Whole Reflections on Whole Christmas Day – Whole Dude at Whole Foods awaits the Second Coming of the Good Samaritan

Whole Christmas – A Septuagenarian applies The Parable of The Good Samaritan to his life today

Redefining Neighbor: The core lesson is that a neighbor isn’t defined by geography, tribe, or belief, but by need. The Samaritan helped a Jew, a traditional enemy, showing love transcends prejudice.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan teaches that “neighbor” means anyone in need, regardless of background, challenging us to show radical compassion, break down social barriers, and act with sacrificial love, even at personal inconvenience, just as the Samaritan helped his enemy, mirroring Jesus’s own mercy and calling us to be active agents of healing in a divided world, not just observers. It moves beyond mere religious duty to demand practical, empathetic action, showing that true worship involves seeing the humanity in others and actively caring for them.

Call to Action: The parable isn’t just a story but a command: “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:37). We are called to stop, see suffering, and act, even if it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Key Reflections & Lessons:

Redefining Neighbor: The core lesson is that a neighbor isn’t defined by geography, tribe, or belief, but by need. The Samaritan helped a Jew, a traditional enemy, showing love transcends prejudice.

Call to Action: The parable isn’t just a story but a command: “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:37). We are called to stop, see suffering, and act, even if it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Beyond Rituals: It contrasts the indifference of the priest and Levite with the active mercy, suggesting that true love for God requires love for others, even strangers.

Spiritual & Moral Levels: On a spiritual level, the wounded man represents humanity, and Jesus is the ultimate Good Samaritan who saves us. Morally, it challenges us to be that savior for others, offering personal care, not just resources.

Counter-Cultural Love: In a world of division, it promotes radical empathy and belonging, recognizing the shared humanity in every suffering person.

Questions for Self-Reflection:

God’s Call to Action: The parable isn’t just a story but a command: “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:37). We are called to stop, see suffering, and act, even if it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Who are the “wounded people” on my roadside (in my community, workplace, family)?

Am I acting like the priest/Levite (bypassing) or the Samaritan (stopping to help)?

How can I show sacrificial love, even at personal cost, to someone I might dislike or overlook?

Who are the “wounded people” on my roadside (in my community, workplace, family)?

I am presenting the story of a Septuagenarian who lives in the U.S. without the usual retirement option. Like many other senior citizens, this Septuagenarian works in a job where the pension plan failed to offer retirement income as the plan lost his savings due to improper investment choices made by the plan administrators. Secondly, this Septuagenarian pays taxes like all others and is yet disqualified from receiving his monthly retirement income benefit from Social Security due to rules imposed by PRWORA of 1996.

Counter-Cultural Love: In a world of division, the Parable of The Good Samaritan promotes radical empathy and belonging, recognizing the shared humanity in every suffering person.

The constitutional validity of regulations imposed by PRWORA is not known as it is not tested in any U.S. Court of Law. In my analysis, PRWORA imposes Involuntary Servitude, Forced Labor, Compulsory Service and Slavery as the Septuagenarian is not allowed the Right claim his own earnings held in Public Trust Fund administered by Social Security Administration.

In my view, Americans are alienated from virtue called Mercy while they generously contribute to various charitable organizations to claim the benefit of tax deduction.

On Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day of 2025, a Septuagenarian simply awaits the arrival of ‘Good Samaritan’ that Jesus describes in a parable. There is no hope of Jesus returning in a few years and for that reason, the Septuagenarian has no hope to quit working in a few years.

Simon Cyrene

Spiritual & Moral Levels: On a spiritual level, the wounded man represents humanity, and Jesus is the ultimate Good Samaritan who saves us. Morally, it challenges us to be that savior for others, offering personal care, not just resources.

‘I HOPE I CAN QUIT WORKING IN A FEW YEARS’ : A PREVIEW OF THE U.S. WITHOUT PENSIONS

SOCIAL SECURITY REINVENTS SLAVERY BY RESTRICTING RIGHT TO PROPERTY PROTECTED BY THE 13th AMENDMENT.

© NICK OXFORD/Nick Oxford for The Washington Post Tom Coomer makes a pot of coffee at his home in Wagoner, Okla., after a day of work at Walmart. So here he is at 79, working full time at Walmart. During each eight-hour shift, he stands at the store entrance greeting customers, telling a joke and fetching a “buggy.” Or he is stationed at the exit, checking receipts and the shoppers that trip the theft alarm.

“As long as I sit down for about 10 minutes every hour or two, I’m fine,” he said during a break. Diagnosed with spinal stenosis in his back, he recently forwarded a doctor’s note to managers. “They got me a stool.”

The way major U.S. companies provide for retiring workers has been shifting for about three decades, with more dropping traditional pensions every year. The first full generation of workers to retire since this turn offers a sobering preview of a labor force more and more dependent on their own savings for retirement.

Years ago, Coomer and his co-workers at the Tulsa plant of McDonnell-Douglas, the famed airplane maker, were enrolled in the company pension, but in 1994, with an eye toward cutting retirement costs, the company closed the plant. Now, The Washington Post found in a review of those 998 workers, that even though most of them found new jobs, they could never replace their lost pension benefits and many are facing financial struggle in their old age: One in seven has in their retirement years filed for bankruptcy, faced liens for delinquent bills, or both, according to public records.

