The joy of Christmas comes from the fact that God knows you, and He takes pleasure in finding you, and He gets you back into His Protection even if you have wandered away from Him and got lost. He rejoices when He rescues one lost sheep. When man did not go to God to be reconciled, God came down to reconcile man to Him. God is the one who searches for man and not vice versa.
