I had joined the Indian Army Medical Corps in 1969 as a Final Year M.B.B.S. student and the flame to serve the Nation got extinguished during September 1983 at Ministry of Defence, South Block, The Secretariat Building in New Delhi.

The memorable foot journey through the forests of Chittagong Hill Tracts while evacuating battle wounded casualties of Indo-Pak War of 1971, and the unexpected encounter with a Chakma tribal youth who had needed help.

In the history of Indian Army Medical Corps, I had the unique privilege to perform the tasks of Nursing Assistant and Ambulance Assistant in providing patient care and comfort when I had accompanied on foot and medically evacuated my battle casualties during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.

MS-8466 Captain. R. Rudra Narasimham, AMC/SSC had served as a Medical Officer at Headquarters Establishment No. 22 from September 1971 to December 1974. He does not want to forfeit his right to claim the gallantry award of VIR CHAKRA which was recommended but not actually awarded.

Major General (Retd) Sujan Singh Uban AVSM, the former Inspector General of Special Frontier Force had executed Operation Eagle in Chittagong Hill Tracts during 1971-1972.

SPECIAL FRONTIER FORCE – WHOLE PHANTOM

Major General (Retd) Sujan Singh Uban, AVSM, the former Inspector General of Special Frontier Force had published his story titled The Phantoms of Chittagong : The Fifth Army in Bangladesh and had narrated the successful military operation in Chittagong Hill Tracts in the 1971 War of Liberation of Bangladesh. I would like to tell the Untold story.