Those affected are buried by debts incurred for credit cards, used cars, health care and sometimes, the college educations of their children.

Some have lost their homes.

And for many of them, even as they reach beyond 70, real retirement is elusive. Although they worked for decades at McDonnell-Douglas, many of the septuagenarians are still working, some full time.

Lavern Combs, 73, works the midnight shift loading trucks for a company that delivers for Amazon. Ruby Oakley, 74, is a crossing guard. Charles Glover, 70, is a cashier at Dollar General. Willie Sells, 74, is a barber. Leon Ray, 76, buys and sells junk.

© NICK OXFORD/Nick Oxford for The Washington Post Former McDonnell Douglas employee Ruby Oakley works five days a week as a crossing guard for an elementary school in Tulsa, Okla. “I planned to retire years ago,” Sells says from behind his barber’s chair, where he works five days a week. He once had a job in quality control at the aircraft maker and was employed there 29 years. “I thought McDonnell-Douglas was a blue-chip company — that’s what I used to tell people. ‘They’re a hip company and they’re not going to close.’ But then they left town — and here I am still working. Thank God I had a couple of clippers.”

Likewise, Oakley, a crossing guard at an elementary school, said she took the job to supplement her Social Security.

“It pays some chump change — $7 an hour,” Oakley said. She has told local officials they should pay better. “I use it for gas money. I like the people. But we have to get out there in the traffic, and the people at the city think they’re doing the senior citizens a favor by letting them work like this.”

Glover works the cash register and does stocking at a Dollar General store outside Tulsa to make ends meet. After working 27 years at McDonnell-Douglas, Glover found work at a Whirlpool factory, and then at another place that makes robots for inspecting welding, and also picked up some jobs doing AutoCAD drawing.

© NICK OXFORD/Nick Oxford for The Washington Post Leon Ray stands amid a collection of junk that he restores and recycles at his home in Claremore, Okla.

“I hope I can quit working in a few years, but the way it looks right now, I can’t see being able to,” Glover said recently between customers. “I had to refinance my home after McDonnell-Douglas closed. I still owe about 12 years of mortgage payments.”

For some, financial shortfalls have grown acute enough that they have precipitated liens for delinquent bills or led people to file for bankruptcy. None were inclined to talk about their debts.

“It’s a struggle, just say that,” said one woman, 72, who filed for bankruptcy in 2013. “You just try to get by.”

A perk that became too costly

The notion of pensions — and the idea that companies should set aside money for retirees — didn’t last long. They really caught on in the mid-20th century, but today, except among government employers, the traditional pension now seems destined to be an artifact of U.S. labor history.

The first ones offered by a private company were those handed out by American Express, back when it was stagecoach delivery service. That was in 1875. The idea didn’t exactly spread like wildfire, but under union pressure in the middle of the last century, many companies adopted a plan. By the 1980s, the trend had profoundly reshaped retirement for Americans, with a large majority of full-time workers at medium and large companies getting traditional pension coverage, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

Then corporate America changed: Union membership waned. Executive boards, under pressure from financial raiders, focused more intently on maximizing stock prices. And Americans lived longer, making a pension much more expensive to provide.

The average life expectancy in 1950 was 68, meaning that a pension had to pay out only three years past the typical retirement age of 65. Today, average life expectancy is about 79, meaning that the same plan would have to pay out 13 years past typical retirement age.

Exactly what led corporate America away from pensions is a matter of debate among scholars, but there is little question that they seem destined for extinction, at least in the private sector.

Even as late as the early 1990s, about 60 percent of full-time workers at medium and large companies had pension coverage, according to the government figures. But today only about 24 percent of workers at midsize and large companies have pension coverage, according to the data, and that number is expected to continue to fall as older workers exit the workforce.

In place of pensions, companies and investment advisers urge employees to open retirement accounts. The basic idea is that workers will manage their own retirement funds, sometimes with a little help from their employers, sometimes not. Once they reach retirement age, those accounts are supposed to supplement whatever Social Security might pay. (Today, Social Security provides only enough for a bare-bones budget, about $14,000 a year on average.)

The trouble with expecting workers to save on their own is that almost half of U.S. families have no such retirement account, according the Fed’s 2016 Survey of Consumer Finances.

Of those who do have retirement accounts, moreover, their savings are far too scant to support a typical retirement. The median account, among workers at the median income level, is about $25,000.

“The U.S. retirement system, and the workers and retirees it was designed to help, face major challenges,” according to an October report by the Government Accountability Office. “Traditional pensions have become much less common, and individuals are increasingly responsible for planning and managing their own retirement savings accounts.”

The GAO further warned that “many households are ill-equipped for this task and have little or no retirement savings.”

The GAO recommended that Congress consider creating an independent commission study the U.S. retirement system.

“If no action is taken, a retirement crisis could be looming,” it said.

‘We were stunned’

Employees at McDonnell-Douglas in the early ’90s enjoyed one of the more generous types of pensions, those known as “30 and out.” Employees with 30 years on the job could retire with a full pension once they reached age 55.

But, as the employees would later learn, the generosity of those pensions made them, in lean times, an appealing target for cost-cutters.

Those lean times for McDonnell-Douglas began in earnest in the early ’90s. Some plants closed. But for the remaining employees, including those at the Tulsa plant, executives said, there was hope: if Congress allowed the $6 billion sale of 72 F-15s to Saudi Arabia, the new business would rescue the company. In fact, the company said in its 1991 annual report, it would save 7,000 jobs.

