting for the Nation and in resisting the enemy. I received the 25th Independence Anniversary Medal during the 25th year of my life’s journey and I received the Medal as a Blessing. Pride is not defined by Victory or Defeat in the Battle. I display PRIDE in resisting the enemy and in defending my territory; victory and defeat are shaped by forces beyond my control.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. 25th Independence Anniversary Medal symbolizes my desire to serve the Nation with DISCIPLINE, DIGNITY, AND HONOUR.

India Enters the Nuclear Era:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. During 1974, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi made the bold decision to test a nuclear device at Pokhran, Rajasthan.

I fully support India’s decision to test a nuclear device and defend our National interests, and our territorial integrity. During 1979, while taking part in a military exercise, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the test site at Pokhran in Rajasthan State.

The Unholy Brahmin Alliance in Pune: I was backstabbed at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune:

THE UNHOLY BRAHMIN ALLIANCE AT PUNE: I attended ‘The Advanced Training in Paediatrics Course at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune from December 1975 to April 1976. At that time Major General B D P Rao was the Commandant of AFMC Pune. To my personal misfortune, the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Pune University was also a Brahmin. The Unholy Brahmin Alliance buried my career in the Indian Army Medical Corps without giving any further chance to improve my professional qualification.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life: This is the photo image of the letter that was sent to Pune University communicating the fact of my disqualification (Advanced Training in Paediatrics Course) in a Screening Examination that was held at AFMC Pune during April, 1976. I am not blaming Lieutenant Colonel S P Kalra, the Chief of the Department of Paediatrics for this disqualification. He had disqualified me in one component of the Screening Examination, the Oral test he had given. He had no control or jurisdictional power over the results of the other two components (Written Examination and Practical Examination) of the Screening Examination. He had simply reacted to the rudeness displayed by the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Pune University to a simple request that I had communicated to the Dean on behalf of Naval Army Medical Corps Officer Captain Sachdeva, the Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, AFMC Pune.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College Pune – The Unholy Brahmin Alliance at Pune : The Disgraceful, Dishonest, and Infamous Phone Conversation between two Brahmins of Pune recorded during April, 1976; 1. The Commandant of AFMC Pune, and 2. The Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Pune University, the Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, B. J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospitals Pune. I heard this Phone Conversation at my paternal Uncle’s Office in the Sassoon Hospitals. Both parties of this phone conversation had agreed to share lies about the results of the Screening Examination that was held at AFMC Pune during April 1976 and both had agreed not to further investigate the matter and ascertain the real facts about the assessment of my performance in the Written and Practical Components of this Screening Examination. Both the parties knew the reason for Lieutenant Colonel S P Kalra’s displeasure and had decided not to intervene and provide him with a reasonable response to a simple, verbal request that he had asked me to communicate to my Uncle, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Pune University.

Major General B D P Rao was the Commandant at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune while I attended the ‘Advanced Training in Paediatrics Course from December 1975 to April 1976. He had literally backstabbed me by falsifying my performance sheet and had lied about the results of my performance in the Screening Examination. Group Captain Krishnamurthy, the Additional Professor of Medicine who acted as the Chief Examiner for the Screening Examination had personally expressed his sense of utter remorse and he was shocked beyond belief that I was not allowed to continue my ‘Advanced Training in Paediatrics’ Course.  I was most unceremoniously got kicked out of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and was posted out. Group Captain Krishnamurthy was not only satisfied with my performance, but also he had actually communicated the results of my performance to my paternal uncle (Dr. Rebbapragada. Anjaneyulu, M.D. Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, B.J. Medical College, and The Sassoon General Hospitals, Pune) who was then serving as the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Pune University. In my presence, as I was closely listening to the phone conversation, my uncle had called Major General BDP Rao and had questioned him about his decision to disqualify me from the Advanced Training Course in Paediatrics. The General made a statement about my performance over the phone and stated that I had failed in the written examination, practical examination, and the oral test. Group Captain Krishnamurthy, the Additional Professor of Medicine who had actually evaluated my performance in the written examination, and had conducted my practical examination had directly admitted to me that there was no justification to disqualify me in those areas where he was responsible for the evaluation work. I was hurt, the wounds did not kill my spirit to continue in Service.  I did not demand a Court of Inquiry to prove the guilt of Major General BDP Rao who belonged to my South Indian Brahmin community. I have very specific reasons to call him a ‘BACKSTABBER’. Major General B D P Rao’s daughter (Captain Uma Ramachandran) had also attended the same Advanced Training Course in Paediatrics and she was present when Group Captain Krishnamurthy openly announced to the entire batch of AMC Officers claiming that I scored the highest marks in the Written part of the Screening Examination. Before this Screening Examination, while serving at the Military Hospital Wing of Headquarters Establishment no.22, I performed the duties of the Medical Specialist, and later also of the Surgical Specialist when these Specialist Officers availed their two months annual leave. When these Specialists proceed on casual leave, I used to provide cover at their respective departments. The Units where I served have immensely valued my professional service and the appreciation was duly recorded in my Annual Confidential Reports. Prior to the Screening Examination, the Department of Medicine conducted an Interim Test and I stood first in the entire batch of AMC Officers getting  trained by the Department of Medicine at AFMC, Pune. The results of this Interim Test were publicly announced in the class room by Major Kalipatnam Seshagiri Rao AMC, a Staff Member of the Department of Paediatrics. Captain Uma Ramachandran, was also present in the class room during this announcement. All this Record of Service and performance did not help me to receive a fair chance to complete my Advanced Training. General B.D.P.Rao may have never believed in serving the Nation and was a mere  career opportunist who got promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General . His departure from  Armed Forces Medical College, Pune  gave me an opportunity to show and to prove my academic merit. My failure in the Screening Examination and the Disqualification in the Advanced Training in Paediatrics Course 76 is entered into my Record of Service and hence this information is Private and is Confidential. However, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune chose to dishonour this Rule of Confidentiality and has openly communicated my Failure in the Screening Examination to The Registrar, University of Pune, Ganeshkhind, Pune-7  by sending him Letter No. 3410/Gen/76 dated 11 May 76. The Registrar, University of Pune has no Right to this Private and Confidential information about my Performance in a Training Program conducted by Indian Army. Armed Forces Medical College, Pune has acted in a reckless manner causing a Breach of my Privilege. I have not given permission to Armed Forces Medical College to disclose the information from my Record of Service. Hence, I would openly demand and ask the Government of India, Ministry of Defence to remove the information that pertains to the Advanced Training in Paediatrics Course 1976 from my Record of Service. Armed Forces Medical College, Pune must be suitably warned and be directed to avoid such violations in the future.

