Whole Valentine – The celebration of Whole Love

The Celebration of Whole Love

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love.
Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love. Friday, February 14, 2025. Happy Valentine’s Day. Get involved to begin a new holiday tradition in America.

Saint Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14 and it has become a popular tradition to choose or to greet a sweetheart. But this concept of romantic interest in a person is more often related to a sexual attraction and the other attributes of ‘Whole Love’ such as trust, respect, and commitment may not be always present. Secondly, the tradition of Valentine’s Day is not related to the concept of God is Love.

"WHOLE

I am posting this article to make an open appeal to all the members of the US Congress to pass a decree or law to commence a new tradition in the national life that celebrates the central role of love in developing wholesome human relationships.

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love. Friday, February 14, 2025. Happy Valentine’s Day. Get involved to begin a new holiday tradition in America.. I ask Americans to begin a new holiday tradition to celebrate the proclamation of the Love Commandments. THIS IS AN OPEN APPEAL TO ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE US CONGRESS TO PASS A DECREE OR LAW TO BEGIN A NEW TRADITION IN THE NATIONAL LIFE THAT CELEBRATES THE CENTRAL ROLE OF LOVE IN DEVELOPING WHOLESOME HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS.

Love is central to man’s relationship to God and man’s relations with other persons. The term love includes the feelings or the emotion of love expressed by a person,”the Subject” and it involves a personal experience evoked in the Subject when another person”the Object” reflects the feelings of love. Love has to be known as “the Medium” that generates the attachment or devotion to another person; and this attachment implies connection by ties of affection, sexual attraction, devotion, friendship, goodwill, compassion, respect, trust, and commitment. This kind of care and concern for a person, or persons in a relationship could be called ‘Whole Love’ if whatever is done for Love occurs beyond good and evil.

WHOLE BODY - WHOLE LOVE - WHOLE HOLIDAY: GERMAN PHILOSOPHER FRIEDRICH WILHELM NIETZSCHE(1844-1900) HAD STATED: "WHAT IS DONE OUT OF LOVE ALWAYS TAKES PLACE BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL." GOD'S LOVE FOR MAN IS UNCONDITIONED.
GERMAN PHILOSOPHER FRIEDRICH WILHELM NIETZSCHE(1844-1900) SAYS, “WHAT IS DONE OUT OF LOVE ALWAYS TAKES PLACE BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL.” GOD’S LOVE FOR MAN IS UNCONDITIONED AND GOD LOVES MAN WITHOUT DEMANDING THAT MAN MUST ACKNOWLEDGE GOD’S LOVE..

The word Love does not appear in the Torah (Law) given to the Jews at Mount Sinai. I conducted a study of the holiday traditions of the US and I am totally surprised to note that there is no traditional celebration of the Proclamation of the two Great Love Commandments of Jesus. Jewish Holiday Shavout celebrates the giving of the Torah to the Jews. God gave the Ten Commandments (The Decalogue, The Code of The Ten Words) on the sixth night of the Hebrew month of ‘Sivan’. Shavuot always falls 50 days (Pentecost) after the second night of Passover. The 49 days between Passover and Shavuot are known as ‘Omer’.

CELEBRATION OF LOVE AS A HOLIDAY TRADITION: IN JEWISH TRADITION, THE DAY OF PROCLAMATION OF TORAH TO THE JEWS AT MOUNT SINAI IN EGYPT IS CELEBRATED AS SHAVUOT, THE HARVEST HOLIDAY, THE FEAST OF WEEKS, THE HOLIDAY OF THE FIRST FRUITS. AMONG CHRISTIANS THERE IS NO COMPARABLE HOLIDAY TRADITION TO CELEBRATE THE PROCLAMATION OF THE TWO GREAT COMMANDMENTS BY JESUS CHRIST.