To help win approval for the sale, Tulsa employees wrote letters to politicians. They held a rally with local politicians and the governor of Oklahoma. And eventually, in September 1992, President George H.W. Bush approved the sale. It seemed that the Tulsa plant had weathered the storm.

The headline in the Oklahoman, one of the state’s largest newspapers, proclaimed: “F-15 Sale to Saudi Arabia Saves Jobs of Tulsa Workers.”

But it hadn’t. Within months, executives at the company again turned to cost-cutting. They considered closing a plant in Florida, another in Mesa, Ariz., or the Tulsa facility. Tulsa, it was noted, had the oldest hourly employees — the average employee was 51 and had worked there for about 20 years. Many were close to getting a full pension, and that meant closing it would yield bigger savings in retirement costs.

“One day in December ’93 they came on the loudspeaker and said, ‘Attention, employees,’ Coomer recalled. “We were going to close. We were stunned. Just ran around like a bunch of chickens.”

A few years later, McDonnell-Douglas, which continued to struggle, merged with Boeing. But the employees had taken their case to court, and in 2001, a federal judge agreed that McDonnell-Douglas had illegally considered the pensions in its decision to close the plant. The employees case, presented by attorneys Joe Farris and Mike Mulder, showed that the company had tracked pension savings in its plant closure decisions.

The judge found McDonnell-Douglas, moreover, had offered misleading testimony in its defense of the plant closing. The judge, Sven Erik Holmes, blasted the company for a “corporate culture of mendacity.”

Employees eventually won settlements — about $30,000 was typical. It helped carry people over to find new jobs. But the amount was limited to cover the benefits of three years of employment — and it was far less than the loss in pension and retiree health benefits. Because their pension benefits accrued most quickly near retirement age, the pensions they receive are only a small fraction of what they would have had they worked until full eligibility.

“People went to work at these places thinking they’ll work there their whole lives,” Farris said, noting that the pensions held great appeal to the staff. “Their trust and loyalty, though, was not reciprocated.”

Dreaming of work

The economic effects were, of course, immediate.

The workers, most of them over 50, had to find jobs.

Some enrolled in classes for new skills, but then struggled to find jobs in their new fields. They wondered, amid rejections, whether younger workers were favored.

Several found jobs at other industrial plants. One started a chicken farm for Tyson. Another took a job on a ranch breaking horses.

The Post acquired a list of the 998 employees, reviewed public records for them, and interviewed more than 25.

Of those interviewed, all found work of one kind or another. Yet all but a handful said their new wages were only about half of what they had been making. Typically, their pay dropped in half, from about $20 per hour to $10 per hour.

The pay cut was tough, and it made saving for retirement close to impossible. In fact, it has made retirement itself near impossible for some — they must work to pay the bills.

A few said, though, they work because they detest idleness, and persist in jobs that would seem to require remarkable endurance.

Combs, for example, works the graveyard shift, begins each workday at 1:30 a.m. His days off are Thursday and Sunday. He worked 25 years at McDonnell-Douglas, and more than 20 loading trucks.

He shrugs off the difficulty.

“I don’t want to sit around and play checkers and get fat,” Combs says. “I used to pick cotton in 90-degree heat. This is easy.”

Coomer, too, even if he would have preferred to retire, seems to genuinely enjoy his work. At Walmart, his natural cheerfulness is put to good use.

“Hi, Tom, how are you?” a customer on a motorized scooter, one of many who greet him by name, asks on her way out.

“Doing good . . . beautiful day,” he says, smiling warmly.

Later he explains his geniality.

“I like to talk to people! I like to visit with them. I can talk to anyone. I’ve always been like that, since I was a kid.”

When he sees someone looking glum, he tells them a joke.

Why does Santa Claus have three gardens?

So he can hoe, hoe, hoe.

“People really like that one,” he says.

Coomer grew up on a farm in Broken Arrow, got married when he was 17 — his wife was 15 — and says he’s always liked work.

“I really loved working at McDonnell-Douglas,” he says, One time, he says, he worked 36 days straight: 11 hours on the weekdays and eight hours on Saturdays and Sundays. He joked that the factory was his home address. All along, for his 29 years there, he had his eye on the pension. And then, for the most part, it was gone.

After the plant closed, Coomer worked as a security guard. Then he worked for a friend who had a pest-control company. When that slowed down, he picked up seasonal work at the city, doing some mowing and chipping.

Then came Walmart.

Soon, he said, he expects to cut back from full time to about three days a week.

Along with his Walmart check, he gets $300 a month from the McDonnell-Douglas pension. Had he been able to continue working at McDonnell-Douglas, he calculates that he would have gotten about five times that amount.

“After they shut the plant down, I would dream that I was back at McDonnell-Douglas and going to get my pension,” Coomer recalled. “In the dream, I would try to clock in but I couldn’t find my time card. And then I’d wake up.”

In the dream, he would have retired years ago.

Whole Dude – Whole Crisis

The Retirement Crisis in America

The Retirement Crisis in America. Human Dignity is the most important concern in the study of the Retirement Crisis in America.
The Retirement Crisis in America

I am pleased to share an article published by Ms. Juliana Kaplan in Business Insider to report the problem of retirement crisis in America.