On 11 May 1976, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune has violated the Rights of Indian Army Medical Corps Commissioned Officers. Officers have the Rights to keep information in their Record of Service as Private and Confidential. I would openly demand Government of India, Ministry of Defence to exclude this information about my Performance in the Screening Examination from my Record of Service. Armed Forces Medical College, Pune must be warned and be directed to avoid such Violations in the future.

The Award of The Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services Silver Medal in 1976:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. I attended the Medical Officers Junior Command Course (MOJC) No. 67/76 at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune from June to September 1976.

I was posted to First Armoured Division after my disqualification in ‘The Advanced Training in Paediatrics’ Course in April 1976. In June 1976, I again went back to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune to attend the Medical Officers Junior Command Course (MOJC 67/76). Major General Daryao Singh was the Commandant at AFMC, Pune. He awarded me Grade ‘A’ for my performance in this Course. Later, Lieutenant General R.S. Hoon, the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services invited me to come to Pune and receive the DGAFMS Silver Medal. I attended the Awards Function held at AFMC, Pune along with my wife and daughter and received this Silver Medal. My name as a recipient of the DGAFMS Medal in 1976 is displayed both at AFMC, Pune and at AMC Centre and School in Lucknow.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. THE DGAFMS MEDAL AWARDED BY ARMED FORCES MEDICAL COLLEGE, POONA
Apart from awarding this DGAFMS MEDAL in the Medical Officers Junior Command Course-67 held in 1976, The Commandant, the Professor of Medicine, the Professor of Pathology, and the Professor of Social & Preventive Medicine at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune gave a written recommendation that I should be allowed to undergo Training in Paediatrics. Based upon this strong written recommendation, I reapplied for Advanced Training in Paediatrics during 1977 and my application was rejected by Lieutenant General BDP Rao.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. 67 Medical Officers’ Junior Command Course Report from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.
Major General Daryao Singh, AMC, Commandant of Armed Forces Medical College, AFMC Pune had strongly recommended my name on 11 October 1976 for attending Advanced Training in Paediatrics. Professor of Medicine, Professor of Surgery, Professor of Pathology, and Professor of Preventive Medicine had remarked that I would do well as a Specialist and had noted my interest in Paediatrics. They had personally interviewed me and had evaluated my performance during the MOJC Course.
I applied for Advanced Specialist Training in Paediatrics during 1977-79. My application was Strongly Recommended by all Reviewing Officers along the entire length of the Chain of Command. My application was rejected. On 22 October 1977, I submitted a Non-Statutory Complaint against this decision. On 8 December 1977, the Director of Medical Services, Army Headquarters had simply informed me that my Complaint was rejected. No reason was stated. I had no answer about my non-selection for the Specialist Training Course. While rejecting my Complaint, the Director of Medical Services (Army) also made a very surprising decision. The Director also disallowed MR-3363 Captain K VAIDYA from attending the Advanced Specialist Training in Pathology Course 1977-79 after selecting him for that Course. Captain K Vaidya’s name also appears in the letter dated 11 May 1976, the letter sent by Armed Forces Medical College, Pune to The Registrar, University of Pune informing that he had failed in the Screening Examination held in April 1976. I never wanted to harm Captain K Vaidya. The action to reject my Complaint was validated by disallowing Capt K Vaidya from attending the Pathology Training Course. Lieutenant General BDP Rao and Brigadier VVS Pratap Rao during 1977 conspired to exclude my name during the Selection process and obstructed me from attending the Training Course in Paediatrics and Captain K Vaidya became a victim of this Conspiracy.