I ask Americans to begin a new holiday tradition to celebrate the proclamation of the Love Commandments. IN THE JEWISH TRADITION, THE DAY OF PROCLAMATION OF THE TORAH TO THE JEWS AT MOUNT SINAI IN EGYPT IS CELEBRATED AS SHAVUOT, THE HARVEST HOLIDAY, THE FEAST OF WEEKS, THE HOLIDAY OF THE FIRST FRUITS. AMONG CHRISTIANS OF NUMEROUS DENOMINATIONS THERE IS NO COMPARABLE HOLIDAY TRADITION TO CELEBRATE THE PROCLAMATION OF THE TWO GREAT ‘LOVE’ COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS CHRIST WHICH IS THE BASIS FOR CHRISTIAN FAITH BOTH IN TERMS OF RELATIONS WITH GOD AND OTHER MEN.

While retaining the essence of The Code of The Ten Words Jesus changed the Operating Principle of the Torah or The Law. Jesus instructs that the Law would be followed by His believers not through the use of force or authority but by simply embracing the equally powerful influence called Love.

Holiday is a day of freedom from labor sanctioned by God, and it is set aside for leisure and recreation to renew man’s relationship with his Creator. In Civil Society, certain days are set aside by Law or Custom and Traditions for the suspension of official business activities and very often in commemoration of some important events in national life.

I am using the term Whole Holiday to recognize a specific day that is set aside by Human Law in recognition of the Divine Law that is conducive to the development of harmonious, or wholesome interpersonal relationships that are essential to promote the health, and well-being of all people. In the US, there are several holidays that are legal and none of them directly address the central issue of developing Love relationships.

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love. Friday, February 14, 2025. Happy Valentine’s Day. Get involved to begin a new holiday tradition in America.. I ask Americans to begin a new holiday tradition to celebrate the proclamation of the Love Commandments: CHRISTMAS DAY, A HOLIDAY ON DECEMBER 25, CELEBRATES THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST. THE FOCUS UPON GOD’S UNCONDITIONED LOVE IS NOT ALWAYS EXPRESSED IN THIS TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY CELEBRATION.

Christmas Day Holiday celebration should reflect the very essence of Christianity.

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love.

John, Chapter 3, verse 16 declares: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The Christmas tradition is about the Joy that is associated with the birth of baby Jesus and the exchange of gifts to express the sense of happiness. Christmas holiday is not in remembrance of God’s Law.

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love.

Jesus Christ established Love as the God’s Greatest Commandment. Matthew (Chapter 22, verses 37-40), and Mark (Chapter 12, verses 28-31) describe the Commandments of Love: “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. This is the first great commandment. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two Commandments.”

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love.

John, Chapter 13, verse 34 describes the need for neighborly relations among people based upon Love: “A new command I give you: Love one another, as I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Whole Love-Whole Tradition-Whole Law-Whole Holiday:

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love. I ask Americans to begin a new holiday tradition to celebrate the proclamation of the Love Commandments. I AM ASKING ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE US CONGRESS TO INSTITUTE A NEW LAW IN RECOGNITION OF THE WHOLE LAW OF WHOLE LOVE. THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF JULY SHOULD BE A LEGAL HOLIDAY TO CELEBRATE THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS IN JULY.

In the United States, we have no Law, or a cultural tradition to commemorate the event in which Jesus issued the two great commandments asking people to observe the Law of Whole Love which demands, 1. The Love of God with Whole Body, Heart, Mind, and Soul, and 2. The Love of Neighbor as a requirement of God’s Law for man. After my Whole Discovery, the discovery of the experience of Whole Love in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, I decided to promote the establishment of a Whole Tradition to follow the Spirit of the Whole Law to truly observe the Commandment of Whole Love.

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love: THE NEW ‘WHOLE TRADITION’ TO COMMEMORATE THE PRONOUNCEMENT OF THE ‘WHOLE LAW’ WILL INSTITUTE A NEW, ‘WHOLE HOLIDAY’ ON THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF JULY. THIS ‘WHOLE HOLIDAY’ WILL BE CALLED ‘BETTER THAN VALENTINE’S DAY. THE ROSES ARE FOR GOD AND THE CHOCOLATES ARE FOR THE NEIGHBOR.