The Retirement Crisis in America – #CARDPLAYINGDAY FOR RETIREMENT INSURANCE BENEFIT, WHO IS HOLDING THE CARDS? WHO IS PLAYING THE GAME? WHAT ARE THE RIGHTS OF SUBSCRIBER TO PLAY THE CARDGAME?

There is a problem with employer provided 401(k) retirement accounts. These investments are not secure for they are not insured. The risk of loss is more certain than the chance to get some secure income in old age. The employer chooses the investor who charges the administrative fees irrespective of gain or loss in the invested funds. I struggled for over twenty five years with such accounts and was forced to close the account and paid penalty for premature closure. I used the funds to pay off credit card debt. At age 75, I am still working a full time hourly wage job and reopened the 401(k) account in Jan 2024 to reduce the federal tax. There is no law to compel the employer to provide any matching contributions to the employee retirement fund. In my experience, the employer’s matching contribution doesn’t even pay the costs of the administrative fees.

The Retirement Crisis in America: America must follow the concepts of retirement/pension fund programs of other nations.

I like to recommend the concept of Provident Fund offered to employees of state and federal government in countries like India. The Provident Fund is in addition to the retirement pension which is unlike the Social Security Old Age Monthly Retirement Benefit. The pension plan is operated by the State or Federal Employer for their own employees and not the general public.

The Retirement Crisis in America. Old Age Retirement Income Benefit must be viewed as a Human Right as all human beings are impacted by the aging process without any exceptions.

When speaking about economic security and defending the dignity of people during old age, I wish to add the concept of Human Rights. It is about the attainment of complete Human Rights during old age. The concept of Human Rights and Human Dignity may help people to seek the Right to Life during their old age when they may lose the physical ability to work.

The Retirement Crisis in America. All American workers pay the same taxes and yet alien workers are excluded from receiving the benefits such as the Old Age Retirement Monthly Income Benefit.

The term ‘American’ is used as if aging is the peculiar problem of a particular nationality or the citizenship status of people. In my analysis, there are numerous human beings who currently reside in the United States who pay all taxes like the American citizens but are denied access to the Social Security Old Age Monthly Retirement Benefit as they are identified as unqualified aliens by the Social Security Act that was amended by President Clinton’s Welfare Reform Act (PRWORA) of 1996. From a human perspective of old age, economic security impacts the lives of all people without any concern for their nationality, country of origin, or citizenship status.

The Retirement Crisis in America

Just over half of Americans over the age of 65 are earning under $30,000 a year, and it shows how stark the retirement crisis is

  • A new report from Sen. Bernie Sanders signals a looming retirement crisis for Americans.
  • Many older folks are financially vulnerable, with over half living on incomes of $30,000 or less a year.
  • Solutions might include enhancing Social Security checks and setting up automatic retirement accounts.

There’s a retirement crisis looming for many Americans — and some are already living on scant incomes. Retirement is becoming a luxury for Americans hoping to get a reprieve in their later years, and it’s something a handful of lawmakers are hoping to change.

A new report from Sen. Bernie Sanders, the chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, looks at the bleak future facing some older Americans and those who hope to retire someday.

The report cited the National Retirement Risk Index, which found that about half of households “will not be able to maintain their” preretirement living standard and that 56% of low-income households — and 45% of those who are middle income — were “at risk” of not maintaining those preretirement standards at age 65.

Even more glaringly, 73% of those in the bottom group of wealth holders were similarly at risk, compared with 28% of people in the highest wealth group.

“After a lifetime of hard work, Americans deserve to retire with dignity,” Sanders’ report said. “But with our retirement system focused on increasing profits for Wall Street, a financially secure retirement is beyond the grasp of many workers. The time to change that is now.”

Americans’ struggle to comfortably retire could prove costly and devastating for retirees who may find themselves cash-strapped and unable to healthcare or housing in their later years. A 2023 Pew Charitable Trusts study suggests that as more households with older Americans become financially vulnerable from 2021 to 2040, state governments will take a $1.3 trillion hit.

And for some, the retirement crisis is already here. Just over half of Americans older than 65 are living on incomes of $30,000 or less a year, according to the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey. The largest share — just under 23% — has incomes between $10,000 and $19,999.

Many Americans hoping to age out of work may also not have retirement accounts to fall back on, or to use as a cushion. In the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances, just 42% of Americans 75 and older reported holding retirement accounts as of 2022. Similarly, only 51% of Americans 65 to 74 said they held retirement accounts.

And, as Sanders’ report said, about 10% of older Americans live in poverty, an analysis from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities found. Without Social Security income, about 38% of Americans 65 and older would be living below the poverty line. Even so, America’s Social Security benefits lag programs of many other wealthy countries; benefits amount to, on average, 51.8% of workers’ earnings across the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development member countries. In the US, they fall under 40%.

Among G7 countries — a group of wealthy, industrialized democracies — the US trails Japan only slightly when it comes to elder poverty rates, defined by the OECD as making less than half a country’s median income.

Some lawmakers, including Sanders, have proposed legislative solutions, such as beefing up Social Security checks, setting up kids with automatic savings accounts, or automatically setting up retirement accounts for lower- and middle-income Americans whose workplaces might not offer them.

All that comes as older Americans see their adult children leaning on them financially and Gen Zers and millennials weather their own economic storms.