The Political Eclipse and the Triumphant Return of Mrs. Indira Gandhi:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. The Political Eclipse and the Triumphant Return of Indira Gandhi.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. This Nine Years Long Service Medal was awarded to me after Indira Gandhi’s triumphant return to power in 1980 .

During my military service, Srimati. Indira Gandhi lost her political power for a period of three years from 1977 to 1980. From 1976 to December 1978 I served in First Armoured Division under the command of Major General K S Sundarji and have known his personal qualities as a military Commander.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. The ambition for promotions and the career oppotunism of this Military Commander may have played a role in the sad killing of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. She made a mistake in choosing him for execution of ‘Operation Blue Star’.

During December 1978, I was posted to Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad at the end of my tenure at First Armoured Division. I witnessed the tragic loss of Mrs. Padma Sundarji and shared my comments in a different blog post. While I was posted at First Armoured Division, I again tried to attend ‘The Advanced Training in Paediatrics Course’. Lieutenant General B.D.P. Rao, a fellow South Indian Brahmin continued to delight himself by denying me an opportunity to improve my professional qualification. I had filed a ‘Non-Statutory’ Complaint and it was rejected by the Chief of Army Staff based upon a recommendation given by the Director of Medical Services (Army) who had acted after consulting with the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services about my Non-Statutory Complaint. I did not bring this problem to the attention of the Defence Minister and had silently endured this insulting and prejudicial conduct to keep my Spirit alive to Serve the Country.

Telugu People Value Self-Respect and Dignity:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: The Burning Spirit of Nationalism was instrumental in all the major decisions of my Life. N.T.R. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao became the 10th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in January 1983.

I am not one of those Fan Club members. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was an advocate of the Cultural Identity of Telugu people and he had demanded the restoration of Self-Respect for Telugu people. I was amongst those people who had voted in favour of Telugu Desam Party which he created. My single vote did not put N.T.R. into the seat of power. My vote may have only symbolized a desire to take part in National Affairs while upholding the principle of Self-Respect and Personal Dignity. I was acutely aware of my own ill-treatment and I was deeply offended by the behaviour of the top bureaucrat of the Army Medical Corps. My applications for Study Leave were getting rejected without any reason.

A FLAME THAT GOT EXTINGUISHED AT SOUTH BLOCK, THE SECRETARIAT BUILDING, NEW DELHI:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: My first application dated January 17, 1983 to relinquish my Permanent Commission got rejected. While I was in New Delhi waiting to meet the Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Banerjee, the Director of Medical Services contacted me and had asked me to submit a fresh application. Fortunately, the Commandant of Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad was also camping in New Delhi to attend a meeting at this Secretariat Building. On September 17, 1983, on the front foot steps of this South Block Building facing Rajpath, the Commandant of Army Ordnance Corps Centre signed my application to relinquish my Permanent Commission in the Army Medical Corps. This application dated September 17, 1983 was directly submitted to the Director of Medical Services and was not processed through the normal Staff Channels. Next day on September 18, 1983, I had a personal interview with the Union Minister of State for Defence.