To commemorate my Whole Discovery, I appeal to all the members of the US Congress to approve a new Law to observe the last Wednesday of July as the Whole Love Holiday. The choice of Wednesday is very appropriate as most other legal holidays are observed on Mondays as a matter of convenience and not for the purposes of obedience to a Divine Law which should be the source and inspiration for the Human Law. The concept of Whole Love represents the Whole Law that is explicitly pronounced by Jesus Christ as the only Commandment that man must follow and observe in his lifetime. To acknowledge the Whole Law, to celebrate its pronouncement, we need a new Whole Tradition which is reflected by instituting a new Whole Holiday.

Whole Dude – Whole Valentine: The celebration of Whole Love. Friday, February 14, 2025. Happy Valentine’s Day. Get involved to begin a new holiday tradition in America. The time is right to begin a new holiday tradition to celebrate the proclamation of the Love Commandments.

Old Flames Never Die – A Pledge to my Valentine

Old Flames Never Die: The year 2010 is the Year of the Male Iron Tiger (lcags-pho stag-lo). The first day falls on February 14, 2010, or Tibetan New Year 2137.

My consciousness got exposed to the Spirits of some young Tibetan soldiers whose untimely deaths I had witnessed. I dedicate this blog post to those Living Tibetan Spirits that continue to live in my consciousness.

Who is my Valentine?

Old Flames Never Die: The year 2010 is the Year of the Male Iron Tiger (lcags-pho stag-lo). The first day falls on February 14, 2010, or Tibetan New Year 2137. Goddess Palden Lhamo (Sanskrit. Sri Devi), the Dharma Protector of Tibet.

The word Valentine as a noun describes a Sweetheart chosen on St. Valentine’s Day (February 14). A note or greeting card sent to Sweetheart on this Day containing a message of sentimental love is also described as  a Valentine. This year’s Valentine’s Day is of special significance to the Tibetan people as  they ushered the New Year of Iron Tiger Year 2137 of their Lunar Calendar. On this Valentine’s Day, I want to assure my Valentine that the burning passion aroused in me is alive and has not died.

After attending Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India, I joined the Indian Army on July 26, 1970. On July 26, 1971, I completed my military and professional training at Military Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, Haryana and was fully ready to serve the nation in my role as a Medical Officer of the Indian Army Medical Corps. I left Ambala on September 21, 1971 on my first posting. On September 22, 1971 after reaching my new Duty Station I met my Flame. The Flame kindled a fire in my heart. That fire still burns.

Old Flames Never Die – A Pledge to my Valentine. These Flames kindled a fire in my heart on September 22, 1971 and that fire still burns. I shall keep the Flame alive in my future.

As the saying goes, “Old Flames Never Die”. The Flame lives in my Consciousness. On this Valentine’s Day, I pledge that I will keep the Flame alive in my future. The message that I want to send to my Valentine is ; “My past, my present, and my future is a continuum.”  I share the pain and grief that my Valentine has experienced in the past and is experiencing now. We both understand the Challenge, share a common hope and expectation of a better future. The Spirit of my Valentine languishes in Darkness. The darkness of military occupation has enveloped my Flame threatening her very existence. She needs a breath of fresh air to survive. I promise that I am the Breath of my Valentine’s life.

Old Flames Never Die: I seek the Compassion of Buddha to keep the Flame Alive and fulfil the Pledge made to my Valentine.

The Butter Lamps lit in my Unit’s Gonpa (Gompa) are still glowing. I seek the Compassion of Buddha to keep the Flames Alive.