“I’m really expecting the landscape of the economy for this generation that my children are in to be dismal,” Jane, a boomer who unretired to help support her Gen Z kids, previously told BusinessInsider.

Inmates of Florida’s prisons are planning to use Monday’s Martin Luther King Day holiday to launch a statewide strike over conditions they say amount to modern-day slavery.

The unusual protest has been called by inmates angry at being used as unpaid clean-up crews for storm debris in sweltering temperatures last September, after Hurricane Irma struck the state.

But organizers cite a number of other long-standing grievances for the planned month-long action, in which prisoners will refuse to take part in work assignments and forego purchasing “overpriced” luxury items such as snacks and toiletries, in an attempt to hit the state’s department of corrections in the pocket.

“Our goal is to make the governor realize that it will cost the state of Florida millions of dollars daily to contract outside companies to come and cook, clean and handle the maintenance,” the unnamed prisoners said in a statement posted on the website of the inmates’ advocacy group Fight Toxic Prisons.

“This will cause a total breakdown. We must use everything we have to show that we mean business.”

Florida has the nation’s third-largest prison system with 97,000 inmates, according to state figures. It is also one of the most troubled and violent such systems, with allegations of abuse of inmates rife.

In 2017, officers were cleared of blame for the death of a mentally ill patient they left in a scalding shower for two hours as punishment. In-depth investigations by the Miami Herald uncovered large numbers of rapes, beatings and cover-ups in the state’s non-air-conditioned jails.

The prisoners have dubbed their protest Operation Push, after civil rights leader Jesse Jackson’s 1970s campaign to improve economic conditions for African Americans. Almost a third of Florida inmates are black, compared to fewer than 17% in the general population.

“They force them to work at gunpoint and they pay them nothing. There’s a word for that, it’s called slavery.”

Paul Wright, Human Rights Defense Center

One key demand is a reasonable wage for the labor inmates provide.

“They force them to work at gunpoint and they pay them nothing,” said Paul Wright, executive director of the Florida-based Human Rights Defense Center.

“There’s a word for that, it’s called slavery.

“Florida is one of the few states in the country that doesn’t pretend to pay even a nominal wage. Some states might say they pay 10 cents a day, or 15 cents an hour, or whatever, but here they make it pretty clear they don’t pay prisoners anything, they’re not going to, and prisoners are totally enslaved at every level.

“There’s no legal way for Florida’s prisoners to earn money in the prison system.”

The inmates also want the return of parole as an incentive for those with long-term sentences and an end to what they see as price gouging on food and other necessities.

“One case of soup on the street cost $4, it costs us $17 on the inside,” the prisoners said in their statement. “This is highway robbery without a gun. It’s not just us that they’re taking from. It’s our families who struggle to make ends meet and send us money, they are the real victims.”

Advocacy groups and friends and families of inmates have organized solidarity rallies outside several prisons and department of corrections offices on Monday, including in Miami and Tallahassee.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, officials sent an email to employees at department headquarters urging them to lock doors and stay inside during the protests.

Tensions are running high in the Florida prison system. Last August, all facilities were placed on a three-day lockdown after unspecific threats of rioting.

In an emailed statement to the Guardian and other media outlets, department of corrections communications director Michelle Glady did not address detailed questions about the planned response to Monday’s planned protests.

“The department will continue to ensure the safe operation of our correctional facilities,” she said.

The U.S. national debt topped $34 trillion for the first time ever, crossing a critical milestone at a time when government spending is already under scrutiny.

The national debt – which measures what the U.S. owes its creditors — hit $34 trillion as of Friday afternoon, according to new data published by the Treasury Department. By comparison, just four decades ago, the national debt hovered around $907 billion.

The national debt is expected to nearly double in size over the next three decades, according to the latest findings from the Congressional Budget Office. At the end of 2022, the national debt grew to about 97% of gross domestic product.

Under current law, that figure is expected to skyrocket to 181% at the end of 2053 – a debt burden that will far exceed any previous level.

“Though our level of debt is dangerous for both our economy and for national security, America just cannot stop borrowing,” said Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

US starts fiscal year with record $31 trillion in debt

By FATIMA HUSSEIN, AP News, October 4, 2022

The Rudolf-Rudi doctrine of Spiritualism describes the Debt Addiction as a symptom of Spiritual Sickness. The US President Joe Biden may have to pray for the Blessings promised by God.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The nation’s gross national debt has surpassed $31 trillion, according to a U.S. Treasury report released Tuesday that logs America’s daily finances.

Edging closer to the statutory ceiling of roughly $31.4 trillion — an artificial cap Congress placed on the U.S. government’s ability to borrow — the debt numbers hit an already tenuous economy facing high inflation, rising interest rates and a strong U.S. dollar.

And while President Joe Biden has touted his administration’s deficit reduction efforts this year and recently signed the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, which attempts to tame 40-year high price increases caused by a variety of economic factors, economists say the latest debt numbers are a cause for concern.

Owen Zidar, a Princeton economist, said rising interest rates will exacerbate the nation’s growing debt issues and make the debt itself more costly. The Federal Reserve has raised rates several times this year in an effort to combat inflation.

Zidar said the debt “should encourage us to consider some tax policies that almost passed through the legislative process but didn’t get enough support,” like imposing higher taxes on the wealthy and closing the carried interest loophole, which allows money managers to treat their income as capital gains.