On January 17, 1983, while serving as the Senior Regimental Medical Officer at Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad, I submitted an application to Brigadier A M Bhattacharya, the Commandant of AOC Centre and sought his permission to relinquish my Permanent Commission in the Army Medical Corps. At that time, Lieutenant General V.V.S. Pratap Rao was the Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Services. General Rao had visited Military Hospital, Secunderabad during the 1982 AMC Day Celebration and had openly assured all the AMC Officers that he would support all Officers who would seek to relinquish their Commission. He did not view the job of AMC Officers in terms of a patriotic duty. I was personally frustrated as he would not allow me to improve my professional qualification and made me ineligible to seek any future Specialist Appointment in AMC. On the basis of his public assurance and his attitude about rendering Service to the Nation, I decided to quit this hopeless struggle of serving without any Self-Respect or Dignity. Meantime, AOC Centre had also received a transfer order that posted me to serve as a Medical Officer in a Medical Battalion, a Unit located in Mizoram. People at the AOC Centre who had known my Record of Service had immediately recognized that the posting order was issued to specifically undermine my ability to seek advancement in the military career and to deny an opportunity to give me substantial Service Experience. At its face value, the posting order intended to insult me for it shows no concern for my length of service and experience. The Commandant, AOC Centre, Secunderabad refused to serve me that unfair and unjust posting order and he did not ask me to move to the new station. AOC Centre, Secunderabad had simply refused to issue a ‘Movement Order’ and did not relieve me from my duties and responsibilities as the Senior Regimental Medical Officer. The Centre Commandant had very firmly insisted that the Medical Directorate must first decide on my application to leave army service. During 1983-84, Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad was my bastion of support and the Officers at the Centre united behind me and resisted the implementation of a transfer order which displayed all the characteristics of a foul play.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Recommendation of Brigadier AM Bhattacharya, Commandant AOC Centre, Secunderabad dated 19 January 1983. During September 1983, he served as the Commander of Central Ordnance Depot, Delhi. He personally briefed Lieutenant General Banerjee, Director of Medical Services (Army) about my personal interview with the Defence Minister on 18 September 1983 and he made arrangements to deliver my second application dated 17 September, 1983 direct to DMS (Army) Office in New Delhi.

Service With Pride and Honour:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Brigadier J Verghese, Commandant AOC Centre, Secunderabad was in New Delhi on 17 September 1983. He signed this document while standing in front of Ministry of Defence at South Block, the Secretariat Building in New Delhi.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Shri.Rebbapragada Ramananda Rao. He served as an Officer in the British Royal Navy and had Commanded British Naval Vessels during the Second World War and had taken part in Allied Forces Naval Operations in the Indian Ocean particularly attacking German submarines and escorting mercantile vessels from the Port of Aden to Bombay. He believed in Service with Pride, Dignity, and Honour. He helped me to resist the undignified behaviour displayed by General V.V.S. Pratap Rao, the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services during the year 1983. He had written letters and spoke to the Union Cabinet Ministers and to the Member of Parliament to support my application to relinquish my Permanent Commission in the Army Medical Corps.

General V.V.S.Pratap Rao refused to grant me permission to relinquish my Permanent Commission and had started demanding AOC Centre to implement the posting order that was issued to me. I decided to bring this issue to the attention of the Union Minister of State for Defence. Before I could get a chance to seek a formal interview with the Defence Minister, General Rao submitted my application to the Defence Minister and recommended to him to reject my resignation application. My request to leave Army Service got rejected and AOC Centre was again asked to implement my posting order to  that Medical Battalion. In an effort to uphold my personal dignity, and with help and support of my uncle (Shri. Rebbapragada. Ramanand Rao, Industrial Consultant), I contacted Shri. Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy who was then the Union Cabinet Minister for Shipping and Transport, Shri. Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah who was then the Union Minister of State for Home & Parliamentary Affairs, and Shri. R. Prabhu who was the Member of Parliament (7th Lok Sabha Member during 1983). All of them had strongly supported my view that I should demand to uphold my Self-Respect and personal dignity and asked me to oppose the illegal harassment that I was facing. Shri. Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah had also personally demanded General V.V.S. Pratap Rao to cancel the posting order that was issued. General Rao asked Lieutenant General Banerjee who was the Director of Medical Services (Army) during 1983 to cancel the posting order issued to me and at the same time he insisted that I should be reposted to the same Station in Mizoram but in a different capacity. The Director of Medical Services was not allowed to deal with my situation in any other manner. I was then posted to the Border Roads Organisation Task Force (CE Project Pushpak) located in Mizoram. Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad had again refused to issue a ‘Movement Order’ in compliance with this new posting order. The Director of Medical Services  had openly expressed his remorse about this interference in his duties and responsibilities and communicated his feelings to Brigadier A M Bhattacharya. Then, I decided to travel to New Delhi and speak directly to the Defence Minister about my application that I submitted on January 17, 1983. Shri. Kamakhya Prasad Singh Deo was the Union Minister of State for Defence. Shri. Singh Deo’s younger brother was serving as the Adjutant at 125 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) located at Trimulgherry, Secunderabad. This Territorial Army Unit was attached to the Medical Inspection Room of Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad. As the Medical Officer of this Territorial Army Unit I had provided them medical support and Lieutenant Colonel Ranjit S Grewal, the Commanding Officer of the Unit was very pleased with my services. Shri. Singh Deo’s younger brother helped me to plan my visit to New Delhi.