Tibetan New Year -Losar – Iron Tiger Year 2137:

Tibetans celebrate their New Year in the traditions of their Lunar Calendar. The Valentine’s Day this year has coincided with their New Year – LOSAR celebration. In due recognition of the pain, suffering, and misery that is  experienced by Tibetans inside Tibet, and to honor the memory of Tibetans who lost their lives during 2008 protests, the Tibetan Community has refused to celebrate LOSAR during 2009. I send my greetings of  “TASHI DELEK” to all of my associates and people who  defend Tibetan Identity.

Dharamsala, HP, India, 14 February 2010 (tibet.net) – His Holiness the Dalai Lama presided over religious ceremonies at the main Buddhist temple in Dharamsala this morning, marking Losar or the “Year 2137 of the Iron-Tiger” of Tibetan calender.

Later, His Holiness the Dalai Lama delivered a brief address to thousands of Tibetans gathered for the ceremony.

His Holiness offered greetings to Tibetans living inside and outside Tibet and people of the Himalayan region who share same culture and religion as Tibetans. His Holiness extended his good wishes and gratitude to the international community for taking interest in and supporting the just cause of Tibetans.

“Despite facing great problems in Tibet for many years, the Tibetan people living inside have shown indomitable courage and sincerity in standing up to the situation,” said His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

His Holiness said “Tibetans in living in many parts of Tibet are marking the year as a year of remembrance of Tibetan people’s suffering,” adding that “they refrain from festivities during the Losar.” With such sentiments of our brethren in Tibet, His Holiness advised Tibetans to offer prayers by engaging in religious ceremonies and eschew festive celebrations.”

His Holiness “reminds Tibetans living in the free world, not to forget the critical situation in Tibet”. “The Tibetans in exile must keep up their sincerity and courage like their brethren in Tibet,” His Holiness added.

Speaking of education, His Holiness “urged Tibetans, Mongolians and the people of Himalayan region to put more efforts in education, and to excel in the study of Tibetan Buddhism”. His Holiness “underlined the study of Tibet’s unique secular education, particularly the philosophy of religion”.

The day began at 7:00 am with an early morning ceremony of offering prayers and ceremonial cake(Tse-Tor) to goddess Palden Lhamo, the supreme hierarchy of Dharma protectors. The abbot of Namgyal Monastery offered Mendel Tensum, auspicious offerings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The officials of the Central Tibetan Administration, including the chief justice commissioner, justice commissioners, speaker and members of Tibetan Parliament, Kalon Tripa Prof Samdhong Rinpoche and members of the Kashag, were present.

This is was followed by another prayer service in the main shrine hall, during which the abbot of Namgyal Monastery, the chief justice commissioner, speaker of the Tibetan Parliament and Kalon Tripa, presented auspicious offerings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. A group of monks participated in a religious debate.

Whole Valentine – The Celebration of Holy Death on Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Wednesday February 14, 2018 is very significant as the day symbolizes 3-in-1 Celebration of Holy Death from both Hindu and Christian perspectives. There is an interesting coincidence of three holiday traditions; 1. Maha Shivaratri, 2. Ash Wednesday, and 3. Valentine’s Day.

Indians celebrate Maha Shivaratri in the Month of Magha, Krishna Paksha (Waning Phase of Lunar Cycle), on fourth day called Chaturdashi.

In essence it is celebration of Divine Love to defend man’s mortal existence from premature loss of life.

In Hindu Mythology, Lord Kamadeva or Cupid known as Lord Manmadha shot his magic arrow to facilitate romantic union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati to save humanity from actions of evil power. But Kamadeva pays heavy price for stimulating Lord Shiva’s romantic interest while He meditated with absolute stillness of mind. Later, Lord Shiva restores Kamadeva’s life for he acted to help humanity to save them from their suffering.

Many Hindus observe fasting on the night before Maha Shivaratri Day and spend the night in devotional worship of Lord Shiva to thank him for His Mercy, Grace, and Compassion in responding to man’s fears about Death. Man conquers his Fear of Death by simply burning his desires. In Indian Tradition, Lord Shiva adorns Himself by covering His body with ‘Ashes’ that signify burnt desires. Man keeps his Love of God by sacrificing desires for material comfort and sensual pleasure.