“I think the point here is if you weren’t worried before about the debt before, you should be — and if you were worried before, you should be even more worried,” Zidar said.

The Congressional Budget Office earlier this year released a report on America’s debt load, warning in its 30-year outlook that, if unaddressed, the debt will soon spiral upward to new highs that could ultimately imperil the U.S. economy.

In its August Mid-Session Review, the administration forecasted that this year’s budget deficit will be nearly $400 billion lower than it estimated back in March, due in part to stronger than expected revenues, reduced spending, and an economy that has recovered all the jobs lost during the multi-year pandemic.

In full, this year’s deficit will decline by $1.7 trillion, representing the single largest decline in the federal deficit in American history, the Office of Management and Budget said in August.

Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said in an emailed statement Tuesday, “This is a new record no one should be proud of.”

“In the past 18 months, we’ve witnessed inflation rise to a 40-year high, interest rates climbing in part to combat this inflation, and several budget-busting pieces of legislation and executive actions,” MacGuineas said. “We are addicted to debt.”

A representative from the Treasury Department was not immediately available for comment.

Sung Won Sohn, an economics professor at Loyola Marymount University, said “it took this nation 200 years to pile up its first trillion dollars in national debt, and since the pandemic we have been adding at the rate of 1 trillion nearly every quarter.”

Predicting high inflation for the “foreseeable future,” he said, “when you increase government spending and money supply, you will pay the price later.”

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

Presidents’ Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February; Presidents’ Day 2022 occurs on Monday, February 21.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.

The story of Presidents’ Day date begins in 1800. Following the death of George Washington in 1799, his February 22 birthday became a perennial day of remembrance.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

The Uniform Monday Holiday Act also included a provision to combine the celebration of Washington’s birthday with that of Abraham Lincoln, which fell on February 12. Lincoln’s Birthday had long been a state holiday in places like Illinois, and many supported joining the two days as a way of giving equal recognition to two of America’s most famous statesmen.

Washington and Lincoln still remain the two most recognized leaders, but Presidents’ Day is now popularly seen as a day to recognize the lives and achievements of all of America’s chief executives. Some lawmakers have objected to this view, arguing that grouping George Washington and Abraham Lincoln together with less successful presidents minimizes their legacies.

In its modern form, Presidents’ Day is used by many patriotic and historical groups as a date for staging celebrations, reenactments and other events. A number of states also require that their public schools spend the days leading up to Presidents’ Day teaching students about the accomplishments of the presidents, often with a focus on the lives of Washington and Lincoln.

Which Foreign governments own the most U.S. debt?

Answer: Here is the Top 10 (as of Sep/2019)

1. Japan, $1145.8 billion dollars
2. China, Mainland, $1102.4 billion dollars
3. All Other, $484.8 billion dollars
4. United Kingdom, $346.2 billion dollars
5. Brazil, $301.2 billion dollars
6. Ireland, $274.1 billion dollars
7. Luxembourg, $252.5 billion dollars
8. Cayman Islands, $238.7 billion dollars
9. Switzerland, $231.3 billion dollars
10. Hong Kong, $224.2 billion dollars

Of the $5.1 trillion dollars of US debt that is owned by foreign governments, China and Japan own nearly half, as evidenced by this chart:

America’s national debt surpasses $30 trillion for the first time

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation Must Wake Up to the Reality of the Clinton Curse.

Skyrocketing pile of debt

The federal government now owes almost $8 trillion to foreign and international investors, led by Japan and China. Eventually, that will need to be paid back, with interest.

“That means American taxpayers will be paying for the retirement of the people in China and Japan, who are our creditors,” said Kelly.

The $30 trillion national debt figure is somewhat inflated by the fact that a chunk of the money is owed by the government to itself. This is debt held in Social Security and other government trust funds. So-called intragovernmental holdings total more than $6 trillion.

Presidents’ Day 2022. The Nation must wake up to the reality of the Clinton Curse.

The United States must reflect upon the actions of the 42nd President that violate the LORD’ s Commandments. The Welfare Reform Act of 1996 enacted by President Bill Clinton reintroduced Slavery into the United States nullifying President Abraham Lincoln’s Proclamation that abolished Slavery.

Excerpt: The article delves into the disparities within the Social Security system, particularly for alien and native-born workers in the US. It highlights the scenario of elderly alien workers who continue to labor past retirement age without hope of receiving Federal Old Age Retirement Insurance Plan Benefits. It points out the injustice of an approved claim for retirement benefits being withheld due to the recipient’s alien status. The text then makes a philosophical foray, discussing natural law and its influence on civil law and ethical conduct. It underlines the role of the Federal Insurance Contributions Act and suggests it should provide “Natural Justice” to all contributors, regardless of citizenship status.

This article refers to the Notice of Award, Date August 16, 2014, the letter mailed by Social Security Administration (SSA), Great Lakes Program Service Center, 600 West Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661-2474. SSA approved the claim for retirement benefits at monthly benefit rate of $1,347.80 for a Senior Alien (age 66-years and more). However, SSA informed that the Department will not pay the benefits because of the applicant’s alien status. In other words, the Senior Alien will be forced to perform Labor to support his marginal existence as he is coerced to work under the compulsions of an unnatural, Human Law.