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: My personal interview with Shri.Kamakhya Prasad Singh Deo, Union Minister of State for Defence took place on September 18, 1983 in his office at Ministry of Defence, New Delhi. The Minister’s younger brother was serving as Adjutant at 125 Infantry Battalion (TA) in Secunderabad. This letter was issued to me by Lt Col Ranjit S Grewal, Commanding Officer, 125 Infantry Battalion (TA) on February 27, 1983 several months before my personal interview with the Defence Minister.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Shri.Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy, the Union Cabinet Minister for Shipping and Transport had arranged for my personal interview with the Union Minister of State for Defence on September 18, 1983.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Shri.Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah, the Union Minister of State for Home and Parliamentary Affairs arranged for my personal interview with the Union Minister of State for Defence on September 18, 1983.
Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Shri.PRABHU, R, the Member of 7th Lok Sabha spoke to Shri. K P Singh Deo, the Union Minister of State for Defence in support of my application to relinquish Permanent Commission.

The Assassination of the ‘Spirit’ of Indian Army Medical Corps Officer:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: Shri. K P Singh Deo, the Union Minister of State for Defence granted me a personal interview in his office on September 18, 1983 setting aside the Service Protocol.

My personal interview with Shri. K P Singh Deo was very frank and I made my case very clear. He did not suggest to me that I should continue to serve in the Army with a sense of patriotism. He did not speak about any National Spirit or Nationalism. He did not say a word to justify the actions of General V.V.S. Pratap Rao. Prior to this interview on September 18, 1983, Shri Singh Deo had specifically directed General V.V.S Pratap Rao to change the rules that had made me ineligible to seek Study Leave, and to seek Specialist Appointments. General Rao did not act upon the ruling in spite of very clear and specific instructions given by the Minister. General Rao had kept that ruling as a secret and did not communicate the orders issued by the Defence Minister to the Director of Medical Services. At the time of my personal interview, the Defence Minister was not aware of the fact that General Rao had deliberately concealed information that pertains to my application. General Rao had apparently desired to keep both of us in darkness at the time of this interview. I went to the interview with the assumption that the Defence Minister had failed to act upon my application. Shri. Singh Deo met me under the assumption that he had already taken action to resolve my concerns about Study Leave and Specialist Appointments and my professional growth in the Army Medical Corps. The Defence Minister may have believed that I have other personal reasons for relinquishing the Commission. I did not state any personal reasons in my first application but  I illustrated some of them in my second application dated September 17, 1983 and I had emphasized the fact that I want to serve with a sense of Pride and Honour and uphold the principles of Service Discipline. I joined the Army Medical Corps as a Final Year M.B.B.S. student with a spirit to serve the Nation and to participate in National Affairs with a sense of Pride and Self-Respect. It was not my intention to support myself or my family without upholding my dignity to wear Uniform and serve with a sense of Honour. The Minister accepted my request and I was granted the permission to relinquish my Permanent Commission and I was relieved of my duties on January 10, 1984 and I had lost no time and left Secunderabad immediately and departed from India. General V.V.S.Pratap Rao could not move me to Mizo Hills and I served at AOC Centre, Secunderabad until the morning of January 10, 1984. All of my statements could be verified from documents that are archived at Medical Personnel Records Section (Officers), Headquarters  Ministry of Defence, New Delhi.

The Assassination of the Prime Minister:

Whole Dude – Whole Flame: I received the tragic story of assassination of the Prime Minister while I was working in the Land Forces of Sultanate of Oman.

Srimati. Indira Gandhi had unfortunately trusted her top bureaucrats. I had known the personal qualities of Lieutenant General T S Oberoi who was serving as the General Officer  Commanding- in – Chief at Headquarters Southern Command, Pune during 1983. General Oberoi had also served as the Inspector General of Special Frontier Force after sucessfully Commanding the troops during the Indo-Pak War of 1971 in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The Operation Blue Star had involved the participation of Commandos of the Special Frontier Force. General T S Oberoi had deeply cared for his men under his Command. He would have executed that kind of difficult military mission with due care and concern for his men and also the civilians. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had failed to seek guidance from Lieutenant General T S Oberoi about the execution of Operation Blue Star. She did a mistake in not showing adequate trust and confidence in a senior Army Commander. Sikh Officers serving in Indian Armed Forces are members of  a National Service and we take pride in serving the Nation. During my service,  I have not seen any Sikh Officer or other rank displaying a clan mentality or a sectarian attitude.