Ash Wednesday is again celebration of God’s Love. God sent Jesus to save man from Sin and Death. Jesus prepares Himself for His earthly mission for 40 days by fasting and praying. He prepared for His sacrifice through crucifixion to atone for man’s sinful conduct. Ash Wednesday heralds the beginning of ‘Lent Season’ that culminates in Easter Celebration of Resurrection of Jesus after He died on Cross.

“FOR EVEN THE SON OF MAN DID NOT COME TO BE SERVED, BUT TO SERVE, AND TO GIVE HIS LIFE AS A RANSOM FOR MANY.” MARK, 10:45.

Valentine’s Day celebrates romantic interpersonal relationships between men and women. For man is mortal being, man desires to keep feelings of Love alive even after death. Man celebrates enduring and abiding quality of Love for it transcends barriers of Time.

ASH WEDNESDAY IS ABOUT DEATH

Whole Valentine – The Celebration of Holy Death on Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Today is Ash Wednesday, the holiday marking the beginning of Lent, the 40-day period of purification in which Christians often find something to “give up.”

This ritual makes a lot of sense even in modern secular terms. We have juice fasts and cleanses, after all. And indeed, the idea that it could be helpful for all of us to try to get rid of, or at least pause, the superfluous things in our life to focus more on the essential is an idea that is present in spirituality both Eastern and Western, as well as in secular folklore.

Fasting yields spiritual benefits because it is a kind of spiritual workout. Physical exercise works by putting stress on our muscles, and this strengthens them. Something like dieting is worthwhile not just because we expect to get some material benefit from it, like lower weight or better health, but also the spiritual benefit of becoming less attached to material things.

But Lent is about much more than dieting. It’s about death.

For starters, on Ash Wednesday, the priest draws a cross on your forehead with ashes, a reminder that “dust we are and to dust we shall return.” That means death.

This is a part of the Catholic faith that I don’t usually like. Not that death makes me uncomfortable — I believe in life everlasting — but because the faith has been corrupted by the idea that it is simply a get-out-of-hell card, a set of legalistic or pious requirements that one must accomplish to save one’s soul. Christianity shouldn’t just be about avoiding hell — it’s about an encounter with a person whom, we believe, is love made flesh.

The point about ashes and turning away from fleshly reality also offers a reminder of another folk belief that has too long been associated with Christianity: namely, the idea that this world is wholly corrupt and that the body and material goods are to be despised. This belief is actually condemned as a heresy by the Catholic Church, because the Bible affirms that God loves the material world he created.

And yet, while material things like food and drink and sex are all well and good, it is still the case that they are not the most important things in life. And moreover, it is still the case that those things can enslave us. “I can quit any time!” says the smoker, puffing in the rain with a grimace on his face. Tuning down some pleasures might make us realize how much of a hold they have on us.

A reminder of our maturity is perhaps one of the most salutary things we can experience. We are all mortal, and yet we spend our entire lives trying to distract ourselves from this fact. On a day-to-day basis, almost all of us like to think and live and behave as if we will live forever. But we won’t. If you were to die tomorrow — or 40 days from now — what would you change? What would you do differently? Lent pushes us to ask these questions.

Lent is also about death for a much more fundamental reason, one which is much less secular than platitudes about the importance of clean living. Lent is spiritual preparation for the celebration of the Easter cycle, when Jesus Christ was crucified before rising from the dead three days later.

Jesus chose to pour out his divine love on the cross, to give himself fully to us, in an acrobatic act of love that would in a mysterious way bind us to him. Christians, then, are called to imitate him by “dying” — that is to say, by renouncing everything apart from this divine love, everything apart from love of God and love of fellow man.

This, rather than Lent, is the real meaning of Ash Wednesday. I hope you can partake in it.