Natural Law is a system of right or justice held to be common to all mankind derived from ‘Nature’ rather than from the rules and conventions of civil society. Hence it provides a system of justice that is common to all humankind and it is essentially recognized by human reason alone. The opposite of Natural Law is called “human law,” “positive law,” “written law,” or “civil law.” Natural Laws are fundamental to human nature whereas man-made laws are conditioned by history and are subject to continuous change.

Stoicism is a school of philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium, Greece in c.300 B.C. Thinkers such as Socrates, Heraclitus, Aristotle, and Plato believed in performing one’s duty with the right disposition would help a person to live consistently with nature and thus man achieves true freedom. Stoicism provided the most complete formulation of Natural Law. This school of thought was especially well received in the Roman world. Thinkers such as Cicero, Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius were all Stoics. They conceived an entirely egalitarian Law of Nature in conformity with the “Right Reason”, “Rational Principle” or “LOGOS” inherent in the human mind and human nature. Cicero wrote of a “true law, right reason, diffused in all men, constant, and everlasting.” The true basis of any law is within oneself and is not dependent on external things.

NATURAL LAW AND THE FEDERAL INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS ACT: SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS(1225-1274), ITALIAN THEOLOGIAN, PHILOSOPHER, AND FATHER OF CHURCH, ANGELIC DOCTOR CLAIMED THAT HUMAN LAW THAT VIOLATES NATURAL LAW IS NOT TRUE LAW.

Thomas Aquinas held the view that “the Natural Law is nothing else than the rational creature’s participation in the eternal law.” Natural Law is God’s eternal law with respect to man as that is received and exists in man as the first principle of his practical reason and includes all the precepts which can be discovered by using the innate reasoning ability. Aquinas stated that Human Law that violates Natural Law is not true Law.

NATURAL LAW AND THE FEDERAL INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS ACT: HUGO GROTIUS(1583 - 1645), DUTCH JURIST AND HUMANIST INSISTED THAT NATURAL LAW WILL BE VALID EVEN IF GOD DOES NOT EXIST.

The epoch-making appeal of Hugo Grotius to the Natural Law belongs to the history of jurisprudence. He insisted that the Natural Law will be valid “even if were to suppose ….. that God does not exist or is not concerned with human affairs.” Grotius held that Natural Law prescribes rules of conduct for nations and for individuals to the same extent.

NATURAL LAW AND THE FEDERAL INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS ACT: THOMAS HOBBES(1588-1679), ENGLISH PHILOSOPHER ARGUED FROM THE POINT OF VIEW CALLED "STATE OF NATURE"IN WHICH MEN, FREE AND EQUAL IN RIGHTS HAVE THE RIGHT OF NATURE(jus naturale).

Hobbes argued from the point of view called “State of Nature” in which men free and equal in rights have the “Right of Nature” (jus naturale) to use his own power for the preservation of his own nature, that is to say of life. In other words, man has a natural right to self-preservation. Dutch philosopher Baruch or Benedict Spinoza (1632-77), and German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) interpreted Natural Law as the basis of ethics and morality. French political philosopher and writer, Jean Jacques Rousseau (1712-78) regarded Natural Law as the basis of democratic principles.

While discussing about Natural Law, it must be noted that the Laws of Natural Science cannot be violated. The Natural Laws of Science are inviolable and have to be obeyed. For example, the Law of Gravitation cannot be disobeyed. If the foundation of a Natural Law is valid, it accounts for a general rule of behavior that can be obtained without exception. Since the Laws of Nature cannot be altered and there is no choice other than that of obedience of the Law, the laws of the land must be guided by the principles of the Natural Law. In its essence, the Civil Law is the application of Natural Law to particular social circumstances. German philosopher, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831) had divided all Laws into two kinds – “Laws of Nature and Laws of the Land” and Hegel holds that “the laws of nature are simply what they are and are valid as they are.” The same is not true about Civil Law as Civil Law is subject to change due to social, economic, and political conditions prevailing in a country at the time of the promulgation or enactment of that law. The Positive Law or the Civil Law must use the Natural Law as its source as well as the standard.

NATURAL LAW AND THE NATURAL PHENOMENON OF AGING:

The Law that regulates the period of human existence is not invented by man. The inevitable aging process is a natural condition that affects the lifetime of all kinds of living beings. To live or exist, man is under the compulsion of the Natural Law that demands growing old under the influence of time. If getting old is “Just by Nature”, the Principle of Natural Justice or “Just by Law” is valid everywhere and for all people. In this context, I would state that the Federal Insurance Contributions Act must provide “Natural Justice” to all of its subscribers who experience old age.

NATURAL LAW AND THE FEDERAL INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS ACT: THE US CONGRESS HAD ENACTED LEGISLATION TO FUND PUBLIC INSURANCE PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE SOME CASH PAYMENTS TO DEFRAY INCOME LOSS DUE TO OLD AGE. THIS PROGRAM IS ADMINISTERED BY THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION(SSA). AT PRESENT THE LAW UNFAIRLY AND UNJUSTLY EXCLUDES SOME SUBSCRIBERS WHO PAID ALL THE CONTRIBUTIONS MANDATED BY THE LAW. THESE SUBSCRIBERS HAVE ATTAINED THE FULL RETIREMENT AGE AND ARE DENIED THE BENEFITS OF THE INSURANCE PROGRAM.