This is a picture taken at Headquarters ‘D’ Sector, C/O 99 APO during 1972 before I had appeared in the AMC Examination of 1972 for the grant of Direct Permanent Commission in Army Medical Corps. At that time, I was serving in Assam and North East Frontier Agency(Arunachal Pradesh). This photo symbolizes National Unity. We are all partners in defending our Nation. Sikh Officers of Indian Armed Forces treated me with Love, Affection, and Respect. The ‘FLAME’, the Spirit to serve the Nation got Extinguished by a person who belonged to my clan and my Telugu Speaking, South Indian Brahmin Community.
Lt Gen T S Oberoi is seen wearing helmet in a picture taken in 1982. As Commander of Headquarters Establishment No. 22, he had served the Nation with great distinction during Indo-Pak War of 1971. He was promoted to the rank of Major General. He then replaced Major General Sujan Singh Uban,AVSM and became the Inspector General of Special Frontier Force while I had served there. I knew him well. As a Commander he had belonged to the men he had Commanded. He does not belong to a ‘sect’ or a ‘clan’. He belongs to the Nation. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi made a fatal mistake. If she had reposed her trust and confidence in General Tirat Singh Oberoi, the Story of Operation ‘Blue Star’ would have been different.
Indira Gandhi – A Flame that got Extinguished : The Spirit of Nationalism that I have nurtured as a student at Kurnool Medical College got extinguished during January 1984 and I had left India. The same year, Dr. Sripada Pinakapani, M.D. who had directly opposed my desire to serve the Nation received the award of PADMA BHUSHAN from India’s President Zail Singh.

This entry is dedicated to the memory of those brave men who gave their precious lives fighting the massive Chinese aggression in 1962. I experienced the traditional Indian hospitality at a forward Company location in Arunachal Pradesh (North East Frontier Agency) and my memories are fresh after a lapse of over 50 years and the reason is that I still feel the same passion to serve our men who fight for our country.

Whole Dude – Whole Guest: Defining Indian Identity – The Tradition of Hospitality. A view of Lohit River at Walong, Anjaw District.

In 1962 while the Chinese attacked India, I was a first year student studying for a Bachelor of Science degree (3- Year Bachelor’s Degree Course) at Government Giriraj Arts College, Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh. India was taken aback by this unprovoked and unexpected invasion across the Himalayan Frontier. There was a spontaneous reaction from people across our nation. Nizamabad was no exception and the Giriraj students took out a procession to condemn the enemy. I was not a student leader but I was the son of the Principal of the College. That placed me in the very first row of students who led the procession. At that time, I did not visualize myself that I would be wearing the Olive Green Indian Army Uniform.

Whole Dude – Whole Guest: Special Frontier Force – Lohit River: “WALONG WILL NEVER FALL AGAIN.”

By year 1972, I completed two years of service in Indian Army and the great moment in my life arrived when I stood before the War Memorial in WALONG. The following verses were inscribed on it:

The sentinel hills that round us stand

bear witness that we loved our land.

Amidst shattered rocks and flaming pine

We fought and died on Namti Plain.

O Lohit, gently by us glide

pale stars above us softly shine

as we sleep here in sun and rain.

Let us keep our collective memory afresh and pay tribute to these loyal sons of our land.

The Tradition of Hospitality in India:

Whole Dude – Whole Guest: Defining Indian Identity – The Tradition of Hospitality.

Hospitality is a fairly popular tradition for a variety of cultures across our globe. In India the tradition was well established a long time ago and we elevated it to a degree which may not be seen anywhere else in this world. The Vedic statement ” Athiti Devo Bhava ” is a thought that finds its expression only in our Land. The word ‘Athiti’ defines the guest as a person who could show up at your home without a prior notice or formal invitation and on a day and at a time of his own choice.

Whole Dude – Whole Guest: The Indian tradition of Hospitality.

Our literature is full of stories about this great tradition of hospitality and the episode described in the story of MAHA BHARATA shows the importance of preserving this tradition. Princess Draupadi was overwhelmed by the arrival of a large number of guests , while she and the Pandava Princes lost their kingdom and were living in the forest. She did not want to fail in her duty of being a good hostess. She was desperate and she met this challenge by earnestly praying to Lord Krishna. Upholding the principle of hospitality is very important to Lord Krishna and He gracefully provided the help Draupadi needed to serve her guests in accordance with our Dharma (Right Conduct). Her adherence to the tradition of hospitality truly defines the Indian Identity.

Most of you would have experienced some act of hospitality or the other and I want to narrate a simple act of hospitality that I experienced at CHINGAWANTY ( or CHIGWINTI ) in Arunachal Pradesh and would take this opportunity to speak of my memorable experience at this forward Company location and describe this as our Indian Identity.

The Tradition of Hospitality at Chingawanty (CHIGWINTI ):

Whole Dude – Whole Guest: Defining Indian Identity – The Tradition of Hospitality

The Company Commander Major.G B Valenkar was the recipient of VIR CHAKRA award for his role in Operation Eagle, the military action that initiated the Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971 with attacks on the enemy posts in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. During Operation Eagle, we had worked together in the South Column Unit under the Command of Lieutenant Colonel B K Narayan.

Major Valenkar briefed me about the traditional hospitality of the men of his Company. Before the dinner was served, he told me that the men would continue to serve food till such time I announce that I am fully satiated and that I need no further servings. Then, they would bring one more final serving to ensure that I am truly satiated and well fed. I wanted to test the men and find out for myself their devotion to their hospitality tradition. After dinner was announced, I mentioned my preference for bread.

Whole Dude – Whole Guest: Defining Indian Identity – The Tradition of Hospitality.

Instead of ‘chapatis’, I told the men hosting my dinner, that I would like to be served with poori (soft, fluffy, deep-fried Indian Bread) to go with my meal. The dishes were served piping hot and the fried poori were made one after the other and a fresh serving would arrive just before I would finish the previous serving. The food was delicious and the mountain weather was cool and refreshing and I was young and had a healthy appetite.  I continued eating while having a pleasant conversation with Major.Valenkar and after several servings, the man stood before me respectfully and asked me to grant him some additional time before he could bring forth the next serving. He mentioned that the cook had run out of the dough he had prepared for the evening meal. I responded saying that I really need no further servings and asked him not to bother about preparing more dough. The man submitted that it would not be fair on my part to stop him at that juncture and stated that I could only stop him from serving only at a time when he is able to provide more servings. In the Indian Hospitality tradition, the guest is also expected to give his host a reasonable opportunity to fulfill his obligation and the host has also a right to derive a sense of satisfaction by observing the rules of hospitality. I had to concede and in a little while, he resumed his service. After eating to my heart’s content, I told him that I am really satiated. He agreed to bring in the final serving and he passed in the test and he did not give up until he made sure that I am fed till such time that I am fully fed.

I am speaking of this hearty meal to just give you a chance to taste the passion that keeps us united and we relish the opportunity to serve our Land and defend its traditions of Valor and Hospitality.

Seva comes from the Sanskrit root sev-, “to serve”, and is a central concept in both contemporary Hinduism and Sikhism. In Hinduism, seva means selfless service and is often associated with karma yoga, disciplined action, and bhakti yoga, disciplined devotion.

SAINYA  SEVA MEDAL

The Government of India awards Sainya Seva  Medal to Service Personnel serving in Indian Armed Forces in recognition of ‘non-operational’ services under conditions of special hardship and severe climate. The bar or clasp shows the words ” NEFA ” in Hindi. To qualify for this award, an aggregate of one- year service in the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) is required. The Medal shows an image of Nanda Devi Himalayan mountain peak with a bamboo stand in the foreground.

REMEMBERING A WAR:THE 1962 INDIA-CHINA WAR: This is a photo image taken in 1972, ten years after the 1962 War, while I had proudly served the Nation in North East Frontier Agency. There was no schism or division among the Officers Corps. The Men and the Officers were totally united and were fully motivated to fight the Enemy and we had patrolled the border along the McMahon Line and went beyond the border for Operational reasons. There was no Fear and we were Prepared for the Challenge.

I am proud of my military service in North East Frontier Agency (renamed Arunachal Pradesh) for several reasons. These are;

Special Frontier Force – Sainya Seva Medal – Service Award without Service Weapon

In 1962, Communist China’s War of  Aggression across Himalayan Frontier motivated me to Resist, to Oppose and to Fight against Red China’s military threat posed from Occupied Tibet. 54 Years after the 1962 War, India is unwilling to part with her territory. India lost control of her territory in the Ladakh region as Tibet still remains under Chinese occupation.

REMEMBERING THE 1962 INDIA – CHINA WAR: The McMahon Line in India’s North East Frontier Agency or the State of Arunachal Pradesh. The Top Secret of 1962 War is the number of Chinese soldiers that were killed and injured during their military attack. Communist China must take courage and admit the true numbers. This War was not a total loss. India learned its lesson. We had a spectacular Military Victory in 1971 during our Bangladesh Liberation War.

Fortunately, in the North-East Himalayan Sector, India retains control over territory which we initially lost in the 1962 War. In 1972, I was very glad to serve in this area for one complete year and I could personally witness the fact that India is fully prepared to fight against Red China one more time. We are willing to do our best to keep ‘NEFA’ (Arunachal Pradesh) under our control whatever may be the Chinese threats protests, and claims to territory she calls “Southern Tibet.” China, apart from the illegal military occupation of Tibet, claims Indian territory publishing maps showing international borders. In recent years, China refused to issue a visa to an Officer of the Indian Administrative Service who had earlier served in this region.

The tensions still exist and I am glad for we are better prepared now and if war is inevitable, we welcome that challenge. To serve in NEFA, I was stationed at Doom Dooma, Tinsukia District, Assam. When I first arrived in Doom Dooma to join my Unit, the first thing that I was told by my Unit Adjutant was, ” Rudra, if you need a copy of your most recent photo, ask the Chinese Intelligence, and they could provide you one.” The Chinese Intelligence operatives or spies keep tabs on each Officer who is entering this area while keeping a close watch on our movements.