In my opinion, if the “Rational Principle” or “Right Reason” is applied, all the subscribers who make financial contributions through payroll deductions to fund the public programs mandated by the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) must receive the promised old age retirement insurance plan benefits when they attain the prescribed age or the qualifying age which is currently at 66-years or more.

Excerpt: The “Repeal PRWORA Project” advocates for the repeal of Public Law 104-193, also known as the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) signed by US President Bill Clinton in 1996. The organizers argue that this law reintroduced varieties of slavery, including involuntary servitude and forced labor, by unfairly denying retirement income benefits to non-citizen taxpayers who cannot provide proof of lawful residency. Critics claim this law infringes on the constitutional rights of these workers, violating principles of equal treatment, protection, and justice under law. They demand for a strict adherence to the natural law principles abolishing any form of slavery.

What is Judicial Review in the US?

Whole Dude – Whole Review: Repeal PRWORA Project. Demand Judicial Review of Public Law 104-193

In the US, judicial review is when a court looks at (or reviews) a law and determines if it’s in line with the Constitution and other important laws. The court has the power to decide that a law is unconstitutional, either wholly or in part. Any parts of the law that are deemed unconstitutional cannot be enforced, effectively getting rid of the law. This is often referred to as “striking down” a law.

Whole Dude – Whole Review: Repeal PRWORA Project. Demand Judicial Review of Public Law 104-193

Judicial review doesn’t only apply to laws. It can be used on treaties, regulations, or other government actions. In most cases, however, any discussion about judicial review assumes that the power is used on state or federal laws.

Whole Dude – Whole Review: Repeal PRWORA Project. Demand Judicial Review of Public Law 104-193

Judges have historically been reluctant to exercise the power of judicial review. Instead, they prefer to make small rulings that don’t put them at odds with congress. This means that most of the time, a law has to be clearly and obviously unconstitutional to get struck down.

Laws that skirt the boundaries of what the Constitution allows might have certain sections deemed unconstitutional, but the Supreme Court has a history of avoiding tough calls about constitutionality whenever it can decide cases based on other factors.

Federal laws that are NOT unconstitutional, no matter how poorly written, unfair, or unpopular they are, cannot be subject to judicial review.

Whole Dude – Whole Campaign: Antislavery Campaign. Repeal PRWORA Project.

My readers should not be surprised if I describe US Congress as “Slave Driver.” The reason for my claim is based on PRWORA enacted by US Congress in 1996 that amended US Social Security Act of 1935. This legal provision enacted by Congress is incorporated as Section 202(y) of the Social Security Act. It mandates that no Retirement Income benefits shall be payable to registered alien(non-citizen) taxpayers in the United States without showing proof of lawful residency as determined by the Attorney General. In my view, all US taxpayers are equals when they pay taxes to subscribe for the insurance and retirement benefit plans and must get equal protection to receive those benefits.

Whole Dude – Whole Campaign: Antislavery Campaign. Repeal PRWORA Project.

Social Security Act, Section 202(y) violates the principle enshrined in those 43 words called the 13th Amendment. This 1996 amendment to the Social Security Act is fundamentally flawed for it is unconstitutional. It takes away property rights (earnings, wages and retirement income) of individuals who paid Federal, State, Local, Social Security and Medicare Taxes working in this country to attain the full retirement age.

The Emancipation Proclamation issued by President Abraham Lincoln (Republican) in September 1862 came into effect on January 01, 1863 freeing slaves in all territory still at War with the Union. These slaves were not citizens of the Land and had no political rights of their own. In Law, Slavery refers to the burden imposed upon property of a person by a specified right another has in its use. Servitude involves labor in which the person who performs labor has no right to his earnings from labor.

The amended Social Security Act unconstitutionally gives power to Social Security Administration to withhold property (wages, earnings, monthly retirement income benefits) of alien workers who are not convicted by US Court of Law. WASHINGTON — The national debt has passed a new milestone, topping $22 trillion for the first time.

The Treasury Department’s daily statement showed Tuesday that total outstanding public debt stands at $22.01 trillion. It stood at $19.95 trillion when President Donald Trump took office on Jan. 20, 2017.

The debt figure has been accelerating since the passage of Trump’s $1.5 trillion tax cut in December 2017 and action by Congress last year to increase spending on domestic and military programs.

The national debt is the total of the annual budget deficits. The Congressional Budget Office projects that this year’s deficit will be $897 billion — a 15.1 percent increase over last year’s imbalance of $779 billion. In the coming years, the CBO forecasts that the deficit will keep rising, top $1 trillion annually beginning in 2022 and never drop below $1 trillion through 2029. Much of the increase will come from mounting costs to fund Social Security and Medicare as the vast generation of baby boomers continue to retire.

The Trump administration contends that its tax cuts will eventually pay for themselves by generating faster economic growth. That projection is disputed by many economists.

Despite the rising levels of federal debt, many economists say they think the risks remain slight and point to current interest rates, which remain unusually low by historical standards. Still, some budget experts warn that ever-rising federal debt poses substantial risks for the government because it could make it harder to respond to a financial crisis through tax cuts or spending increases.

Michael Peterson, head of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, says “our growing national debt matters because it threatens the economic future of every American.”

Economic Independence vs Slavery in Old Age

Whole Dude – Whole Campaign: Deuteronomy 28: But it shall come about, if you do not obey the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: 16 Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. 17 Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18 Cursed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock. 19 Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out… – Curses through verse 68