To my utter surprise, my Indian Army Picture ID Card stolen during 1972 resurfaces in the Indian Movie titled TE3N. Doomsayer of Doom Dooma earns Sainya Seva Medal – Service Award Without Service Weapon.

We are neither threatened nor intimidated by this kind of Chinese surveillance. We want to assure China that we will not be deterred by their superior Intelligence capabilities.

I arrived in Doom Dooma without my Service Weapon issued by Indian Army as I am expected to participate in operations not known to Indian Army.

My Unit in Doom Dooma is fully armed and equipped by the United States. While I arrived in Doom Dooma, US President Richard M. Nixon arrived in Peking seeking Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong’s hand in friendship.

I was not amused. I had no choice, no alternative for providing Military Service using the US Infantry Weapon for my personal protection. At Doom Dooma, I am predestined to oppose Red China without access to any Service Weapon. I moved around in NEFA performing military tasks sanctioned by my Unit without carrying any Military Weapon.

Indian Army’s Commitment to its Men:

Whole Dude – Whole Seva: In my analysis, the Service in Uniform is truly about Serving the Men who Defend our Nation with utmost Loyalty.

In the Indian Army, we take pride in looking after our men and very often we stretch ourselves to do our best to safeguard the welfare of our men even under the most difficult circumstances. And we maintain this attitude while extending help to others who may not be members of our Service.

I remember my visit to a Forward Company location when a Sub-Inspector of Police came to me asking for medical attention. He belonged to the Central Reserve Protection Force and was dispatched to this difficult area without any prior health screening. I will not be surprised if the same thing is happening today. We deploy police personnel to work in remote areas and we do not care and value their services. This Police Officer was not medically fit to serve in this area and no attempt was made to ascertain his physical fitness to perform the task for which he was sent. Fortunately, he survived the long trek and the very difficult and physically challenging climb to reach the Village where I am camping. The Village has a Government Clinic and as there was no Doctor posted at the Clinic, I was voluntarily providing services to all civilians residing in that area.

I examined him and found his blood pressure to be very high and he was at great risk of suffering from a stroke which could be fatal or cause paralysis. Apparently, he had undiagnosed high blood pressure for a long time and I could also find evidence that his kidneys were already damaged. To bring his blood pressure under control, he needed immediate hospital treatment and required emergency medical evacuation.

His Police Department never cared to inquire about his well-being before giving him the posting order. Whereas in the Armed Forces, we routinely interview the men and get them medically examined before they are sent to difficult areas.

I prepared a note about his medical condition and the Signal Company Operators immediately dispatched this message. Within minutes, my request for Emergency Medical Evacuation was approved. Doom Dooma Air Force Station was asked to send a helicopter. After a short while, I received a call from the helicopter pilot who spoke to me on his radio and informed me that he was sitting in his helicopter and was ready to take off as soon as the weather permits. That was a particularly, rainy and cloudy day with very poor visibility and the mission was really challenging. The pilot had assured me that he would fly in spite of all odds and would pick up my patient. The control tower was closely monitoring the clouds and they were waiting for a window of opportunity to make this trip while the cloud system moves through the mountain valley. He had asked me to keep the patient ready at the helipad and that he would not be able to spend even an extra minute on the ground.

Special Frontier Force – Sainya Seva Medal – Service Award without Service Weapon. Mi- 4 Helicopter provided airlift service for our operations in NEFA (Arunachal Pradesh)

Instantly, the whole scenario at my Company location got transformed. The day started on a very dull note. It was raining and there was dense fog. Suddenly, everybody got busy. As per standing orders, armed men were sent to secure our landing strip, weather signs were posted, the helipad was marked with fresh paint. Equipment for Fire-Fighting and Smoke Signaling were positioned on the ground. We erected a small shelter for the patient to rest while awaiting evacuation. A Sub-Inspector of Police suddenly became the focus of attention literally transforming him into a ‘VIP’ or Very Important Person. He was worried about his senior officers who dispatched him to this station. He was concerned that he might offend them by leaving his duty station without their prior permission. I reassured him and told him that the Indian Army would accept total responsibility for sending him to the hospital. I informed him that we value him and care for his well-being and that we would not expect any person to perform duty when their personal health is at risk.

The pilot made the bold trip as promised and safely transported him to Service Hospital at Air Force Station, Jorhat. The Sub-Inspector of Police told me that he would never forget this particular day of his life on which he could directly experience the sense of urgency with which we acted and treated him as if he is the most precious thing on earth.

I love the Service Award I earned at Doom Dooma without using any Service Weapon. I love Doom Dooma for the opportunity it gave to me to demonstrate my commitment to serve the men who serve our country without any concern for my personal safety.
